- When I turn my TV on, my Apple TV turns on and automatically starts playing whatever video was on last. How do you stop this?

- Ethernet connected but showing WiFi as network connection
- "There's a problem loading this content" error message comes up when I want to play a file stored locally on my iPhone using the iOS TV app.

| Samsung tv can't turn on Apple TV Posted: 26 May 2020 03:41 AM PDT So I have a Samsung 85R that used to turn on the ATV 4K when I switched to the HDMI input. It no longer does that, in stead I have to wait for the tv to tell me that theres no signal on the input, and then I can press back on the tv remote to turn on the Apple TV. | Weird issue with newest Apple TV and Hulu. Posted: 25 May 2020 07:30 PM PDT Hey all I think Hulu just updated but I have noticed a weird bug. So I have the cheapest subscription to Hulu so I have commercials. What happens is, right when the commercial counter in the upper right (that tells you how long commercials will be) the show will play still for a few seconds with no sound then cut to commercials with sound. Then once the episode is back, it picks up right after those few seconds I lose with no sound. Anyone else experience this?? [link] [comments]  |
| Apple TV Removed Auto-Play for Purchased Content Posted: 25 May 2020 07:40 AM PDT Hey all, So I did some digging and there are similar posts but god damn I cannot believe they removed that feature just because some people complained. Why the heck did they not just make it an option you can toggle on and off?!?!?! I know there are some work arounds with creating a playlist and what not and then air playing to your atv, but then you have to actually download all the stuff and can't just stream it. It's such a basic feature that's standard with Amazon. It's a simple toggle. I like it on auto play during the day and then when I'm going to bed I can toggle it off. I switched to buying stuff on amazon a while ago anyways. But I have some older shows on Apple that I wanted to watch or have playing in the background and damn it's annoying having to select a new episode every 20 minutes. Also don't they have the auto play feature for their original content. I just do not understand the logic in just removing the feature completely. Anyways just needed somewhere to vent. | Posted: 25 May 2020 04:42 PM PDT When I watch movies on plex i have a bunch of different audio and subtitle sources. When I swipe down I get Info, Playback Settings and Technical details. If i go into Playback Settings there is another 3 columns Quality, Audio Settings, Subtitles. If i change the audio stream under audio settings I cant get back up to the top headings of Info, Playback Settings and Technical details without having to exit the movie. anyone know how to get back to the top menu? | Problems casting video from Showtime and NBC apps to Airplay Posted: 25 May 2020 11:26 PM PDT I have Apple TV 4k, latest software version and can cast videos from my iphone to my TV also from the youtube app, no probs. However, whenever I try to cast from the NBC app it plays only the adds and freezes when the content should start. From showtime app the cast starts for a second and then stops, goes back to the apple TV screen. Anybody else having these issues and maybe a solution? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 25 May 2020 10:47 PM PDT I just recently got an Apple tv 4k box and just purchased some tv shows off iTunes. I understand that tv shows aren't going to be crystal clear and amazing looking but the content is really dark. In dark scenes, things are really washed out and black. I don't have a 4k tv, I have my picture settings to 1080p sdr. Al my other apps like Netflix and Disney + all look normal with content. Am I missing something on the settings? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 25 May 2020 06:52 PM PDT When I turn my tv on, my tv automatically switches to the HDMI port that my Apple TV is on and starts playing the last video that was playing before my Apple TV was turned on (e.g. YouTube video or Netflix). This gets super annoying because I'll turn my tv on to play Xbox, but it'll switch to my Apple TV's HDMI port (even if the tv was on Xbox's port before being turned off last), and automatically start playing the video. This gets to be a problem because I'll grab the remote and switch to the Xbox port immediately (while tv screen is black and just says "HDR" on top before Apple TV's main menu showing up), which ends up in a 2 hour long video resuming in the background. Could be solved if I wait to hit pause on the Apple TV remote before switching to the Xbox port, but I forget. Is there a setting that can be changed to stop this? First world problems. | Apple TV Remote IR blaster not working with receiver Posted: 25 May 2020 11:18 AM PDT Hi everyone. I have the latest gen Apple TV 4K (256Gb model). Most of the time the Apple TV is in my bedroom where it is set up to control my sound bar using the IR blaster on the remote However, I occasionally use this move my Apple TV in the living room and this is where I have my issue. The surround sound system is connected to a pioneer receiver that doesn't support cec therefore I have attempted to set up the ir blaster feature to control the volume with no success at all. The Apple TV detects the single as the bar makes progress on the screen and allows me to creat a profile however the volume doesn't change. I watched Mythic Quest and The Servant and you don't will see any brands (with a few exceptions when they can't hide it properly), even the Apple logo is hidden on Apple products, they still use mostly Apple products. You also will not see any car brands. I think it's a cool concept, because a lot of American TV shows do this kind of marketing to show products in shows and it's in fact illegal in most European countries. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 25 May 2020 06:24 AM PDT I spent the weekend ripping and converting a bunch of bluray movies for my iPhone. Transferred the files over through iTunes, everything looked great. All metadata showing up, but when I go to play a file, I keep getting "There's a problem loading this content" continuously. There isn't a problem with the files themselves. They are fully compatible, format wise - I've verified this a number of times. I'm not sure what the problem is. Every problem that I've searched with this error, seems to be people who are trying to play content they purchased through the store - so content that needs to be streamed. I have the files stored locally on my phone so I don't see why there would be a playing error? iPhone 11 Pro Max / iOS 13.5 [link] [comments]  |
