Posted: 05 Feb 2020 06:37 PM PST I hope this hasn't been asked before, so if it has I apologise. I'm in the market for a new MacBook and I want to use it for civil drafting for the next several years. While yes I am aware I can get some Lenovo workstation with a mobile quadro, they never seem to last as long as Mac books. Also the office is across the road form a Genius Bar, so it's going to make any sort of issues MUCH easier should they arise. My issue however is what the point of wasted spending is. I was thinking the 2.4 i9, 32gb ram and the 5500 8gb setup for about $5k AUD. How would this setup compare to value against the slightly lesser model? Is there a point of pricey diminishing returns I hit with this device? You're all legends and I love you. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Feb 2020 05:42 AM PST I'm picking up my MacBook Air today! I had an air a few years ago but gave it to my husband and got an iPad Pro thinking I can replace my laptop and just use that for school and such. It was pretty good starting out but I've come to realize I miss having a laptop with more power to do things. I know that iPad is very capable of doing so many things now, especially with iPadOS but I just feel it's not for me. I tried it, but now want to go back ☺️ [link] [comments]
iMessage not sending/receiving from non-iPhones with new lappy Posted: 05 Feb 2020 07:59 PM PST Old laptop running just fine with iMessage. Brand new one, Android and SMSs from other sources are not received in iMessage and sending to Androids gets "Not delivered". Tried every trick, signing in and out on iPhone and Mac. Quitting iMessage, Force Quitting it, enabling send via SMS, nothing works.... Any ideas. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Feb 2020 03:55 PM PST So I just picked up my new MacBook Air today and was told I have like 60 or 90 days to add on AppleCare if I want to. Is it worth it for the Mac? I've had it for my iPad before and have it for my watch. Anyone have any insights? [link] [comments]
Should I get a 2017 MacBook 12? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 01:13 PM PST I'm going to college soon, and I need a new computer. I found a MacBook in almost mint condition for $500 and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. I really just want to be able to use logic pro and Photoshop. Would this be a solid choice? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 03:07 PM PST Should I really wait until Apple switches from the butterfly keyboard in the MacBook Air before buying one? Also, can I add more storage space (128gb to 1TB) myself after purchase? [link] [comments]
Planning to upgrade my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro Posted: 05 Feb 2020 06:28 AM PST Hello, Just like I wrote in the title, I'm planning to upgrade my non-retina mid 2012 MBP. I want to buy a SSD, but I'm not sure which is my best option. I've limited my options to these two: option 1 and option 2. However, I'm not sure which option is the best (or if there's a better option out there). Which one is better? Why is it that Samsung's SSD is almost $50 more expensive than Crucial's? Is it worth the money? Thanks in advance! :) [link] [comments]

Can I buy the macbook pro late 2013? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 12:00 AM PST Hi guys, I am lost in the world of macbooks. I wanted to buy the 2019 or 2015, but the 2015 is 1/2 of the 2019's price. Then I found out that the late 2013 has the same specs as the 2015, and it's 1/4 of the 2019 price. Now the question becomes, should I buy a 2019 model or an 6-7 year old 2013 model? I am so confused as to whether the old model will last me 6 years minimum. So from 2013-2026... Seems extreme, should I play it safe and buy the 2019? Best regards, [link] [comments] |
