Get Siri on your non-supported region

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 11:42 PM PST

    1. Have a US iTunes account.
    2. Sign in on your Apple TV, with your actual account and the US account.
    3. Go to Settings, General, and scroll down to Siri.
    4. Hold the TV button on your remote to bring up the profile selection screen.
    5. Select the US account. The Siri option should light up and not be greyed out. Switch it on.
    6. Hold TV button again and switch back to your original account. Siri option will grey out again, but will remain toggled on.
    7. You now have Siri functionality, albeit slightly limited. Still, limited Siri is better than no Siri.

swiping the remote to fast forward videos just became extremely slow... only moves forward 10 seconds per swipe... what am I doing wrong? or is there something wrong with my Apple TV 4K?

swiping the remote to fast forward videos just became extremely slow...

only moves forward 10 seconds per swipe... before today, if I swipe fast, it probably moves several minutes in one swipe. I've tried resetting the Apple TV but that didn't make any difference.

what am I doing wrong? or is there something wrong with my Apple TV 4K?

    Thanks for your help!

Idea: Turn on “Reduce Loud Sounds” at a specific time automatically

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:22 AM PST

Like Do Not Disturb, you could set specific times (8pm - ?). Also system sounds would be muted, too.

It's one for the lazy folk who don't want to turn it on and off every day. Especially with that rather clunky remote.

[HELP] Apple TV Roku App says "stop" when a show ends

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 09:58 PM PST

A few days ago the Apple TV app on my Roku started verbally saying "stop" either when a show ends or you press the back button to return to the main menu. I can't find a setting that would change this.

It's really annoying, anyone have this and know how to "stop" it?

Is there a way to skip a song if the screen saver is actively playing? Clicking or tapping the right side of my remote does not work.

AppleTV 4K randomly starts AirPlaying to another speaker

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 01:16 PM PST

Losing my mind! It seems like 75% of the time I turn start watching something for the first time that day, my ATV starts sending audio via AirPlay to my receiver, which switches to the Airplay input, away from the Apple TV video input. I never change the output to be anything other than over plain HDMI.

Any ideas why this would randomly start? Reboot hasn't helped, I've done the latest update and will see what that does.

Set it up last weekend, was working perfectly and changing movies to 24p when I clicked on them.

    Multi user and shared purchases

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 07:50 AM PST

Is it just me or I'm the only one finding it weird to use Movies and TV shows app to access shared purchases.

TV app is mature enough, shouldn't it just show shared purchases under well... Purchases?

What is the point of the apple TV subscription?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:51 PM PST

Hi all, Got a free 12 month subscription to crapple TV. What does the £4.99 monthly fee actually give me?

From what I can tell all it provides is:

Access to a selection of chargeable movies and TV shows.

    Carpool karaoke.

Have apple really put a paywall in front of multiple paywalls or is this something other than a shameless cash grab?

I have a smart tv, the app is downloaded and the "free trial" doesnt appear to be free...

I mean I thought amazon prime was shite...but this really takes the biscuit.

Anyone want to explain for me why this would be worth £4.99 per month?

EDIT I now am aware of apple PLUS TV. My point now is less belligerent, but still valid.
    Are the shows good enough??

Netflix is what im comparing it to, and some of the originals are excellent
