Without jailbreaking, is there an alarm app (or something) that I could use to be used through an external speaker? (I have a portable speaker that also allows for both aux cables and bluetooth). This morning, a "Millionaire Live" app showed up on my home screen - it's in my App Store purchases (it's a free app) - and I had no recollection of ever downloading it. In fact, I know I didn't. I deleted it right away. And then, later this evening, I have friends texting me left and right asking why I'm liking all their Instagram photos. Like, all at once. One after the other - and multiple people. I went to Instagram, found the "Posts You've Liked" portion and was literally refreshing the page and could see that whoever had access to my account was liking photos right there and then. Now immediately I freak out, change the password to everything. My Insta, my Facebook (which are connected), I check my bank account to see if anything's wonky and then I remembered the mysterious app and realized "hmm I wonder if my phone's been compromised." I changed my Apple ID password and reset all settings on my phone but has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them before? Am I out of the woods? And is there anything else I should do? | Sound not working but ringer sounds are? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:13 PM PDT I dropped my phone on wet grass and there's a good chance my phone took on water and my iPhone audio doesn't work but my ringer sounds (alerts, phone speaker) do work. When I look at my volume I'm control center it shows the headphone symbol but doesn't play audio. I also tried cleaning out the headphone jack and restarting my phone. My SIM card does not detect water damage either so hopefully someone can help me. But my speakers still work so idk [link] [comments]  |
| Iconservicesagent eating all my CPU Posted: 18 Apr 2020 08:47 PM PDT I have a Seagate external hard drive with several TB of storage on it, with a ton of custom icons attached. But whenever I try to access the files, my computer freaks out and uses 10+ GB of RAM and over 100% of my CPU on Iconservicesagent to load the custom icons. I've tried multiple solutions to fix iconservicesagent itself, but to no avail. I've set up commands to killall iconservicesagent every few seconds, but it's not enough to make things work properly. I created a "mkdir ${TMPDIR}/com.apple.IconServices" folder for everything to be stored in, but it broke through after a couple minutes and I can't replicate that brief success. So now I just want to delete all the custom icons I have and see if I can negate the issue that way. But I don't know how to batch delete/restore to default on the custom icons. I've tried using command terminal to find "Icon?" and delete, but either it's not working or my commands are off (which is totally possible, as I'm no good at programming). Is there a way to batch delete custom icons by going to the directory above? And if I do have to manually delete the icons one by one, is there a way to do it without accessing the files themselves (because that makes iconservicesagent flair up and cripple my computer)? If not, has anyone found any other workarounds for iconservicesagent or will updating my mac to 10.15 help any? I'm running Mojave 10.14.6 on a MacBook Pro 2015, although these problems persist when I've plugged my hard drive into other Macs, as well. [link] [comments]  |

I have reinstalled MacOS, erased hard drive, reset SMC, NVRAM, apple diagnostics, created a test account, terminal, first aid, everything i read online. A couple things I have noticed are:

| MAC Bootable USB Installation - Downgrade MAC OS Posted: 18 Apr 2020 08:32 PM PDT Hi guys I can't downgrade my OS Macbook Pro (13 inch, Mid 2012) from Catalina to El Capitan. My problem is my bootable usb doesn't appear in the startup. Here's som info about my usb flash disk https://prnt.sc/s1xrdh You can see in the screenshot that the flash disk is not available as an option for startup, the disk is not bootable but the installer says yes. Not sure if the problem is the flash disk or I miss something regarding formating the disk? Got any ideas? I have an eMac that I have not used for several years so was looking to get rid of. Before doing so, I wanted to make sure any documents or pictures were saved elsewhere so I don't lose them forever. When I turned on the computer, the screen is black! It sounds like it is running. The power light is still on, I hear the fan, etc. But I can't see anything to do anything with whatever is on the hard drive. I tried attaching an external (Dell) monitor but the monitor kept going into sleep mode. Then I got a usb to usb transfer cable in hopes that I can then see the hard drive of the eMac when I attach it to this MacBook Air here. It kept wanting me to download software, but of course I can't download software onto the eMac because I can't see it. The I tried the migration application in the utilities folder, but that could never find a source either. Anybody have any ideas how I can access the files on the eMac's hard drive? Thanks! | Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:23 PM PDT Hi all, My IMac (2012, late model) is extremely slow whenever I turn it on. Once it's going it's ok, but especially the first 10 minutes are annoyingly slow. I have checked the storage, that's not an issue with 600gb+ left. It does not automatically start up any application when turning the IMac on, so that does not slow the process down. Side question; a friend of mine is going to use the IMac for a few weeks, so I've made a different empty user profile for him. We have started face timeing while watching a movie at the same time, but the problem is being on facetime the computer volume decreases. I don't have a TV which I can watch the movie on so I rely on the sound from my sister's movie and subtitles to follow along. No matter how high I raise the computer volume or video volume its barely audible. So obviously this is a non-problem but if anyone knows an easy fix this would greatly improve movie Netflix dates, thank you! [link] [comments]  |

At that time I received confirmation that the backup had been completed successfully. My computer is now telling I've never backed it up. I'm functionally losing everything from 2016 onwards, maybe 2014, so I'm just trying to make sure it's not gone gone (or conversely, that it is). Is there anything that can be done to fix this? The main one is set to be 5ghz only (2.4 is way to crowded in my house) but the second one will only allow me both to stay on, I can't disable either. This is by going into airport utility/Wireless/Wireless Options. Is it possible to turn off 2.4 on all my airports? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:45 PM PDT Hi, my iPhone XR screen is cracked in the bottom corner of the screen which has created hairline cracks across the screen. I haven't been able to afford to fix it yet and black spots started appearing (what I assume to be the LCD screen leaking?) and now, 5 months later, the screen is now perhaps 3/4 black with a faded screen and multicoloured lines across it. Despite this, the screen responds to touch completely fine. Does this qualify as a cracked screen (front only) which is £196 to replace or does this count as liquid/water damage or screen or display quality (which is £324)? I assumed it was the higher price but didn't want to pay the steeper price just in case it wasn't. Thanks for your help [link] [comments]  |
