| Posted: 02 Apr 2020 02:56 PM PDT is there something special about the adapters that go from lightning male to USB Female or would it essentially be the same thing? i am looking to use USB peripherals on my iPad, Specifically a MIDI keyboard controller for use in Garage Band. i don't see the point in spending $20-$40 on a new dongle when a $1 adapter would work on my existing cable. My theory is that there will be a restock because the iPad Pro 2020 just got released and people will be sending in their 2018 model to buy the new one. Posted: 02 Apr 2020 11:21 AM PDT So, one possible choice is to buy the outrageously priced official VGA and HDMI adapters (for like $60 each) and always have the two on you. Another option that I saw is using ExCast DUO (35$), but it needs to be powered up and I'm not sure it'll work with wifi ipads as you have to activate the personal hotspot for some reason. In some scenarios you may not have a way to power the dongle, so I'm not convinced yet. The best option could be a 2 in 1 vga and hdmi adapter from aliexpress, that is like 18$, but who knows if it works. It's a niche item and I could not find any review for it, even on aliexpress itself. Is there any teacher/researcher/professional that solved this issue? What's your setup? [link] [comments]  | ||
