Every advertisement for iPhone’s have 9:41 set as the time. Posted: 01 Mar 2020 12:20 AM PST This is because in 2007, Steve Jobs first announced the iPhone at that time. The 41 minute presentation leading up to the reveal of the first iPhone was planned perfectly. And the first photo of the iPhone showed the time 9:41, at exactly 9:41am. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Mar 2020 01:25 AM PST I was surprised that my 10 year old son was able to install apps on his iPad without first asking for permission from a parent through iOS. He was for example able to install TikTok but I did not recall granting permission on my iPhone. As it turns out he can work-around this entire ask permission thingy because in a Family Group you can install apps that were installed by another family member. He just opens the App Store > clicks on his profile in the top right corner > Selects 'purchases' > then chooses a family member > next he installs the apps from there. Is this by design? This seems like an issue in Screen Time. TIL When my son tried to install TikTok from the app store he could not because me or my wife had to give consent but he was able to install it nevertheless because his 16-year old sister has it installed. iTunes has an unusual Terms & Conditions. Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:40 PM PST When agree to the Terms & Conditions for iTunes, you are agreeing to not use it to make nuclear weapons. The clause states, "You also agree that you will not use these products for….the development, design, manufacture, or production of nuclear, missile, or chemical or biological weapons." Posted: 01 Mar 2020 07:09 AM PST His there a way to toggle downtime on for a period of time or until turned off? Right now, I go into downtime in settings and schedule the period I want for the current day, but sometimes I just want it for a few hours, not every Sunday for a few hours. [link] [comments]
Is there any possible way to just transfer messages over to my new iPhone (Plz read details)? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 06:47 AM PST So I got a new iphone, but transferring my messages over has been a nightmare. Signing in to my apple account on my new phone led to my message conversations being uploaded out of order and incomplete. So I went to my local apple store, and they told me to just go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud and toggle on Messages so my messages from my old phone would load on to my new phone. After 5 days all my messages are still not available, they're still out of order, and they're still displaying the "More results will be shown once Messages finishes indexing" notice when I try searching through messages. I was told to try just resetting my new iPhone and uploading the latest backup from my old iPhone. But, here's where another problem relies. I logged out of my Apple ID on my old phone, and deleted all my emails off of it in an attempt to improve the speed of the phone. Even after logging back in to my Apple ID, and all my emails, my old iPhone is only showing 2900 of my photos. But my new one has the full 9000+. So now I'm scared if I reset my new phone and upload the backup from the old one, I'll lose most of my photos. But this could all be avoided if there was simply some manner by which I could just directly transfer all of my messages from my old phone to my new phone. TL;DR: Old Phone: missing photos, but has all my messages properly indexed. New Phone: has everything I need including all photos, but message conversations are out of order and some still missing some messages after multiple days of message indexing. How do I simply transfer all my messages from my old iPhone to the new one WITHOUT doing a complete reset and backup re-upload from iCloud? [link] [comments]

I have problems with the app store. Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:41 AM PST So i have purchased 2x 15$ gift cards. Right now, i have 30.61$ on my account, and i wanted to purchase "LumaFusion" which at the moment is 29.99$. The problem is, everytime i try to purchase the app it says i have insufficient funds, which is clearly not the case. The only thing i tried so far was restarting the device, but that didn't help. I currently own the iPhone 11, iOS version is 13.3.1 [link] [comments]
The first Apple logo isn’t what you would think. Posted: 29 Feb 2020 09:21 PM PST Originally, it featured Sir Isaac Newton sitting beneath a tree, with an apple about to fall on his head. It was designed back in 1976 and featured a phrase around the border which read "Newton…A mind forever voyaging through strange seas of thought…alone". Seems kind of dark! https://www.thelogocreative.co.uk/apple-logo-evolution-it-all-started-with-a-fruit/ [link] [comments]

Location Services randomly comes on Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:48 PM PST I have a new iPhone 11 Pro (13.3.1 installed) and Location Services randomly comes up, then goes away and drains my battery when no opened app is using it. How can I fix it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:14 PM PST My wive's iPhone 7 Plus has been failing for backup for some time due to exceeding 5GB. So every now and then I remove the photos onto our MacBook and start the backup again. But the backup size has still been pretty big (3-4GB) by only backing up the odd MB app. Last night I went through the setting on her phone and discovered that if I turned off every app in the backup settings the 'base' iCloud backup size was 2.5GB (with everything backed up it was 5.5GB. I find this odd as I have an iPhone and and iPad backup on my 5GB iCloud and still have 2GB free... Will call Apple support after but not without asking reddit first! Help! [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Feb 2020 10:37 PM PST To delete all the attachments within iMessages you could create an iTunes full backup and then use ibackupbot to edit the backup and delete the whole folder of all the attachments. Then you could restore the full backup, leaving you with your whole iMessage history intact minus the space hogging attachments. ibackupbot doesn't seem to work anymore since there's no more iTunes. Any idea how I can delete all attachments in this way now under iOS 13 and Mojave? [link] [comments]
