| How can I set up Apple TV 3 with no bluetooth and no remote? Posted: 16 May 2020 06:33 PM PDT I bought an ATV3 off ebay and it shipped without the remote. I tried doing a factory reset + update to 8.4.4 with a miscrousb and successfully got the set up screen when I plugged it back into my TV. At first my ATV was discoverable in my iPhone and MacBook, but they failed to connect. Then I downloaded Cider TV and my MacBook suddenly asked if I wanted to connect to my ATV. I got in and logged it into my WiFi, pulling up the home screen. Before I could connect my phone as a remote, the bluetooth dropped out and now my ATV isn't even discoverable in bluetooth. I can still AirPlay from my iPhone and MacBook for some reason. So:
TLDR: My ATV is connected to WiFi and is on the home screen, but I don't have a remote or bluetooth. How can I control it and set up a remote? Also I have already contacted the seller, and will buy a replacement remote or return it if nothing works. Just hoping I can do something without those resorts. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Home sharing for Apple TV not working? Help please? :) Posted: 17 May 2020 02:58 AM PDT Hi everyone! Purchased a new IPad recently and with it comes the 1 year free Apple TV+ subscription. I have added my partner into family sharing so that he gets access to the subscription too. For some reason, while he can see that I have added him as family sharing, he doesn't seem to get the subscription access to Apple TV+. It kept asking him to sign up for the 1 week free trial or paid subscription. I cant seem to find any troubleshooting FAQs on Apple site, hence am hoping someone here knows what additional steps I need to take to get him to my Apple TV+ subscription. | Need help with ATV 4K + LG OLED Posted: 16 May 2020 12:31 PM PDT I keep reading conflicting information about how to properly set these two up together.. My main issue that I seem to be having is anytime I watch something that may or may not be Dolby Vision, the ATV will kick to a black screen very briefly (1-2 secs) when I go back to a menu. Once the menu comes up it will display the Dolby logo in the top right corner, but my assumption is this is because I have Dolby Vision set as the default video output? I've read I should set my default output to 4K SDR or HDR and let the ATV kick into Dolby Vision when available. Just curious what people's experiences are. [link] [comments]  | ||

| HELP - ATV4K crashes when scrolling quickly through albums Posted: 16 May 2020 08:53 PM PDT I have a repeatable bug that I wasn't able to find a solution to using my google-fu. Like the title says, in the music app on the Apple TV if view my music by album then scroll quickly the app will crash. I've tried the following: Checking for a software update Restarting ATV Logging out/in of iCloud Logging out/in of iTunes Resetting the ATV to factory settings None of these appeared to work, which leads me to believe it's a software issue unless one you much smarter people know of a solution. | Horrible streaming quality on my 4th gen Apple TV 4k Posted: 16 May 2020 01:17 PM PDT I currently live in Korea and last month or so I could not watch any iTunes movies/tv series. 4k was definitely possible, but from last month or so I can't even get 360p, that is if I can get it to play. I've reset it twice, and it does have the latest software. I even got an ethernet cable and I get steady 400Mbps measured on my ATV. I just can't wrap my head around why this is happening other than the fact that there must be some problem with iTunes server connection. Does anyone have similar problems in East Asia? | How to use Apple TV on a windows PC? Posted: 16 May 2020 03:09 PM PDT I recently got a free subscription to AppleTV+ and decided to check it out. Well, that wasn't so easy. In fact, I can't figure out how to do it with a Windows PC. Is it intentionally the lousiest website in the world, or am I missing something? If I go to tv.apple.com, all I get is a (pretty) list of 25-something shows to watch. That's it. Literally nothing more. No Categories (not even "Movies" and "Series"), no search, no lists, nothing. The whole selection in its entirety that is available is the list of 25-odd shows on the page. And yes, I have signed on. And I can see my valid subscription on the settings page. And I can watch any of those 25 shows that are available on the front page. But that's it. Is AppleTV+ really that? Is that ALL it provides? 25 shows? Because a) I refuse to believe it, b) if it is, it's the stupidest deal on the planet, which again, I don't think Apple is particularly known for doing. I've tried a few browsers, but there's virtually no difference. The available selection is the 25. How do I search? How do I browser ANYTHING other than those front page offerings? If I try to open "Movies" via iTunes, that just shows movies that I can rent and/or buy. the TV series on iTunes just literally shows Series that are added to my Library - and no way to add them, not even a "Store" button. Windows PCs are listed as compatible devices, but... Is that really the entirety of the selection from AppleTV+? [link] [comments]  | ||

An ex has the 2nd apple TV and both are able to access all the previously purchased movies. If I logout of apps on my ATV such as Netflix and Hulu and log into new accounts will that have any effect on the 2nd ATV? Will it change their Netflix account to my new one? [link] [comments]  |
