I️ locked myself out of my phone after changing my passcode, and now I'm at home. I'm just trying to be able to use it again, even if I️ lose all my data. I️ put it in recovery mode, and I️ click restore. The only restore option it gives me is to update to the most recent iOS and then restore, but, at some point during the update, it keeps ejecting from my computer, and I have to start over from scratch. I️ have a feeling it might be ejecting because I'm locked out of my iPhone, but I️ don't know what I️ can do about that. Any help is appreciated. I️ know this might violate rule 1, but I'm at the end of my ropes right now, since Apple support isn't available. I️ just don't know how to stop it from ejecting the update every time. | I need help with unlocking iCloud before I go crazy? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:57 AM PST My phone was messing up and not deleting photos, and I needed to free up space on my phone. So I decided to just factory reset and start over. However, I didn't know I had two factor authentication for my iCloud account. So whenever I log in to manually set up my phone, it's sending a call/text to my mobile number telling me the authentication code. however, the sim for that number is in the phone I reset.. there's no possible way I can get this code. I have no 'trustee' number set up, and I have tried to put my sim into my mates phone to see if I can get the code sent to her, but it started to factory reset her phone when I put my sim in. I recently dropped my iPhone 5s (hilariously, the day I ordered a new phone) and seem to have broken the touch screen interface -- nothing else appears amiss except the touch screen can't detect a damn thing. (All other buttons are OK.) Since a new phone's on the way, it's silly to invest the $ into fixing it, but I'd like to unlock my phone so I can use Siri for at least *some* functionality for the week 'til the new one arrives. I restarted the phone after I first realized the touch screen wasn't working, so I'm completely locked out of all functions until I enter my passcode, and when I plug it into a Macbook I just get the "unlock iphone to use accessories" message. I'd also like to avoid wiping -- there's some photos I don't want to lose that haven't been backed up. I've seen some third-party recommendations but am not sure what programs are trustworthy vs not. When I have night shift on and brightness at the lowest setting, when I scroll, there is a bright blue streak/shadow that briefly flashes following the text, videos, photos, etc. Anyone else experience this? I plugged it into my PC and put it into recovery mode and started restoring it. It then gets stuck on "waiting for iPhone" and i hear it disconnect from my PC. After a while it comes up with an error message saying "the iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4013)". It keeps doing this every time i try to restore it and i cant turn my phone on since its stuck in recovery mode. [link] [comments]  |
