    What happens when I lock the exposure in the Camera app?

    I'm familiar with photography, so I know what it means to lock the ISO, shutter speed, focus and so on, but I'm not quite sure what happens when locking the exposure. Does that also affect ISO/shutter speed?

    Looking for a "phone operator" app to customize handling of incoming calls, texts, email.

    I can't be the only one who uses a phone as a communication device more than a game or camera. I would like to customize how it handles incoming calls and emails beyond the few basic features already provided. I'm looking for an app that can look at all incoming communication and be flexible enough to handle what happens to it, based on customizable criteria. Do you know an app that can do that?

    • I don't want it to wake me up at night, except when I do...

    • I do want it to wake me up for what I consider important: calls or texts from a custom list of numbers, email messages from particular senders with a particular string within the subject line.

    • I want to list junk numbers that can be ignored.

    • I want unlisted numbers, 800/888/866/... numbers to go straight to voice mail.

    • I want a reminder when I'm online between 9 to 5 on weekdays that I'm paying by the minute for this call.

    • I want to ignore some callers outside office hours.

    • I want to open another app when a specific number calls.

    • I want, I want, I want...

    Alarm glitch? Help please.

    Hello all, I'm on iOS 13.4.1 on the regular iPhone 11.

    So I am a fairly heavy sleeper. If I have to be up at 0600, I start my first alarm at 0445. Then 0459. Then 0510. Then every five minutes after.

    I'll wake up at the second alarm, but I have a bad habit of falling back asleep, so I do every five minutes to keep myself sleeping lightly.

    Anyways this morning, after waking up to my first alarm I hit snooze. I fell back asleep, and I woke up to my wife telling me I was late at 0615.

    I go to grab my phone, and it's frozen on the "snooze" screen that pops up when the alarm goes off, however it wasn't making any noise and I couldn't do anything. It was flashing like the alarm was going off, however I couldn't press anything, I couldn't go home, nothing was working. If I held down the power button Siri pops up as usual, but couldn't register anything I was saying. I tried to screen record but I couldn't even pull down my swipe menu.

    I was able to power my phone off, and when I turned it back on all of my alarms started going off at once, like it froze before and after restarting they all played catch up, it it said it had like 7 alarm notifications.

    I've never had this issue before, and it's a pretty big deal because I'm in the military and being late is a big no no.

    If anyone has had any experience like this or could think of a way to fix it that would be appreciated. I would prefer to not go buy a separate alarm system, however this has me very sketched out about happening again and I'm hoping it's not a common issue.

    Spotify music quality vs battery life

    Hello, I have an iPhone X on ios 13.3 and very recently my iPhone started having this problem, seemingly out of nowhere.

    First my iPhone froze, prefaced first my a massive slowdown (similar to the extreme low power mode that occurs when the phone is at extremely low battery). I then decided to force restart the phone, however upon force restarting, the phone shortly freezes.

    At this point, I have tried resetting all settings and erasing the phone and restoring from a backup. These seemed to fix the problem temporarily but a few hours later the problem came back.

    The only way I have been able to run ios 6 on it is through a dualboot. I want to downgrade back to ios 6 so I can have better performance is there any way I can do this?

    I have been using the books app but I feel like there has to be something better than that. Books app is difficult to use on an iPad. It's very easy to mess up the page you are on.

    One of my main reasons to not switch to iOS is the keyboard.

    Is there any 3rd party keyboard app that has the comma and dot on first page, at 1 click of distance, and that it also has autocorrect?

    Client certificate authentication fails with iOS 13.4.1 (workes with 13.2.2)

    I've previously posted this question on stackexchange and since then further investigated the issue.

    The problem seems to be the latest iOS (13.4.1), which fails to send the client certificate upon authentication requests.

    To test this, I've set up a webserver, requiring a client certificate for authentication. The client certificate is installed on the iPhone. If I navigate to the website, iOS states that a client certificate is required and asks to use the installed one. Once I press continue the connection fails as no certificate is presented to the server.

    Exactly the same setup on iOS 13.2.2 works as expected. Client certificate is installed, website is accessed, iOS asks about sending the certificate, iOS does so and access works fine.

    I've written a bug report to Apple but have yet to hear from them. I have also posted this on stackexchange, to broaden my audience, I hope this is okay.

    Update: iPadOS 13.3.1 also works as expected.

    Does anyone else experience this issue or is this an isolated case for me? I've even hard-reset the iPhone to check if it was a problem with my setup.

    Even if I delete Files from Files app, it still store that data in Document & Data and eats up space. Is there any fix for that ?

    I want to download large pdf file (around 400mb). Browser Safari will do, but often than not the screen closed and the download restarted.

    Do you have any suggestion for an app for downloading?

    Home Screen Bookmark questions

    I put one of my bookmarks in my home screen and every time i close the bookmark and reopen, it stayed on the same page i left it on shouldn't it open to the page i bookmarked it on? Also how do i refresh and navigate back and forward?

    Volume slider glitch..

    Every time a new notification comes up when I'm using my iPhone, my volume slider also appears without me changing the volume and appears to go down in the animation.... Feels like a glitch. Anyone else experiencing this? Currently running on iOS 13.4.1...

    Few questions from a potential Android convert (SMB, Files app, CalDav/CardDav and Not using iCloud)

    Full disclosure first, I'm on mobile so apologies for formatting if it is not the best.

    I've been a long time Android user, but recently got intrigued by iPhone again purely for my dislike of Google growing. My last iPhone was a 5S so I know iOS has likely come a long way.

    My Android will never get another OS update, security patched are ALWAYS at least 4 months behind and frankly, I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars to buy another device that will get 1 more OS update and that is it. It's disheartening knowing my money is purchasing a stagnant device.

    Anyways, I use my phone for a myriad of use cases and I know that a lot of the apps I use have iOS versions or there are acceptable variants. However, I have a few concerns I'd like user's opinions on:

    1. I will not be using iCloud storage at all. I have a Synology NAS as well as my company's own storage solution. Is there a smooth way to omit iCloud storage as the primary option and save downloaded documents to the device and/or an alternative location?

    2. I read that SMB functionality is now in iOS. How is it? Is it usable for small files and the occasional medium (50-100MB file)?

    3. Photos and Videos. Can these be saved to the device and not iCloud? Synology Moments has auto backup which is great, but I'd hate for iOS to automatically upload to iCloud as well.

    4. CardDav and CalDav support on apple contacts and calendar apps? I remember loving the seamlessness of those apps, but can't seem to find a clear answer as to whether they support that technology.

    5. Does the files app sufficiently mimic a file browser? I remember that being my biggest gripe about iOS back in the day. I use my phone heavily as a mini computer creating folders within folders, searching for files, organizing documents, etc...

    Thanks for all who took the time to read and/or answer. It's much appreciated! I'm heavily conflicted on if I should make the jump from my beloved Android, but perhaps these questions will help me decide.
