    Needing Apple Music to play songs I already own

    I have been trying to organize the music on my PC (don't own a Mac) and every time I download a song onto my iPad it does this weird glitch where it holds my music hostage unless I get Apple Music. I already own all the music in my library and this is only an issue when transferring music through my PC. I have deleted and re-downloaded the songs that have been having this problem but it still persists. Please help because I don't understand why iTunes is being such a buggy unfixed mess

    2020 13” MacBook Pro - extremely hot but fans don’t turn on.

    I've had the 2020 13" MBP for a week now and today was the only time that it got so extremely hot above the Touch Bar and on the bottom of the laptop that I got scared. I turned the laptop around and put my ear near the vents and didn't hear the fans at all.

    The apps I had open were Safari, Mail, iMessage, and Signal.

    With Safari, I had about 7 tabs open and in one of them I was on a meet.google.com call.

    I couldn't believe how hot it was to the touch. The MacBook Pro was on my lap during all of this and I've read Apple's support article about how this could block the vents but that's not what worried me - what worried me was that it got THAT hot and the fans didn't turn on whatsoever to cool it off. The battery drained from 97% to 80% in 1 hour.

    Is this normal or should the fans have kicked in?

    Edit: I have the base $1799 model, with the 10th-gen i5.

    But this is really strange since I didn't download it and an app is automatically installed on my phone.

    MacBook Pro won’t turn on

    Hi guys, I have a 2016 MacBook Pro 13" that is refusing to turn its screen on. I am fairly sure the Mac itself is on because I still can get the caps lock light to turn on, however the screen is black and does not change to show loading screens or anything. I've tried turning brightness up in case it was that, tried turning it off and on and most of the advice on the help page but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated!

    Encrypted iPhone Backup - HELP!

    So, I guess I know the answer to this one already, but promised my sister I'd try everything...

    She has a couple of encrypted backups on her computer from her iPhone. They contain pictures from a couple of years span - 2015 to 2018 - where she was travelling the world.

    We've tried everything to get them back, unlock the backs ups etc etc.

    She has no idea what the password is (and believe me we've tried quite a few!), nor does she remember setting a password.

    So... anything we can do?

    She'd happily pay for a program or do whatever it takes, but as I've explained to her, there's no way I know of, paid or unpaid.

    Someone want to prove me wrong pretty please?!

    My iMessage thread to my boyfriend RANDOMLY split- is this a glitch?

    I have an Iphone, and do not have my phone number linked to a computer (so it's not the message app on a Mac interfering, etc).

    I have only had one thread with my boyfriend, ever. Suddenly our messages split into two threads after a weird delay on my phone. One had the majority of our texts, and the other had a bunch of random texts that go back to the beginning of the year. My texts were being delivered but "delivered" wouldn't show up on my end.

    I restarted my phone, and it went back to normal. I'm just curious if this is a common glitch or if there is an explanation for it.

    MacBook broken in half any way to retrieve data

    I have a 2018 MacBook few weeks ago it was snapped in half at the hinges -long story.

    I recently replaced it with a different brand but I have important files I need from my MacBook. Anyway that I can still try to recover my data ? I've tried plug it in via hdmi cord to my television but nothing happens. The keyboard is still making sounds. Here's a picture as well:

    Also I was told by a repair shop this would be considered non repairable. Is there any hope or should I sell for parts ?

    iPhone 11 Pro Restarts When Using Camera

    Hi, I have an iPhone 11 Pro (13.4.1). Occasionally, when I open the camera and take a picture, the phone goes black, a spinning wheel appears for a few seconds and then it takes me back to the face ID or passcode screen. It's very annoying. I checked to see if there was a software update, but it says it's up to date. Does anyone have a solution to this?

    help reinstalling mac os x snow leopard on an a1207 imac?

    this old imac is currently running ubuntu 14. I cant just download the file from the mac store because I don't have a mac except the one i'm working on. id rather not wait for a disk to be mailed to me. if there's any way i can create bootable media for mac osx snow leopard from my PC to be used on this imac, please tell me. i just wanna use garageband lol.

    I have turned off microphone/camera access tab under settings-safari, but when I go to a website&want to upload a photo, it allows access to photo library. I have microphone and camera off for all apps on all individual app settings. How do I stop this?

    Since updating to macOS Catalina, my MacBook Pro makes alert sounds (iMessage, Discord, etc) when closed.

    As far as I can remember, I never had this issue. It isn't consistent either. It seems that the longer the computer has been closed for, the more likely it is to start making alert sounds as if it were awake. It's possible that it's related to some setting I can't determine, or it may be related to my recent upgrade to macOS Catalina. I'm finding very few others having this issue online. Any ideas?

    the other day i tried downloading steam on my mac and it told me i needed a case insensitive disk, so i went into utilities and deleted my disk and made a new one that wasn't case sensitive, my mac died before i could reinstall catalina on the new disk and i booted it up and it had a file with a question mark flashing, i tried going into utilities but it sent me into internet recovery mode, when i did that it made me reinstall mountain lion and now i can't reinstall catalina

    i've tried installing it from the app store, tells me i need 10.9 or later, i've tried installing it from the apple downloads page, all it does is redirect me to the app store, please help :(

    Now that I'm working from home, I'd like to buy a monitor that will support both my personal apple devices and my work laptop, a Lenovo think pad. My personal laptop is a 2015 Macbook Air (will probably replace it with the new model soon), and I also have a 2018 iPad Pro (the kind that connects with a USB C). I'd love to find something that costs less than $300 and works with all three devices; I really like the Acer 16:9 touch screen monitor, but I can't tell if it will work with my Apple devices.

    I'd be super grateful for advice about the Acer monitor, but any considerations or recommendations are welcome too!

    External hard drive turns off computer

    Hi. I have a Seagate 1TB external hard drive I've been using for a while with my late 2012 mac mini for quite a while. I'm having memory issues and have been trying to back up my computer with time machine. I tried it once, it failed. Tried again, and now whenever I connect my external hard drive to my mac mini (and mbp), it restarts the computer and flashes a scary looking screen that says "your computer restarted because of a problem" and continues to reboot

    Without the external hard drives the computer works fine, but it's that drive that is the issue

    Anybody have an idea what I did/what I do? I'm hoping I didnt corrupt the whole thing cuz I have a lot of sentimental pictures on them.

    A question regarding Apple's online trade in program via mail

    I'm an illustrator and have been using a 1st gen iPad pro as a drawing tablet for the past four years, and wanted to trade it in to buy a 4th gen iPad pro online through Apple. Just wanted to ask if the new tablet will come with the trade-in box, or if the shipments are staggered? I have some illustration deadlines coming up so I'd prefer not to wait too long if they are staggered. Anyone have experience with this trade-in program via mail?

    Slight bright spot about 1-2 inches above the home button on 3rd gen iPad Air

    I recently noticed a bright spot on the display of my 3rd gen iPad Air that's about 1 or 2 inches above the home button. It only stands out on lighter backgrounds. I primarily use dark mode and darker backgrounds so I have no idea how long it has been there, but now that I've noticed it I can't unsee it. The device is still under limited warranty that expires in August. I've contacted Apple, and they've suggested bringing it to an authorized dealer that's about an hour and a half away, or of course send it in and wait and see. Just curious if this is worth bothering with? Has anyone else experienced the same?

    Hello I bough a gift card on the us and It won’t work on Mexico

    I bough my girl a gift card in the Us and tried to send it to her but it wouldn't work so she gave me her account and I tried buying Minecraft for her in the us so I changed the region and it worked on my side then she tried to download the game and it said that she needs to be in the us or something I don't know what to do anyone have a fix?

    iPhone XS Max Overnight Battery Drain

    Recently have been facing some overnight battery drain for my XS Max. Last night I went to bed with it at 99% after being off the charger a hour. Woke up at 81% and no apps seemed to use battery during the night, after checking the battery health app. Battery health is at 96%. Bought one month after release. Anyone else facing this?

    iMovie not working on upgraded 2011 mbp

    iMovie on 2011 MBP

    I purchased a late 2011 mbp and upgraded it to 16gb ram and 500gb ssd but i can't even edit simple 1080p videos in iMovie. it is extremely slow and after waiting 10 hours for it to export a 15 minute video that didn't even have effects, the video is loaded with a bunch of pink and green glitch looking images. is there anything i can do or is the graphics card just too old to handle video editing
