Posted: 02 Apr 2020 09:14 PM PDT So I'm currently working from home because of the pandemic and I decided to leave my laptop on since I had a bunch of stuff I need to work on the next day and it would save me some time if I left some stuff open. So it's 12 am and I get into bed - (I haven't touched the laptop for 7 hours at this point after work and I just closed laptop so that my external monitor shuts off) and I hear a screenshot noise... which freaked me out since I had my sound all the way up. This has never happened before. Any ideas?

| iPhone X iMessage stuck / won’t activate after iCloud breach Posted: 02 Apr 2020 10:10 PM PDT So I'll try to spell this out with as much detail as possible, because calling Apple support didn't help and unfortunately Apple stores and my carrier stores are closed thanks to covid-19. I have had my iPhone X for well over two or three years now. Don't own any other Apple devices. I woke up today to a notification saying my iMessage couldn't activate all of a sudden. I also got tons of spam messages in iMessage all in Chinese with ads prominent. I immediately started putting the pieces together first thing in the morning after waking up, figuring my AppleID was breached. I found a Mac book 13" added to my account which I don't own one of, but my passwords and whatnot weren't changed. Only evidence was the added MacBook, the spam and iMessage activation. Now, after removing the iMac and changing my password (they didn't actually lock me out of my account) I can't get iMessage and Facetime to activate using my phone number. I can make calls, get SMS messages and use my appleID, but I can't get iMessage or FaceTime to activate with my phone number again. I either get activation unsuccessful message or stuck on waiting for activation. I've done the whole disable and re-enable both after restarting, signing out and back in, and apple support gave me no different advice other than to wait a day and contact my mobile provider. Since I can still make phone calls and send SMS I figured it's probably not my mobile provider. Any advice would be awesome. I even wrote my SIM card number down from my chip and compared it to the one displayed on my phone, and it checks out. The only thing I've seen that I haven't tried is deregistering and reregistering my phone number from iMessage, but i couldn't find any other data to back that up. | AirPod Pros Rattling- What’s the root cause from an engineering standpoint?! Posted: 02 Apr 2020 08:12 PM PDT Okay, so I see everywhere online people are having the same problem I am. I've owned my AirPod pros for four months, and they just started "rattling" when I walk, only when noise canceling or transparency mode are turned on. There is also this awful blown speaker-like sound that happens when I'm talking on the phone. People say Apple will replace them then the problem just comes back after a few more months. Anyone know the root cause of the problem or how to avoid it? I'm going to get mine replaced but am curious whether Apple has actually acknowledged and addressed the issue by now. Posted: 02 Apr 2020 10:42 PM PDT iPhone screen broke a couple of weeks ago and I made a case two days before my AppleCare+ expired, but all the stores are closed and will be for the foreseeable future so I can't get it replaced. The rep said Apple will take into account the time the case was opened. Any Apple support employees that can shed light on this? | Unable to create a bootable usb version of Sierra Posted: 02 Apr 2020 09:19 PM PDT I'm running Catalina and I get error messages when trying to create a bootable USB version of Sierra to reinstall macOS on an older 2010 macbook pro that I have. The error I get when trying to build the bootable USB is:
I've tried just about everything including changing the system time and still keep getting this message. I've already formatted the USB with the scheme of GUID partition map and with Mac OS Extended format. Anyone also experience this issue and resolved it? [link] [comments]  |
| I'm trying to add audiobooks to my phone. Posted: 02 Apr 2020 09:05 PM PDT I have successfully added audiobooks to the Apple Books app by dragging and dropping them in. I can successfully play the audiobooks thru the Books app on my computer. I cannot, however, seem to add them to my phone. Any idea how I can get this to work? | OSX Mail stuck on"Moving Messages" Posted: 02 Apr 2020 01:48 PM PDT For the past 3 days I've seen "Moving message 1 of 64" at the bottom of the sidebar in the Mac Mail App. (See screenshot attached). My mail is not syncing correctly (on my MBP) while this is the case. Note: Also seen occasional unread mail count badges on a couple of folders. There are no unread messages in these folders and clicking on the folder makes the unread badge disappear. This comes and goes tho and it not consistent.

| Photos from MacBook won't upload to iCloud Posted: 02 Apr 2020 03:59 PM PDT I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch (2011) running MacOS High Sierra and I have a few thousand photos on the Photos app that I want to upload to iCloud. I bought enough iCloud storage, turned on iCloud in the settings, and waited for them to upload for about 3 days. When I go to iCloud.com and look at my photos, all my albums from the Photos app are there, but none of the photos. They're just empty albums. There's no progress bar or anything either. Photos from my iPhone uploaded to iCloud just fine, it's just the ones from my computer that won't work. I had a new hard drive installed on my computer a few years ago, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas why they won't upload? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]  |

I've reset network settings, restarted my phone, and it still can't find the headphones. | How do I set up HomePod so that it’s only visible on one part of the network? Posted: 02 Apr 2020 12:29 PM PDT Hi, applehelpers, I'm trying to set up a HomePod so that it's only visible to one network user. (I don't want everyone else's phone to always have it show up as an AirPlay destination.) I don't know exactly how HomePod is discovered on the network (does Apple still use bonjour?), so I'm not sure how to isolate it. On my network, though, i have multiple Wi-Fi networks that talk to each other via Ethernet (I have two routers each making a 2.4 and a 5 ghz network, with one router's WAN port connected to one of the other's LAN port, so it's all one big network). Apple TVs that connect to one Wi-Fi network appear as airplay destinations for users on another, so I know the answer is more complicated than doing that. Any ideas? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

I would love to take out the 500 GB SSD and turn it into an external hard drive. What is the easiest and cleanest way to accomplish this? I would love to just have something that protects it a little from the elements and has some high speed ports on it (old or new lightning would be great but even USB 3.0). How do I go about this? | IPHONE 6s Plus not syncing - third party cable Posted: 02 Apr 2020 06:15 PM PDT Hey all, I've been having this issue recently, where my phone charges when connected to my mac, but doesn't want to sync. I am using a third-party charger, but the last time I've even had an apple charger was the fall of 2018. So, it's been working ever since then. The prob I'm having is it's showing up, then disappearing, while it's still charging. It won't even sync anything. I used my dad's apple charger, and it worked effortlessly.
