Is anybody else seeing inconsistent playback quality symbols for iTunes movies lately? Posted: 26 May 2020 07:32 PM PDT A couple of weeks ago I bought 1917 which was listed as 4K etc on iTunes, but it showed up and only appeared to stream as HD in the TV app. Tonight I'm watching MI: Rogue Nation which is listed as 4K/Dolby Vision in both the store and the TV app (and I have watched it in that format previously) but is streaming as HD/Dolby Vision. Same is true for MI: Ghost Protocol and Fallout but other 4K movies in my library are both being listed as and streaming in their iTunes advertised formats. [link] [comments]

HBO removed from Apple Channels Posted: 27 May 2020 04:31 AM PDT At least in the US, there is no longer a HBO option, much less HBO Max in Apple Channels. I hope this is just a tech snafu. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 May 2020 05:29 PM PDT Hey there! I have an Apple TV 4K and a 2.1 soundbar system. Both are connected to the TV via HDMI. Often if I watch films in the evening I find that I have to adjust the volume up and down or choose reduce loud sounds, because the quiet scenes are too quiet and the loud scenes too punchy. So I was look at the audio format section tonight and wondering, if it's set to auto will it detect that my sound system is just 2.1 or do I need to click change format and select stereo? I guess I'm curious as to whether or not auto is maybe putting out 5.1 and causing the dynamic range to be wrong for my system. [link] [comments]
Is buying an AppleTV worth it when my current TV supports HomeKit and AirPlay? Posted: 26 May 2020 05:41 PM PDT This is a legit question. I have been thinking about buying one, but I'm not sure if there is any advantage I can get out of it since I'm not familiar with it. Have any of you upgraded from HomeKit-enabled TV to an AppleTV? Posted: 26 May 2020 03:15 PM PDT I have a British account with an apple TV + account and an American account without the apple TV account which I use via a DNS to watch US stuff. I assumed it worked that as they are both on the same Apple TV box I would be able to access the content of both at any time? This does not work in that I have to log into my American account to watch the American stuff and log out to watch Apple TV items or iTunes purchases. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong? Hope this makes sense?! Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 May 2020 12:56 PM PDT There's an interactive special on Netflix that won't show up on ATV. It says that my device can't play it. Has anyone else ran into this? [link] [comments]
