Finally had a chance to try out the iPhone 11 on some northern lights

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 07:32 AM PST

I was walking home yesterday and finally saw some heavy northern lights, which isn't all too common within the light polluted city.

I managed to snap a few pictures with my iPhone 11 (on default night mode settings, 3 seconds) and a pair of freezing hands. The lights move quite a bit and were faded after about 5-10 minutes, which is kind of common for these powerful ones.

I wanted to post them as I've had trouble finding pictures of them, taken on the iPhone 11 / Pro.

After seeing how it compares to my older devices, I'm contemplating getting a small tripod for when I'm drive up north here in Iceland, as you often times have really pretty northern lights along the way.

How is Safari's video rendering so good on Mac?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 08:27 AM PST

I was honestly wowed at how much better videos look on all streaming services on Safari compared to Chrome. I really wish that I could take pictures of the video to show you, but YouTube would not allow me to take screenshots of the picture. However, I was watching Parasite yesterday and noticed the quality on Safari was far better, and I had no idea why. Why do so many people try to use Chrome when the rendering for simple things such as videos stream far better quality?

Hey Apple: This endearing little keyboard bug has been with us since iOS 13 beta 1

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:40 AM PST

It's now iOS 13.3.1 with iOS 13.4 on the way. Apple knows about it, since I've made about 30 bug reports to date. Happens in Safari, Onenote, and probably other apps too that haven't noticed. Makes using the keyboard a trick...

Will this thing ever get fixed?

TIL: You can share Keychain Entries via AirDrop

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 06:23 PM PST

My son has a website where you can register for school conferences. I registered for them in the Fall but my wife's doing them this time. Unfortunately the password was saved in my iCloud Keychain. I was in Catalina and right-clicked on the password to copy and noticed the "Share with AirDrop". Shared the info with her and it imported it into her Keychain.

I checked the iPhone and you can do it there as well with a long press on one of the fields.
