    MacBook dies halfway through bootup and tries again. Over and over

    I have an early 2015 MacBook Pro running Catalina that won't boot up. Or rather, it gets to the Apple logo with the loading bar and about halfway through the screen goes black. The laptop waits a few seconds and tries booting up again. This is a never ending loop. Some more information, this only happens when the MacBook is plugged into the wall, otherwise it doesn't do anything at all. It's totally dead without wall power. I've also tried to clear VRAM at startup, boot up into safe mode but I can't. It always dies during bootup. It even does this with the lid closed (I can tell because of the starting sound) My suspicions are that this is a problem with the battery, but that's on about 50% health at 600 cycles (yes I'm a nerd who checks this too often). Also, even after charging the battery for around 3 hours the problem persisted. I've not had problems with the laptop shutting down before today.

    Phone unusable but need to sign in with 2FA.

    Hello. I have an iPhone that was recently smashed to bits, so it's unusable. I need to sign in to my account to remove some of my subscriptions and some other stuff related to my account, but my account has 2FA which I can't do since I don't have my phone. Is there any way I can try to disable my 2FA so I can access my phone again? I don't have a second iPhone either.

    Airpods (2019) - how is battery life?

    I never used apple airpods or any other wireless mobile headphones, but now, since I use headphones in my job very often (5-7 hours/day) the cable is becoming very annoying.

    Also this is like 3rd time in 2 years one of headphones stopped working because of the constant twisting of cable and I am tired of it.

    However, I read that the battery in airpods is not that nice and it drains very fast after just year of intense usage (from 5 hours to about 1 until you have to recharge), which is something I wouldnt expect from apple product.

    Can somebody give me more info and tell me if buying airpods would be worth the money or if I should just buy another classic headphones for a few months?

    AirPods acting up? So me (iPhone 7) and my sister (iPhone 7+) got AirPods today and wanted to try out the feature where we can listen to the same song together if we pair both our AirPods to one phone, we did this but Spotify only allows us to change between AirPods and not listen simultaneously?

    New to apple computers- powermac g5 2/3 beeps

    I have this old mac I'm trying to get working.

    It beeped 3x on start up and looking it up pointed to ram related problem. So I took out all 8 1gb ram sticks. I put one stick back in and now it beeps twice. I have tried each stick in each port trying both 1 and 2 sticks at a time with no change .

    I've troubleshooted and built many pcs but never once a mac so I'm at a loss for what it may be. Any help would be appreciated. PMG5 2.3GHZ DC/512MB/250GB/16X DL SD/GF6600 (Info inside case, not sure if the right info)

    Also had 3 hdds in it but i removed two and havent reinstalled a new os yet. Havent gotten that far not sure if could be the issue. (Dont think so)

    Hey guys, so I’m having a trouble with activating iMessage. As you can see under the iMessage toggle button theres a “waiting for activation” message underneath and it keeps failing for some reason. It also wont let me select my phone # in the send & receive section. IPhone 6+ iOS 12.4.5

    MacBook pro display not going to sleep

    Hi all,

    I'm having an issue with my MacBook Pro 15 2011, I was trying to install Mojave using the patch but ended up not liking it because sims 3 is not compatible, I did the kext deletion when installing Mojave for the AMD DGPu, I reinstalled High Sierra and everything seemed fine until I noticed my machine is not going into sleep when closing the Lid, it goes into sleep just fine when using the menu but not when closing the lid, the display remains on... Also I noticed the turned on indicator is off when the machine is in use but it's working when turning it on only for a few seconds... I tried an SMC reset but no luck, same goes for NVRAM reset, any ideas on what could be the issue ?

    Is there a way to create some sort of secure folder on my macbook that my icloud doesn't sync, while still syncing everything else in my documents?

    I have some nsfw pictures and videos that I don't want syncing to my icloud, as it shows up on my search app with my iphone. Say for example if I search up "tw" for twitter or twitch, several of those files pop up under my icloud files.

    I still want to sync the rest of my files and while I can create a folder and just drag the files I want to sync while having documents sync off, there's maybe 5x more files (work, school, pdfs etc) than the files I want to hide. And it's tedious to remember to move a new file to that icloud every time I make a new word doc or something.

    Is there a way to make a partition similar to samsung secure folder on android, for macbook?

    Cannot Login with Apple ID on Mac Catalina

    Hi guys,

    I have just updated my MacBook Air to Catalina and I am unable to log in with my Apple ID to use iCloud, Photos, iTunes, etc. I am definitely using the correct username and password as they work on my iPhone, Apple TV and on iCloud.com (via Mac, ironically).

    It keeps saying 'Verification Failed' after I try to login via 'Sign in to your Apple ID' within System Preferences. Previously I have tried logging out of iCloud completely but now I can't log back in!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    No Admin Access on Used Macbook Air

    I recently purchased a used macbook air from a pawn shop. it seems that the device was previously owned by a school district, so most of the preferences are locked with the admin password. i'm also greeted with a prompt asking for the admin password when trying to boot in recovery mode. i've tried googling this to no avail, so any help is much appreciated.

    How would you get a dosdude1-OS onto a MacBook with a broken screen?

    I have a 2008 MacBook Pro with a broken screen. As it's certainly not worth fixing, I've been using it as a home webcam (using the iCam software).

    I've decided put 10.14 Mojave on it instead of the maximum OS I could get on it through "natural" means (10.11). But the bad screen is proving far more of a problem than I thought it would.

    • If I boot it using a dosdude1-built Mojave patcher drive, the external DVI monitor never gets activated.

    • I tried hitting the hotkey for enabling mirroring, Command-F1, but it did nothing. Yes, I also tried Command-fn-F1.

    • I booted a 2012 MacBook with Mojave patcher drive, and it worked with an external HDMI monitor just fine. Mirroring is already enabled. So it's not a lack of mirroring being set.

    So now I figure the dosdude1 OS just doesn't enable DVI video drivers. What to do? Aha, Target Disk Mode.

    • I attached the 2008 MacBook to a 2010 MacBook in Target mode (via Firewire800) and booted that 2010 unit from the Mojave patcher. I ran the installer onto the 2008 MacBook. The install completed without error.

    But now the 2008 MacBook won't boot up. It chimes, starts loading the kernel, and then just outright shuts down. Powers itself off. My best guess is that the dosdude1 patcher saw it was running on a 2010 MacBook and installed the patch for that hardware, not the 2008.

    I know if I took the HD out and put it in another 2008 MacBook with a working screen, I could get this installed, then transplant the HD back. However, I've no other 2008's to try that with.

    Out of ideas here. Does anyone have any other pasta we can throw at this wall to see if it sticks? Or did I just turn my webcam into a doorstop?

    EDIT: I tried booting the 2010 with the 2008 in Target mode and it booted right into Mojave. This shows the OS is there and functional.

    So I re-ran dosdude1's Post Install app, making sure to choose "MacBookPro4,1" and "Reset Caches". The "Reset Caches" process never completed (at least not within the 30 minutes I waited). Rebooting the 2008 on its own results in the same self-shutdown described above. I really thought this was gonna do it, but nope.

    Sync photos from iPad to MacBook?

    I want to be able to automatically sync new photos from my iPad to my MacBook Pro. (All on the latest macOS/iOS.) I'd also like not to have all my iCloud photos (which are thousands of photos from my iPhone) sync to my MacBook, which is what I think would happen if I were to use iCloud in the MacBook Photos album.

    What's the best way to do this?

    Powerbeats Pro lower in volume when I receive texts and then BLAST the volume after?

    Every time I get a text while using my Powerbeats pro and playing music, when I receive a text it lowers the volume significantly and then blasts the volume to beyond normally the max. How can I fix this or disable the feature? I have a hunch it has something to do with it trying to read texts out loud

    Bootable USB Drive Issue on 2012 Macbook Pro

    I am trying to do a clean install on a brand new250GB Sandisk SSD on a mid-2012 MBP. I had a previous SSD that suddenly gave out on me. I'm thinking it could possibly be the Drive connection cable, but the computer is recognizing the drive fine with no errors on repair.

    System came with OSX Lion. When I start-up in Internet Recovery Mode, I am given the option to install Lion, but quickly after the install begins I am getting an estimated completion time of "-2,000,000" or something and then am given the "Can't download the additional components needed to install OS X " error.

    So I am trying to use a bootable USB drive to see if I can make anything work. I've used TransMac to create a mac formatted USB and have used the "Restore with Disk Image" function to copy El Capitan downloaded from this link to the USB. Once that is done I plug it into the macbook and start while holding Option. Then my main issue comes in.

    No matter which combination of Option+R, Option+Command+R, etc I use, I am just given the option to choose a Wifi connection and taken to Internet Recovery Mode. Once there the USB shows up in the Disk Utility with "Install OS X" under it and I can even check it for a disk image and it shows "InstallMacOSX.pkg" as being on the drive. However it doesn't show up in the Startup Disk menu and I can't figure out any way to get it to work or to get it to just boot from the USB on startup.

    I've also tried OS Sierra as well with the same outcome.

    Any help is greatly appreciated. I can provide pictures to help better explain if needed.

    Bitdefender is asking me to grant it permission to access everything on my mac running Mojave 10.14.6. Do I need to allow it for it to its job properly? Also what are your thoughts on BitDefender as a paid antivirus software.

    PDFs locked on my iPhone iCloud account, not on computer

    I was trying to complete some work using a fillable PDF, I can click on the box but as soon as I start to type I get; "without owner password, you do not have permission to save this file" - I am the owner

    There has never been a password on these files. I opened them on my windows machine and I can edit the files.
