For example I have an app "double commander", it doesn't have full disk access, but It has selected -network volumes, -downloads folder, -documents folder, -desktop folder nothing else. But I'm able to navigate through app to unlisted folders, for example "/system" and "/users". And not only navigate - I can preview files from those destination in "double commander" app. Is something broken in my system? Or this behaviour is supposed to be like this? [link] [comments]  | ||

| How do I sync iPhone without backing up in Catalina?? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 06:33 PM PDT I have googled this a lot, and searched YouTube, but all the results are how to backup with Catalina in general. In High Sierra I found some code that goes in terminal that skips the backup and just syncs. But now I can't find that and Catalina doesn't even seem to have the option to skip. Often I just want to get a song from iTunes onto my phone and don't want to go through the whole backup. Can anyone help? Am I being super dense and missing something obvious? [link] [comments]  | ||

I had a aching to play Homeworld Remastered. I've created a new volume for 10.14 but I'm confused by what I've been reading. Is there no way to install 10.14 on that volume? When I move the mouse from the external monitor screen to the notebook my notebook screen locks up and requires me to use my password. Any idea how I can stop this from happening. I am having a presentation at home tomorrow and I prepared everything, the things that I am gonna say on a word document and the presentation on a keynote file! But here's the thing, I am using a second monitor on my mac, and so I thought about putting the presentation on one screen and the word document on another screen (to be able to read some of my notes). I have put some animation in the presentation so I need to press the "Play" button in order for everything to show up as I want. Every time I press the Play button, Keynote takes both screen, one screen as a "Presenter display" showing useless information (for me) and the other showing the main presentation, and this drives me crazy as I can't use my second screen to read my notes! No problems whatsoever until last Saturday when my macbook pro 2017 would suddenly get hot af while on safari. The fans would go crazy even just browsing on there. Same thing with chrome but safari is even worse which means I'm now stuck with chrome as a temporary "solution". Also, my battery suddenly goes down super fast. It goes down around 30% in less than half an hour if I browse on safari and listen to music on apple music simultaneously and about 70% down in 2 hours when I just browse. Condition says it's normal. Thinking the latest update was to blame I attempted to roll back to the last time machine back up from before the problem began in recovery mode. Unfortunately something went wrong in the process. MacBook now boots to flashing question mark folder. Attempted an internet recovery but only got a series of error messages (most often -1008F). I've tried to use a bootable USB drive but I can't even get the option to boot to it. Anyone got any advice? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Why do my OneDrive files take up space on my Macbook's SSD? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 11:04 AM PDT OneDrive is supposed to be cloud storage. I know that you can download files if you want them locally too, but I have some very large video files that are now taking up so much SSD space, and I do not need them locally stored at all. I have selected the "free up space" option on all of them, but when I go to see my system storage, they all still show up and are counted as taking up SSD space. I don't really get the point of cloud storage if it's gonna just take up local space too. Is there a setting I can change or something? [link] [comments]  | ||
