    My Next iPad logical step?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 11:58 AM PST

So I have an iPad Air 2.... still works and happy with it... friend of mine is selling his iPad 6 for a good price but upon comparing the stats i thought that there was no big differences between the 2... the only diff i noticed was mine has a chipset A8 and his had an A9... everything else is perfectly the same.

So if i wanted a decent boost which one would be a decent change? (not going directly to the "BEST All New") but just a decent step above the iPad Air 2. Some games starts requiring the 3-4gb ram which ipad air 2 lacks... so im guessing this is the only thing i should be looking for? just dunno which models have those.

    thanks!

Interest in the latest version iPad

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 01:37 PM PST

I'm sure this question has been here before, but why do you love your iPad? Best Buy has a decent sale, and I'm on the fence about getting one. I'm considering one for cooking (recipe aid), journaling, reading, travel usage (watching movies, etc), organization, etc., and I'm curious if those who have iPads feel that it would be beneficial, and what other things you use it for. Thank you!!!

Don’t make my mistake. Don’t use a case with an open edge for the pencil.

Using a mouse on a iPad Pro 12.9 inch

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:15 PM PST

Hey guys, starting a new semester soon and deciding that I'm going to take my iPad to write notes on google docs and good notes etc, using the pencil and keyboard. Would you guys recommend me buying a mouse does it work will with iOS or is it still pretty bad? Just wanna use it for when I am writing in google docs, Microsoft word etc rather then constantly using my fingers to navigate.

Should I get iPad Air 3 on iPad Pro as a student?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:23 PM PST

I'll mostly use it for reading and writing down notes with the Apple Pencil. The main difference I can notice is the 120 hz, ive heard writing with an apple pencil on a 120hz screen is a way different experience.

Exporting Dropbox .mkv videos to VLC?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:21 PM PST

Up till last week I had the option to export or copy to VLC from within Dropbox on my iPad. This was quick and easy and dealt with the audio-video sync issues I got playing from within Dropbox.

With the latest update to iOS 13.3 though things have changed.

I now have the option to link Dropbox with VLC so I can see all video content via the network. But playback is really bad with stops every few minutes. Not even buffering, just stopping altogether.

And now the export function is really slow. It now takes 20 minutes to export a 1 hour video.

What better options exist to view Dropbox content smoothly on VLC iPad?

(This post had no replies on the VLC sub so I'm hoping someone here may have found a work around)

Ipad Pro 2018 or Ipad Air/7th gen

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 08:40 AM PST

So I recently bought an iPad Pro 2018 from Amazon renewed a month back but I didn't get the amazon warranty and now since it's been over 30 days I can't buy it. The condition of the iPad itself is pretty much new and I got a pretty good deal ($650 after taxes). I know that this iPad Pro is seemingly less durable and prone to bending than the other iPads so I'm considering returning it and getting an Air instead (Or the 7th gen as its only $370 for 128gb on best buy right now).

I originally planned on getting the Air but with such a discount on the Pro, I didn't mind paying the difference for the upgrade. My use for the iPad is mainly for school (note-taking, pdf editor, web browsing, etc) and it's a complimentary device to my laptop.

    Any thoughts/feedback is appreciated!

    New iPad User; Recommendations?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 09:01 AM PST

Hey guys, I just got an iPad for Christmas, and I've been planning to use it for my classes (I'm a junior at my college as a psychology student) and I was wondering what you guys recommend for me to download? Not only for classes, but on a general level too. I've got basic social medias downloaded and YouTube and such. But I was curious what you guys use on a daily basis?

Edit: I do also have an Apple Pencil to go with it. It's just the base model from 2019 that's compatible with the first gen pencil

    Screen quality and screen protectors?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2020 05:42 PM PST

I just bought an iPad Air, mostly for taking notes. I read that the laminated screen is very good for note taking and drawing since the display is so close to the surface of the glass. However, I'm now reading some reports from people who say their screens were scratched from using the pencil (presumably from dust). I'm thinking about getting a tempered glass screen protector, but my question is, wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of having a laminated screen in the first place? Does the extra thickness affect either the screen quality or the drawing experience?

Why do people think mouse support in iPadOS is bad?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:13 AM PST

It selects, it scrolls, it clicks, so what is missing? What kind of mouse support is still needed? I don't own an iPad, so that is why I'm asking this.

    Ipad Air 3 hub?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2020 06:10 PM PST

Hello, i have my ipad air 3. I bought a (usb-c hub) and usb-c to lightning adapter Since my ipad is lightning. . I tried to connect it but it didn't work. Although the usb-c to lightning adapter I have does support data syncing and charging. I couldn't find a lightning hub that has good reviews. Most of them people say when they connect them it gives them a message saying "the attached accessory uses too much power". So i was wondering if you have an ipad with lightning or iphone. How can you connect a usb flash ssd hard drive...?

External hard drive questions for a Noob to the apple world

    Posted: 06 Jan 2020 04:55 PM PST

I bought an iPad Pro this past summer and I'm wanting to buy an external hard drive to save content, mostly books I want to scan in so I no longer have to lug them around on my next move. So as far as hard drives is there a better brand and will it come with a chord to connect the two? Also is there a hard drive that is able to go between my iPad and my laptop which is an Hp? Thank you in advance
