Magic Keyboard, First Impressions Posted: 23 Apr 2020 12:09 PM PDT Love it. The keyboard is perfect. Feels amazing. No build quality issues on mine whatsoever. I wish the angle would go back a bit more but it solves my #1 issue with the iPad and the Smart Keyboard Folio case: when it's on my countertop and I want to unlock, I don't have to crouch down for FaceID to work. I'm 6' tall and it unlocks when I'm standing in front of the unit. I never hooked my iPad 12" Pro to a trackpad before so this is my first time using a trackpad with the iPad. Feels great. Within just a couple minutes I found myself using the trackpad instinctively when it felt right, yet still touching the screen when it felt right, too. Everything feels natural. The weight doesn't impact me as much as I thought it would. My plan for this is as a countertop home for my iPad. Taking it off the keyboard is much easier than the Smart Keyboard Folio case, and I tend to take it off a lot. I think one of the subtle differences between this and the Smart Keyboard Folio case is that the iPad is about 1 inch higher with this case. It doesn't sit on the case itself. I think that makes FaceID work better, the angle work better (even if it doesn't go back as far as you may want), and touching the screen a bit better. No regrets. This post was the 1st thing I typed on it. [link] [comments]
Order and shipping info for people waiting Posted: 23 Apr 2020 07:52 AM PDT For those also waiting, I'm going to post what I have. So I ordered an iPad Pro 11" 256 GB, pencil, and magic keyboard from Apple on Friday, April 17. Shipping Timeline: Pencil: April 23-27 iPad: April 27-May 4 MK: May 5-12 It seems to be over a week delayed for the iPad now as far as processing goes. Anyone else seeing similar results? Shipping to East Coast. [link] [comments]

Would you rather have the toolbar hide or remain persistent on Safari? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 10:28 AM PDT It used to be persistent, but ever since iOS 8 or iOS 9 the toolbar would hide. Honestly, with how big the iPad display is, even the tall iPhones nowadays should have persistent toolbars with an option to auto hide it. I'm trying to be productive with my Magic Keyboard and the toolbar keeps shifting my content, I don't know where my tabs are to use keyboard shortcuts, I barely gain any more screen real estate. These buttons should always be available regardless imo... [link] [comments]
Ipad Magic Keyboard not connecting (fix) Posted: 23 Apr 2020 12:56 PM PDT Make sure your software is updated to 13.4.1! I feel like an idiot because I tried to connect and it wasn't working- figured I'd post because it may help someone. PS-This keyboard is AMAZING [link] [comments]
Skype and Multitasking on iPad Posted: 23 Apr 2020 12:17 PM PDT I get together with friends each month to play Dungeons & Dragons. Like so many others, we have moved our game to video conferencing for remote play. We've been using Skype and I've been joining the calls with my 9.7" iPad Pro. It's a fine experience but I have noticed that when I try to split screen with Skype and Safari or use Slide Over with Safari, everyone on the call says my video stops. Does anyone know if this is a limitation of Skype as an app or if it is because of the system resource constraints of my iPad Pro? I'm thinking it may just be my iPad showing its age but wondering if the same thing happens on a 2020 iPad Pro. [link] [comments]

Digital note taking apps that sync between iPad and Windows laptop—OneNote? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 08:49 AM PDT Hello! Going to college in the fall and plan on purchasing a new iPad+Apple Pencil for digital note taking and a Windows laptop for other schoolwork. I've seen some of the apps like Goodnotes and Notability for digital note taking on the iPad, but it seems as if these do not sync/allow to be edited on a Windows laptop. I would like to be able to type in the notes if it's more of a fast-paced lecture but still be able to later review it and edit it as needed. It looks like OneNote would be a good option, but I have seen people much prefer Goodnotes or Notability. What do you all think? [link] [comments]
Proper way to store apple pen 2 (long term) Posted: 23 Apr 2020 12:14 PM PDT Since a lot of people are not gonna use their apple pen for a long time does anyone have an idea about the proper way to store the apple pen without damaging the battery ? im probably gonna put it in a drawer for 4-5 months until school starts again [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Apr 2020 02:03 PM PDT Hey, Does anyone know if you can use the trackpad on the magic keyboard to control the mouse when using Sidecar? I am able to use the keyboard for typing, but it would really hit the spot if I was able to control the mouse on my mac with the trackpad as well. [link] [comments]
Is there a clicky pen style case for Apple Pencil 2? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 10:00 AM PDT I was really wondering about this for a while. It's mainly for the purpose of protecting the tips, but I lose the little tip covers too easily. Is there some sort of case where I can use it like an old fashioned "click" ballpoint? Couldn't find any after a search. [link] [comments]
Magic Keyboard Reviews - Negative? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 01:33 PM PDT Anyone having a bad experience with their magic keyboard? I've been reading plenty of reviews and the keyboard seems to be universally praised. Anyone not liking their magic keyboard? I ordered one today after canceling my first order. Apps to paint textures on 3D models? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 07:27 AM PDT I just got the new iPad Pro 2020 and I'm looking to do some 3D model work since it can handle it better than my first edition pro could. Does anyone know any good apps where I can import a model and paint textures onto it directly? If not, is there one where I can edit a flattened texture? I tried looking through google for one but I wasn't having much luck. Thank you guys! [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Apr 2020 07:58 AM PDT Apps with subscriptions have gotten out of hand, some apps have no business being subscription, I don't mind paying for a major upgrade every now and then, or a onetime lifetime payment option, but not subscription. Also the way some developers change to subscription leaves a bad taste in my mouth, sending out an update changing to a subscription model, not telling customers before hand, locking features already paid for behind a paywall, and outrageous subscription fees. More people are switching back to the built in apps along with Google and Microsoft apps. Also Apple should only take a 10% cut from apps. The App Store is a mess with these subscriptions. The subscription model is not sustainable and eventually I believe will fail. [link] [comments]

Apple Favorites Today widget so limited, alternatives..?? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 07:35 AM PDT Now a days there are so many ways to contact people. Not too stretch too much, let's just keep to the basics. SMS, Call , FaceTime , Email When setting up apple Favorites widget. U can only set up one action. Am I missing something? If I want to have option to sms, call and FaceTime person I have to input that same person three times and take up that many spots?? I saw a few 3rd party options but so outdated and aren't seeming to be updated anymore. What are your common quick ways of contacting people in different options? [link] [comments] |
