Why doesn’t anyone recommend Notes app?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2020 11:30 AM PDT

I have read multiple posts from people recommending Goodnotes, Notability, Evernotes et al.

However, I've been using the Apple's native Notes app and have found it to be pretty good. As far as providing the functionality of a digital notebook is concerned, Notes does pretty good. Effectively acting as notebook with infinite page length.

For someone wanting to use Notes, with some basic discipline at your end for folder management, you can actually do quite fine with Notes.

Still, I have really not seen anyone endorsing this app?

Question: Does Notes have any obvious issue that I haven't come across yet? Or the paid apps are providing something that Notes doesn't?

How to use any Apple keyboard (correct keys) with Windows

    Posted: 29 Apr 2020 05:50 AM PDT

Yesterday I bought a Magic Keyboard 2 to use with my MBP and Windows PC. I wanted to use the media keys on Windows and found out that BootCamp doesn't work that well on a PC. After a lot of trial and error with different programs I came across SharpKeys. With SharpKeys you can basically map any key to another key by adding the edit to its list. So you select "F12" for instance and add the "volume up" function to it. Save changes, restart your PC and voila: it works.

I've seen so many people struggling to find a way to use the magic keyboard function keys on Windows that I felt the need to post this. SharpKeys works really well and will help anybody with this issue. Hope it'll help you too!
