    Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't apps hold your place even when they're in the background? I'm not sure how iOS manages this and if there's an actual time until it times out or there's some other trigger that causes the app to refresh but I'm constantly finding that if I switch to another app to perhaps copy some text or quickly do another task that when I get back to the first app my place has been lost and it's as if I'm opening the app fresh all over again. Reddit itself being one of the highest culprits. What am I missing and is there anything I can do to help alleviate the problem? Yes background refresh is enabled and no I'm not in low power mode.

    [Question] How to change the default notification sound for third party applications?

    Is this still not possible? Currently, Tri-tone is the notification sound. Is there a way to change it to match the text sound?

    Hell I noticed there used to be a sound spot for twitter back in the day but they removed it because it never a rlly worked.

    iPad Pro 10.5 (2017) won't turn on

    I have been using an iPad Pro for around a year and a half now. I bought it in 2017, but didn't use it until October 2018 because i didn't really need it. So until December 2019, everything was smooth, and I didn't encounter any problems. However, it started rebooting randomly in December. At first, I dismissed the problem, thinking it was just a glitch because of too many background apps. However, later on, it started turning off at random times, and wouldn't turn on for the whole day. After charging it for quite a while, it would turn back on.

    But the problems didn't stop here

    It would now start to freeze then turn off, then turn back on, and continue this boot loop cycle until I did a forced restart. I then went on a trip to the USA (i live in the UAE), during which my iPad barely had any problems. But once I came back, the problems started again, but with a doubled intensity. Now my iPad turns off for days and weeks, and turns on for a day and a half at maximum. I still have no idea regarding the cause of the problem, and would like to know if others had the same problem as me, and how they resolved it.

    I have tried many solutions we could find on internet, including things such as "burping" my iPad.

    Theories: I established quite a few theories regarding the cause, and they will be sorted by most realistic to less realistic from up to down:

    1- The battery is faulty, which apparently was a recurrent problem in the 10.5 inch model, but I checked my battery health and it was at 88% of its maximum capacity, with a year of near inactivity and a year of mid to heavy activity. 2- I have a malware on my iPad which runs when connected to WiFi: In the US, I would keep my iPad on me for safety reasons, and as stated before, it had little to now problems. What is worth noting is that the hotel WiFi was a public one, which means when I left the hotel or when I would turn my iPad off the WiFi would disconnect, and I was mostly touring the streets, where once again there wasn't WiFi. In the UAE, I am connected to my home WiFi, which is a private one, and my iPad stays connected to it even when the screen is off.

    3- All my cables and plugs were faulty and fried my iPad. In France and the UAE, the electrical intensity deliver by the electrical sockets is around 230-250 V, whereas in the US it is around 100-120 . Therefore, the electricity delivered by the Emirati and French sockets fried my iPad and left the battery fucked.

    This final theory is something I came up with in a moment of pure despair, especially in times where I cannot being my iPad at any kind of repair store for health and safety reasons.

    I anyone could help, that would be amazing!

    PS- I posted this here to see if it could be an iOS problem as it still turns on rarely

    Do I need to enable messages in iCloud to have syncing across my devices? I disabled and deleted it a few moments ago but am wondering if this will now remove all my messages from my device after 30 days.

    I can not recall ever turning this on so that is why I disabled. Support documents are not good around explaining what happens if I disable and delete.

    Edit: I want to keep all my messages, history, attachments and all forever. I never needed iCloud before I thought. I usually back up periodically to my external hard drive. Syncing always works too to my Mac.

    How can I disable those mails from Apple Developer? I wanted to have dev account but realised it was paid, so I closed the website, and now they’re sending me those emails. Is there any way to opt out of this enrollment?

    Bug With Communications Limits?

    So it appears that if you use an Exchange/Office 365 account and communication limits, said kid can add their contacts they want to talk to to their synced address book, and get around the parental control.

    Has anyone else seen this?

    Auto switch dark / light mode bug?

    It just randomly refuses to switch to dark mode at sunset. Have to go into setting change it to custom schedule (stays light) then change back to sunset to sunrise before it switches. Am I the only one that's experienced this repeatedly on iPad?

    PS: I know you can enable it manually from control center it's just a little annoying 😂
