[Question] Does anyone else jailbreak simply for tiny QOL improvements within IOS?

    Posted: 29 May 2020 02:28 PM PDT

For example rather than wanting to overhaul your device to look like an android phone or something. You just implement subtle tweaks here and there. One tweak may change the scroll bar delay device wide, one tweak may make it so when you press the WiFi off button in the control center it actually turns off completely or simply giving your settings app some organization.

I hate these heavy tweaks that basically turn your phone into a bright cluttered rainbow Almost like bad cosmetic surgery.

    IOS is already extremely pretty.

[Tutorial] Getting Started with Jailbreaking in iOS 13

    Posted: 29 May 2020 05:42 PM PDT

    Getting Started

Welcome, first let's understand, what is jailbreaking and what can it do.

Jailbreaking allows for special apps called "tweaks" to run on the iOS device. These tweaks can change or add functionality to your iOS device.

Several types of Jailbreak exist but for this tutorial, I will be using the unc0ver jailbreak, as it is the most versatile and easy to use.

Also, this post looks complicated but it is just very detailed, if you have any issues please comment and I may be able to help you out, and may add some stuff to the post to help others.

    Prerequisites

    1. iOS Device Running iOS 13.3 or 14.0
      1. Don't update!
    2. A Windows or macOS computer
    3. An Apple ID

    Setting up on Windows

    1. Uninstall iTunes and iCloud if you installed from Windows Store
    2. Install iTunes (Win32 Not UWP)
      1. 64 Bit Download
      2. 32 Bit Download
    3. Download AltStore
    4. Right-click the zip you just downloaded and click "Extract All" Wait until this finishes.
    5. Double click "Setup.exe" and follow the on-screen instructions provided by AltStore.
    6. Press the Windows key, type "AltServer" and open the application.
    7. Click the arrow icon near the network icon in the taskbar. This will bring up a menu with multiple icons. Look for a diamond-shaped logo that says AltServer when hovering over it. Click on it.
    8. From the option brought up, hover over Install AltStore, and select your iOS device.
    9. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
    10. On your iOS device, open Settings → General → Device Management and tap on your Apple ID.
    11. Trust AltStore.
    12. Tap the "Open in AltStore" button above.
    13. If prompted, sign into the same Apple ID you used before.
    14. AltStore will now install the app. Wait until it finishes.
    15. Open unc0ver and jailbreak!

    Setting up on macOS

    1. Download AltStore.
    2. Unzip and move AltStore to your Applications folder.
    3. Launch the AltStore application.
    4. Click on the AltStore icon in the Menu Bar, and then click on the Install Mail Plug-in option.
    5. Open the Mail app, and click on Mail → Preferences in the menu bar.
    6. Open the General tab in mail preferences, click Manage Plug-ins, check AltPlugin, and apply and restart Mail.
    7. Connect your iOS device via USB.
    8. Click AltStore in the menu bar, then go to Install AltStore → (Your iOS Device)
    9. Login with your Apple ID when prompted and click install.
    10. On your iOS device, open Settings → General → Device Management and tap on your Apple ID.
    11. Trust AltStore.
    12. Tap the "Open in AltStore" button located above.
    13. AltStore will now install the app. Wait until it finishes.
    14. Open unc0ver and jailbreak!
    15. Your device will reboot, if you don't see Cydia, jailbreak again with unc0ver.

    After you jailbreak:

    1. After you jailbreak, there are some tweaks you'll want to install to make using the Jailbreak easier
    2. Zebra Package Manager (Basically Cydia but easier to use and has dark mode)
      1. Go here to download (link)
      2. See this link for install video I did: (link)
      3. Open Zebra
      4. Press Community Sources
      5. Press Cydia
      6. Import All
    3. Liberty Lite (repo ) so you don't get banned from Snapchat
    4. PreferenceOrganizer (repo) and shuffle (repo) saves you from having to scroll for 7 years to get to the tweaks
    5. AutoUnlockX (For iPhone X) (repo) this one unlocks as soon as it sees your face so you don't have to swipe up.

    Potential Issues:

    1. unc0ver uninstalled, make sure you open AltStore once every two days and keep it running on your computer
    2. Stuck at a black screen after installing a tweak (for over 10 min)
      1. Force reboot your phone
      2. Open unc0ver
      3. In unc0ver's settings turn off load tweaks
      4. Jailbreak
      5. Remove whatever tweaks you added that caused the issue
      6. Re-jailbreak
    3. I can't pair my Apple Watch
      1. Reboot
      2. Pair
      3. Re-jailbreak
    4. [APP NAME] is detecting my jailbreak and won't let me useit
      1. Add it to the list in TweakRestrictors settings.
    5. I can't find Shortcuts in my settings app
      1. Safe mode, change what's needed, reboot

    Sources:

I used unc0ver's install instructions from their webpage.

[Free Release] Replay — Add shuffle and repeat buttons to now playing views such as Control Center and the Lock Screen player.

    Posted: 29 May 2020 10:52 AM PDT

Replay is now available on Packix.

Add shuffle and repeat buttons to now playing views such as Control Center and the Lock Screen player.

Please be aware of the following:

    • Replay is not compatible with ColorFlow due to similar functionalities.
    • In order to use Replay in the Control Center, pop the Now Playing Module or use BetterCCXI to make the module wider.
    • Replay is exclusive to iOS 13 at this time. If you would like to test a beta release for iOS 12 or possibly iOS 11, contact me. I do not have a pre-iOS 13 device.

    Simple

Replay is simple. There are no settings to configure, it works out-of-the-box.

    Elegant

Replay mimics the style of native iOS, so it blends in beautifully with the rest of the system. of the system.

[Tip] How to make AOD Tweaks sip battery

    Posted: 29 May 2020 01:19 PM PDT

I recently fell in love with the tweak "Photon" that's just got an update to be compatible with Kalm.

Although it does what it can to minimize battery usage, I'm always looking for how to squeeze more out of the battery when using these tweaks.

I highly recommend picking up Cpu Tool or Powercuff. Both allow you to reach lower states of power temporarily on iOS.

CPU Tool is preferred for me, as I set my CPU usage to 10% when LPM is enabled. For day to day usage I almost never use LPM, and if I do, my iPhone 11 Pro Max isn't Too slow even with 10% cpu power.

This allows Photon to enable LPM when enabled , and subsequently reducing power to 10% or whatever you select.

Just some insight for those looking to squeeze more life out with these tweaks.

[Tutorial] How to fix In-App Purchases not working on iOS 13

    Posted: 29 May 2020 12:49 PM PDT

I've been seeing a lot of posts regarding in-app purchases being broken for some users.

Even the Developer from Apollo for Reddit was curious as to why users couldn't make purchases anymore.

As of now, it seems that both the current Jailbreaks for iOS 13 both don't respring the UserSpace.

The fix is to install [[userspacerebootmodule]] and reboot with the CC toggle once installed. That fixed my issue attempting to Restore my purchases. This also fixes errors like being unable to connect to iTunes Store etc.

TL;DR: Install userspacerebootmodule to fix in-app purchases on iOS 13.

EDIT: For those not wanting to install anything, you can just run the command launchctl reboot userspace

[Discussion] Coolstar's Tweak now costs more if you use Unc0ver

    Posted: 29 May 2020 03:01 AM PDT

Today coolstar released an update to Ventana, his Windows 10 lockscreen tweak.

For people who use his own jailbreak or Checkra1n, he charges $1,99.

For people who use Unc0ver however he charges *DOUBLE\* that amount, $3.99.

    Link to tweet: https://twitter.com/cstar_ow/status/1266234378658562052?s=12

I want to discuss the ethics behind this.

The reason coolstar's tweaks never worked on Unc0ver was artificial, after all there isn't a single tweak developer (apart from Cokespotes, and that has been disputed by Bingner to my knowledge) who's tweaks didn't work on Unc0ver.

Link to Tweet from LQ: https://twitter.com/laughingquoll/status/1266237478773460992?s=12

It has been known that coolstar and pwn have had fights, and there has been questionable behaviour from both sides.

This totally crosses the line for me however. It is completely immoral and downright destructive to this community to charge double the price for the same tweak on your competitors jailbreak, and I want to commend Packix for deciding to take down the tweak. It's in their own TOS that they are allowed to do so, and in this situation I absolutely think they are right.

What do you think of this decision and should Packix intervene?

    Edit 1:

In the current state his tweaks work in unc0ver without any fix (and even when they didn't work that was because his DRM checked the code signature too...). This whole thing is "aaa use chimera or give me money"

    Compatible with iOS 11 - 13.

This project is the unofficial successor of Stellae. I've reached out to the original developer who stated they were no longer interested in maintaining the original project and that a new tweak could be made. Thank you to Lacertosus Deus for Stellae and I hope Dynamik can hold the same standards it did.

    Features

    • Set where the image is applied to (homescreen, lockscreen, or both)
    • Set the parallax to on or off
    • An optional timer to automatically update the wallpaper at a certain time every 24 hours
    • An advanced command line interface to customize how and when to update the wallpaper (see Advanced Usage)
    • Set the number of hot posts to grab (up to 10)
    • Set a custom subreddit to grab posts from
    • Easily filter NSFW posts
    • If you really like that wallpaper you got, save it with the button in settings
    • Manually update the wallpaper if you like

    Known issues

Please read the known issues on Packix before leaving a comment or DMing me. I am working to fix these in the next update, but due to the fact that I will be largely unavailable during the weekend, I hope to have the update out by the middle of the week next week (around June 3, 2020).

    Downloading and Installing

You can either Download Dynamik for Free from Packix, or download and install it manually using the .deb file, which can be downloaded from the GitHub releases section.

    Advanced Usage

    Command Usage

By design, this package comes bundled with an advanced command line interface for setting the wallpaper from various sources. It can be invoked from the terminal by typing the following command:

    dynamikcli --help

To view all the command-line options, please visit the section on the GitHub README page.

    Donating

Donations are never expected, but always appreciated. You can donate to my PayPal account.

    [Free Release][Update] piRa1n v3 - Jailbreak anywhere without a PC using a Raspberry Pi 4 and Checkra1n

    Posted: 29 May 2020 10:29 AM PDT

    Hi everybody!

    I'm very happy to release piRa1n v3!

    But...what is piRa1n?

piRa1n is a tool that lets you easily create a portable Checkra1n dongle with a Raspberry Pi 4 or a Banana pi M2 Zero. Here is a demo of piRa1n.

    What's new?

You don't need command line to install or configure piRa1n anymore!

    - piRa1n-web (a web interface to configure and update piRa1n). Demo of piRa1n-web

    piRa1n-web is open-source: https://github.com/raspberryenvoie/piRa1n-web

    - Create a new config script from scratch

    - Add verbose boot

    - Create script to update piRa1n and Checkra1n

    How to update piRa1n?

    Check this link.

You'll find all instructions on how to build it here.

Have a nice day and happy jailbreaking :)

[Discussion] Taking requests! What kind of a widgets would you like to see for your home-screen? [Free]

    Posted: 29 May 2020 08:33 PM PDT

    Hi there!

I'm a React developer by profession.

Thanks to the generosity of iOS developer Matchstic (https://twitter.com/_Matchstic) and the creation of XenHTML—an incredible Tweak to create widgets in web languages—web developers all over are able to create working widgets deployable on your home-screen and lock-screen!

In an effort to give back to the community that has been a part of my life since I was a young teenager, I'm offering to complete some widget requests! If there's a unique widget idea you'd like to see brought to your iOS device, please post below (with some details) and I'll consider completing them. This is a free "service" and I do not expect payment to complete some requests.

I'm hoping the community will come up with some great ideas that I can help bring to life. If any other front-end engineers are willing to contribute, they are more than welcome too.

Example widgets: music players, clock widgets, weather widgets, crypto coin prices widgets

    Eager to receive some replies!

[Request] Can we get this updated?

[REQUEST] Slim/minimal volume & brightness sliders for CC.

[REQUEST] Slim/minimal volume & brightness sliders for CC.

Something similar to the mockup attached, I'd love to see a tweak for very thin/minimal glass-like sliders for the CC. Alternately, if something like this already exists, please let me know!

This is my first time posting here so I hope I've done everything properly.

[Discussion] Tweaks for elderly/special needs people

    Posted: 29 May 2020 01:59 PM PDT

My older sister has autism and is currently getting into using her iPad. With the new unc0ver out, I thought I'd take the opportunity to enhance the accessibility for her. Does anyone have any tweaks they've used in this situation. Examples of things I'd like to do are:

    - Completely bypass lockscreen to get to lockscreen

    - large battery icon

-app to remote in if she needs help

    - autolock even when playing video. She often leaves her iPad on after watching a video because she doesn't know how to lock it, running down the battery. Maybe if there's some activator setting that can turn it off when the device is flat on the table, even if a video is playing.

[Question]How to make Zebra take over Cydia while Cydia being partially functional (As backup)- unc0ver on iOS 13.5

    Posted: 29 May 2020 06:14 PM PDT

I'm not against cydia, but zebra i feel its more modern and fast, every repo I go actually has an option to add to cydia, but to add zebra i've to copy the URL manually and add it.

Is there a way where I can keep Cydia{Active and as a Backup} but use zebra to manage everything else ?

Also lis ther a way I can just press on add to cydia and it actually ads to zebra instead.

Also, is there a way we can just merge the source lists in both cydia and zebra and vice versa (PLease note that i know Trasfer sources from cydia exists and Iam not talking about that) - what I meant is if we add source to zebra, it gets updated to cydia too automatically.

    Thanks and Regards
