So My iPad has been phenomenal during the quarantine! Posted: 05 May 2020 07:43 AM PDT Ive been relying on my iPad a lot during this quarantine and its amazed me with what its been able to do. I need to be on conference calls that last hours and the iPad is perfect for that. Theres none of that will it be compatible crap on my iPad just download the app and its good to go. Sadly on the laptop its not as simple.besides the front cam looks a lot better. The iPad has been great for content consumption, with videos playing back with no issues what so ever. Netflix and YouTube are a joy on this thing. Apple Arcade has a ton of games and the iPad plays them really really smoothly, Im playing ocean horn right now. No frame drops no lags just smooth smooth 60FPS. Using the iPad so much im away from my phone a lot, this is where the ecosystem comes in the iPad keeps me up to date on all my texts and if someone calls me it shows up on my iPad. PS universal copy paste is a f*cking godsend. Then I record and edit a few videos on iMovie for my YouTube channel. its simple but it gets the job done. all the while as im working I can use the slide over to quickly google something or to start an app download that im gonna need for later. All of this on a 2018 9.7 inch iPad with the A10 chip! I feel like the whats a computer girl. Its hard to state how good this product is. Tim Apple if you're reading this good job old chap. Apple won't fix my defective iPad Pro because they say it's bent Posted: 05 May 2020 12:58 PM PDT I bought an iPad Pro 12.9" back in March. I work in a hospital and lived with vulnerable family members; I moved out so I could continue to work without putting them at risk, and bought the iPad so I'd have a computer to take with me. The iPad has a hairline crack in the screen. I've been through this before with a previous iPad which they replaced under warranty, and I was told when I sent this one in that it should also be covered. I had sent photos of the iPad which led them to confirm this. They've now said that the iPad is bent, that I've damaged it, and that I'll need to pay for a full replacement, or have it sent back without repair. Now I've seen the news stories about bending iPads like everyone else. I had been looking for bends and not spotted any before I sent this in. I've kept it in a hard shell case, not put it in a backpack, just kept it in my home and used it gently. They won't send me photographs of the iPad or give me their measurements. I could pay for the replacement and never know if the thing was ever actually bent. If it is bent then frankly I don't feel I've treated it in a way that should reasonably have bent it. Pretty pissed off to be honest. [link] [comments]
Space seen as “enter” in some apps Posted: 05 May 2020 01:26 PM PDT Hi all, i'm using a Logitech case with keyboard on my iPad 7th gen, and in some apps or situations (i.e. Google slides in Safari) when i press spacebar on the physical keyboard it does not actually put a space, but behaves as I have pressed enter key. what could i do? thanks [link] [comments]
Anyone using their iPad during tabletop RP? What's your workflow? Posted: 05 May 2020 11:27 AM PDT Recently ordered myself an iPad Pro 12.9 for art and writing. I have an iMac for my work machine and I'm intending for the iPad to replace the laptop slot in my daily gear, but it's such a flexible device that I've been daydreaming up different ways I can work it into my day-to-day. For the record, I've got a huge interest in workflow optimization and overall information organization. (I spent a year working on a system just for my planner, lol.) That brings me to tabletop RP. I used post-its heavily during my last game, and a small notepad +google docs for taking session notes and writing out our recaps, and it worked out for a bit... but I kinda want a more efficient system now that we've started our next game. And with an iPad on the way and everything, I got to wondering... how do others use their ipads for game time? If you use an ipad anywhere in your tabletop RP flow, I'd love to hear about it! Magic keyboard scrolling issue Posted: 05 May 2020 02:05 PM PDT Hi folks, Does anyone else have issues with the two finger scrolling on the new magic keyboard? Everything else works great on this trackpad so I am confused as to why the two finger scrolling stopped working suddenly. Maybe a software update?? [link] [comments]
Facebook Messenger issue with keyboard Posted: 05 May 2020 02:04 PM PDT Very strange issue. When i use my iPad Pro using either the smart or magic keyboard, if i switch apps away from facebook messenger, when i return to it, I can not type. I have to force quit the app and relaunch it fresh to type. If I change app at all, It happens again. Works fine with on-screen keyboard. Any thoughts? Anyone else seeing this? [link] [comments]
Logitech Pebble Mouse Delay on IPad 7th Gen? Posted: 05 May 2020 06:25 AM PDT I recently bought an IPad 7th Gen, as well as a Logitech Pebble M350. There is a slight delay/lag when I use the mouse on my iPad vs when I use it on my PC. Is this delay typical? Is there anything I can do to fix this? [link] [comments]
How future proof are the different iPads out now? Posted: 05 May 2020 06:53 AM PDT Hey guys. My sister starts a second career soon and is going back to college. We're looking to get her an iPad. Now, she had the original iPad Air for almost 6 years and it's still working fine enough for Netflix. But for school, she needs one with Apple Pencil support. Now there's three models, the "iPad" , the "air" and the "pro". I guess the pro is out of the question since it's more than we can afford and guess would be an overkill. She only needs it for school related stuff and to watch Netflix on it. Now, what would you recommend? Spend a little more to get the air or stick with the normal iPad? I know the normal iPad is cheaper, but we would be willing to spend a little more if that meant one or two years of more performance. Thank you so much guys! [link] [comments]
Any way to output to USB-C monitor and charge iPad Pro? Posted: 05 May 2020 09:50 AM PDT I have a portable monitor with a single USB-C port, the monitor receives power and video over that port. My iPad Pro also has its USB-C port. I can plug the monitor into my iPad and the iPad provides power and video to the monitor and it is great, but I'm having trouble finding a way to also charge the iPad while doing this. There are lots of USB-C docks that have HDMI/DP video output, and I can find USB-C splitters that allow charging while outputting audio, but I can't find any way to provide power to the iPad while also having a USB-C video out. Does such a cable/hub even exist? [link] [comments]
Normal to have long processing times on apple? Posted: 05 May 2020 11:46 AM PDT Ordered the magic keyboard about 7-8 days ago and it's still in the processing stage not shipped. Was wondering if thats normal? [link] [comments]
Streaming personal media to iPad via Bluetooth (without a network)? Posted: 05 May 2020 09:25 AM PDT Is there a way to do this? I'm going to be without internet and I'd like to stream footage to my iPad from my laptop. [link] [comments]
Can iPadOS mount more than one usb drive? Posted: 05 May 2020 07:50 AM PDT It seems to only ever mount one for me despite having a powered hub? Was hoping I could transfer files between two on the go but it doesn't seem possible :\ EDIT: I have a powered usb c hub with 3 USB A ports and it doesn't work there. It also doesn't seem to work on my old USB A-3.0 hub via as USB C adapter. [link] [comments]
How much does system storage grow over time? Posted: 05 May 2020 03:21 PM PDT Hello all, I've been using the Ipad 7th gen for a few weeks (love it), and I notice that:
Do you know how much these things would grow over time? If it's gonna be a lot then what can be done to reduce them? This is my first ipad so I don't have much experience with IpadOS. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Is the Ipad (7 gen) still a good option? Posted: 05 May 2020 02:57 PM PDT Ok so I have a Ipad 2 gen and I need to upgrade because now that I'm distance teaching, I've released how old my iPad is ( I mean.... It's the second generation lol). I can't use it with my MacBook Air or iPhone... So frustrating... I plan to keep the old Ipad for my classroom and students to use, BUT I'm thinking of buying the Ipad 7th gen with the Apple Pen. Here is my question: Is the Ipad 7 gen worth it? Is it old now compared with the new iPad Pro and supposedly iPad Air that will be out eventually? Should I wait? I really want it but i'm scared to make the move lol ( I'm very indecisive) I plan to use it as my teacher iPad instead of luggage my computer with me to work daily. I need some advice from people who know way more about apple than I do =) [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2020 10:56 AM PDT Does anyone have suggestions for good monitor clips or stands to clip my 11 inch iPad Pro to the side of my monitor? I'm looking for one to use with Sidecar on my Mac. [link] [comments]
Logitech Mice on Ipad OS issues (MX anywhere vs. Masters) Posted: 05 May 2020 08:49 AM PDT Has anyone else had issues with the magic keyboard and mouse connectivity? Occasionally, I have issues with my magic keyboard input when it is connected at the same time with my MX mouse. On the Bluetooth settings it says "Using MX mouse may affect WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity". For those of you using the master series Logitech mice do you see that message on your Bluetooth menu? (Thinking about returning the anywhere for the masters) [link] [comments]

Propoint Gt (swiftpoint) iPad OS 13.4 Posted: 05 May 2020 06:49 AM PDT Besides I really like the new magic keyboard for the iPad Pro, I think there's already a purpose for the Propoint mouse (which I almost bought before the release of iPad OS 13.4 to use it together with jump desktop): I would like to use it as a presenter for PowerPoint and GoodNotes as a teacher for school. The presenter mode of propoint gt is usable with windows and Mac (as far as I know) I was wondering if it's possible to use the presenter mode with iPad Os 13.4 as well. Unfortunately there are no reviews about this combination (iPad Os 13.4 and propoint) so it would be great if someone could share his / her experiences. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Keyboard language button position! Posted: 05 May 2020 09:09 AM PDT Hi, I upgraded from iPad Pro 10.5" to the first gen 11" model. The position of the language select button on the new iPad is inverted and it's really annoying. On my old iPad, from the left edge on the bottom row first key is the number/punctuation switch then the language selector. On the 11" model, the language selector is first from the left. It's very annoying. Apple tried to force this switch on us a few versions ago and backed down. Did they do it again? Is there anyway to switch the keys around back to their proper positions? Thanks [link] [comments]
Found out I have access to the adobe creative cloud for free... Posted: 05 May 2020 01:17 AM PDT What iPad apps should I take advantage of? I'm mostly just an illustrator for fun (not very good imo but learning lol) and I've only been using procreate which is amazing though. [link] [comments] |
