Moving my SSD out of "13 mid-2012 Macbook (question about where it fits elsewhere) Posted: 22 Feb 2020 10:30 PM PST Hi all. My "13 mid-2012 macbook is breaking down so I'm thinking about moving my SSD to another macbook I'd buy. Does anyone have a list of which macbooks it fits into? The SSD is: SAMSUNG 860 EVO (https://www.newegg.com/samsung-860-evo-series-250gb/p/N82E16820147676?reviews=all). Thank you! [link] [comments]

Wondering about viability of 2012 MBP Posted: 22 Feb 2020 04:52 PM PST Hi guys, I have a 2012 unibody non retina MacBook Pro that has burned out and which I've gotten repaired multiple times. Currently have it with an SSD and 16 Gb RAM. I really wanna get the new 16 inch MBP but it's a bit expensive for me. I have a 2017 MacBook I was talked into buying because I was concerned about long term longevity due to overheating if I got another MacBook Pro. They're both a bit weak for my purposes - possibly planning to run matlab and use R. I've since used the MacBook as my daily driver. It's great in it's own way, but it's constantly getting overwhelmed. Is the MacBook Pro 2012 still a powerful enough machine for these purposes? [link] [comments]
Keep My MBP 13 2019 or return it? Posted: 22 Feb 2020 08:17 PM PST Hey guys, first post so sorry if I break some norms lol. I am a Canadian student and I just bought a 2019 MBP 13 inch base model for 1300$ (without tax). It's brand new. I know that 2020 MBP 13 will be out in a few months but I don't know if I'll be able to get this good of a deal again. In that case, I'll probably be paying student pricing 1570$. Should I keep the MBP rn or return and wait? [link] [comments]
Help deciding between MacBook Pro vs Air for PA school Posted: 22 Feb 2020 11:50 AM PST My graduate school recommends this example below but they DO NOT recommend the Touch Bar model. The Pros only come with the touchbar feature, so I am debating on what I should get for graduate school. Also below is the MUST HAVE APPLICATIONS. What do you think I should go for. I am not going to be using it for coding, video editing, etc. only for educational purposes...and maybe Netflix 😏 Apple MacBook Pro Either older 2.7GHz processor, or newer 2.0GHz processor "space gray" models; TouchBar models are not recommended Minimum 13-inch display Minimum 8GB RAM Minimum 250GB SSD Hard Drive SOFTWARE Students MUST have the following software:
MS Word for word processing MS Excel for spreadsheets MS PowerPoint for presentations 2. Antivirus software**

MacBook Air 2019 vs MacBook Pro 2015 Posted: 22 Feb 2020 03:20 AM PST I will be using the laptop for University, I may occasionally do some very light gaming but it is unlikely. I would like a device that would last a few years. MacBook Air (2019): • i5 1.6 GHz (Turbo 3.6 GHz) • 8 GB RAM • 128 GB SSD MacBook Pro 13 inch (Early 2015): • i5 2.7 GHz dual-core • 8 GB RAM • 128 GB SSD Edit: Typo [link] [comments]
