Can't add any contacts to walkie talkie Posted: 05 Feb 2020 04:39 PM PST It's greyed out. It's the series 4 and iPhone 7 and everything is updated. I have FaceTime setup and working. Any ideas for this new guy to apple? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2020 07:50 PM PST My phone suddenly removed every one of my photos from my phone, I have absolutely no idea why, but they're all still on iCloud. Its about 11,400 photos and videos. Is there a way to like transfer them all back onto my device? I know I could reset my phone and revert to a back up but I'd rather not if there are other options to get just the photos back as that's the only thing missing. [link] [comments] |
iPhone SE: Cannot share location Posted: 05 Feb 2020 07:08 PM PST I have share my location enabled, and when I try to select a name it just opens the person as a contact and gives me option to edit. [link] [comments] |
How to change the default save file location for Pages and TextEdit? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 06:54 PM PST Whenever I use Pages or TextEdit and save my work, the default location that shows up to save the files is iCloud, I do not use iCloud so I do not need that option and it is annoying that for every new file I create I have to keep switching the save location what I want. I have looked in preferences for Pages but I have not found an option to change the default save location. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to display keyboard shortcuts in iOS like in iPadOS? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 06:38 PM PST I thought it might be nice to be able take meeting notes in tight places on just an iPhone and a Bluetooth keyboard. It would be nice if I could easily discover the keyboard shortcuts on iOS. I know that in iPadOS one can press and hold down the Is there a way to do a similar thing in iOS? [link] [comments] |

Podcasts - useless app. Post Catalina. Fix? Suggestion?? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 09:47 PM PST I save podcasts, There's a couple of reasons: I like to be able to reference past episodes, I cut samples and sound bites from them, I basically use them like I would use any audio media. Pre-Catalina, I would download the podcast MP3 files in the Podcast section and then change the Media Type to Music. Then I could organize them via custom tags, put them in playlists and sync them on to my device. I updated to Catalina assuming I could just change them all back to Podcast media type and then download the Podcast app on my phone and separate them. Unfortunately the new Podcast app does not treat Podcasts like a storable audio medium that I can tell. There's no way to add files manually, edit tags, organize, list view, or put them in playlists. They've basically lost all functionality. Assuming I don't want to use the browser to manually download mp3 files and then import those into Music as pseudo-songs, is there any native solution left? If not, are there any RSS MP3 downloaders you are using instead? I did not see a similar loss of functionality in Books, TV, or Music. Am I the only one saving podcasts? This app is so lacking in features it's embarrassing. [link] [comments] |

Are there 3rd-party remotes to control Keynote presentations on an iPad Pro? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 05:20 PM PST I know you can get one to control the mac. I know you can control the iPad's Keynote from an iPhone or Apple Watch. But can you use a dedicated remote (either 3rd-party, or Apple remote) to control a keynote presentation being played on an iPad Pro? (Note: I do have a dongle that includes a USB-A port and other ports, if that makes a difference.) [link] [comments] |
Having technical issues with Family Sharing Posted: 05 Feb 2020 08:24 PM PST I wouldn't really say technical issues per se, but I want to have my father on the Family Plan, which I have done so. The problem resides in his accidental purchases that I do not like. I am fine with sharing my subscriptions like Netflix and Apple Music, that is why I have the Family Plan, but is there a way to refrain from other family members making purchases? [link] [comments] |
Apple Maps never goes into Dark Mode in CarPlay Posted: 05 Feb 2020 04:35 PM PST I have tried setting CarPlay display to Dark Always and Automatic. Apple Maps never gets dark. It's way too bright at night. How can I fix it? [link] [comments] |
iPad Air 2 cant connect to apple server Posted: 05 Feb 2020 04:28 PM PST So my last iPad Air 2 absolutely fired on me and I have a spare. Haven't used this iPad Air 2 in over a year and I go to erase it completely and I can't connect to the server. I can't even put in the password for my icloud because it says it can't connect to the servers. Thanks for any input. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2020 04:04 PM PST Is there anyway to do a Command Select style selection on an iPad? For example, if I wanted to select several cells on Numbers or Excel document. On a Mac, I could hold down Command and select the cells that I want to edit. I can't figure out how I can do this on an iPad. Running iPad OS 13. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 Feb 2020 07:13 PM PST When I open safari it automatically opens a page, go.onelink.me that automatically opens the App Store to some sleep app. I can't get back to Safari and can only close both apps. Tried a coupe of restarts. Any advice? [link] [comments] |

How does your iPhone know that the USB connector is trusted? and a bunch of other questions Posted: 05 Feb 2020 02:29 PM PST They don't have a mac address because they aren't part of a network. What type of data does it send to verify it? Maybe some type of inbuilt address? If possible, how is this data most efficiently stolen by hackers and used? ----------- Is there an immediate way to enable USB Restricted mode other than SOS? without jailbreaking? What are ways allow a decent charging rate if data transfer is disabled? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Stolen iPhone pinged on Find My app but not iCloud.com? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 02:26 PM PST So my iPhone Pro was stolen in November and I reported it as lost and I would check Find My app almost daily to see if it ever turned up. As of yesterday it turned up and funny enough it showed it was at my home which is really weird. I checked Find My on my MacBook and it showed the same thing, but when I checked Find My on iCloud.com it showed no information, just shows offline. I'm unable to ping the phone because assumably it's out of battery after 3 months. Is this a glitch on my end? I'm not sure if it could randomly ping even if it's off (not sure how that U1 chip works). Any help is really appreciated. If it helps I currently have an iPhone Pro again. [link] [comments] |
Weblock the app blocking app not working. Posted: 05 Feb 2020 02:59 PM PST I bought weblock to block ads on Hulu and other apps. I did what the app told me but there are still ads, does the app not work or am I doing something wrong? [link] [comments] |
Looking for replacement battery for Macbook Pro 13 inch mid 2009 Posted: 05 Feb 2020 10:54 AM PST Hi! Looking for a good 3rd party replacement for this battery, must be available in the UK. [link] [comments] |
Shoddy Apple iPhone repair service - what to do? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 02:30 PM PST OK, so I just picked up my iPhone 11 Pro Max from Apple Store after a screen replacement. They literally closed 20 mins ago here, in London, and about 10 mins after I picked it up, so I can't go back and speak to them today anymore - which is quite frustrating to be fair. Unfortunately, while the screen has been replaced as part of my AppleCare+ Coverage, my iPhone is actually in a worse condition cosmetically than it was when I left it with Apple (barring the screen, of course). Once I walked out the store and made a few steps, I noticed a ton of scuffs and scratches at the bottom, near the speaker grill area - most likely from the technician trying to pry the phone open and lift the screen up to remove it. Incidentally enough, when I came to pick up the phone, my pickup got delayed - I've been told it's because "they had some problems with removing the screen" (which would make sense why the scratches are there actually - whoever was tasked with the screen replacement probably used too much force, and caused scuffs and scratches to the body of the phone). I'm really, really unhappy. I have an appointment tomorrow in the same store I managed to get on my way back home, but unfortunately it is not until 7:30PM - which means I'll have to wait the whole day to talk to them. I wanted to find out, however, if anyone has had any issues with Apple mishandling their equipment and what did they manage to achieve? Is there some sort of a complaints policy there? At this point I'm expecting a whole unit replacement to be fair. I mean, I think it's the least they could do in this case. Can't believe it, however, that stuff like this happens in an authorised, instore service - the main reason for me to go with their service rather than a random phone shop is peace of mind and belief in that they know what they're doing and how they should be doing it. For what its worth, I took some timestamped photos with my other old iPhone I had on me, about 20 mins since I've picked the phone up - and I plan to bring them to the store with me tomorrow as well, as corroborating evidence. Any kind of help/guidance as to how to go about the issue would be greatly appreciated, though. I'm on an iPhone Upgrade Programme, and there's no way in hell I'll be paying off a phone they mishandled and caused damage to it, cosmetic as it may be. :( Thanks guys! [link] [comments] |
