Using an Apple Watch while i cant wear it

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 10:57 PM PST

I'm a nurse student and i recently got an Apple Watch series 5. The problem is for hygienic reason i cant wear it when I'm at the hospital. But i can have it in my pocket ( people doesn't really like it but they would be ok ). Then is there a way where i can still count my steps if it's in my pocket and not in my wrist ? Where I can still finish my rings without have it on my during my job ?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 12:50 AM PST

Hi, has anybody had their apple watch battery replaced by apple? i think my Series 3 42mm Apple Watch battery needs replacement, my question is if i go to apple, will they replace me with a new watch or replace the batteries only? And if they replace the battery only will my watch still be water resistant up to 50M? Thanks!

Does anyone else (with an S4 or older) practice the art of triggering the screen while reaching for an object as to not be rudely checking the time?

Does the silver stainless steel loop scratch the glass on the series 5 aluminum Apple Watch?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 10:04 PM PST

I'm asking about the front and back glass, but mainly the back because the loop is going to be touching that part a lot. I also want to know if it will scratch the aluminum casing.

    Should Audible sync play position?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 12:25 AM PST

I've finally managed to sync a book from my phone but on the watch it wants to start from the beginning rather than my current position, is it supposed to sync with where I am on other devices or is it a complete standalone experience?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 11:26 PM PST

    Hi everyone!

I'm truing tonfigure out if there's a way to schedule bluetooth to turn itself off in the evening?

It's not an obvious option so maybe an app does that?

    Watch and iPad working together?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 07:34 AM PST

So I really like my new Apple Watch. However sometimes this "all your devices working together" is not really working.

I mostly did my home-workouts on the iPad before, because it has a bigger screen for showing stuff. But now that I want all my data to flow to apple health together with my watch data this is really difficult, because iPad apparently cannot sync to Apple Health. So I have to use my tiny iPhone screen to watch the workout videos, if I don't want to enter the workout manually like a caveman.

The same goes for actually reading my data. My iPhone shows that data, but still: The screen is small and there is no way to export the data to Numbers, or to view it much more comfortably on my iPad.

There are more examples for this:
    - My watch can control Music on Macs and iPhone but not on the iPad

    - Why can't I use the iPad keyboard for input to Apple Watch?

    - It would be much more convenient to rearrange the Apple Watch App-View on the iPad

    - My Apple Watch screen time doesn't show up on my iPad

    - My watch doesn't display exclusive iPad notifications

    - My watch can unlock Macs but not my iPad or iPhone

    - Also I think it would be better if my watch would use the iPads Internet Connection, because that thing normally has far more battery than the iPhone.

How do you feel about this? Are these features Apple should prioritize? Did you have similar experiences with HomePod/Mac/EarPods

    How obsolete is obsolete?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 01:31 PM PST

My wife had a dead First Generation Apple Watch (Sport?) sitting in a drawer for quite some time. Apple Store wanted like $200 to fix it with no guarantees, yadda yadda. She got a new one instead.

Meanwhile, a battery and force touch sensor off Amazon plus a couple hours of swearing deft technical surgery later have given me a functioning watch. This thing is neat, and the mild skepticism I had of its usefulness has rapidly dwindled.

Looks like I'm pretty restricted though, as the OS is limited to 4.3.2, and most of the apps I've looked at adding require 6.xx.

Is this thing stuck in the purgatory of obsolescence? Any work arounds? It's useful in the meantime, regardless.

To Stainless Steel or not to Stainless Steel

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 06:12 AM PST

Would you pick up an Aluminium Series 5 over a Stainless Steel Series 4 if the S4 was just $60 more? Is the SS version significantly more durable? I'm thinking in terms of water damage too since I rather tragically lost my S4 to just a shower :(. S4 is LTE as well while the S5 isn't if that helps any, but I don't care about cellular one bit.

Is there a way to powder coat an Apple Watch?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 05:45 AM PST

I love the white ceramic one. Unfortunately I love in The Netherlands and they don't sell them here. They do sell them in surrounding country's but I don't want to pay for the 4G option because it's not supported here.

Does anyone know a company that can turn the gold aluminum AW to white?

How to delete part of a workout?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 07:09 PM PST

I f'ed up and forgot to end my yoga workout before going to bed last night. As badass as I look to my friends I share activity data with, I don't want the exercise record award and yoga award being skewed. Please advise how to fix this tragedy.

    Nike S4 44mm vs Nike S5 44mm

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 06:47 PM PST

    Hey all,

I know this is a dumb question but a local store has the S4 for 285 and the S5 for 385. Is it worth it to drop the extra 100?

    Sleep tracking on Series 0?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 06:14 PM PST

    Hey Series 0 club,

I was using my old S0 to track sleep using Sleep++ until a couple of months ago when the iPhone app auto-updated to v4 and the S0-compatible app dropped away forever. The developer has confirmed that the app will no longer support the S0.

Anyone have any competing sleep tracking apps working on the S0? It's a shame because this was a perfect use for this oldest of Apple Watch models!

Do Apple Watches have dead pixel problem?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 05:10 AM PST

I think it has. Let me explain myself about this problem.

I used Series 3. It changed 4 times with warranty, and every device had dead pixel issue. Because of our country's customer rights, Apple refunded the Watch and then I bought Series 5.

Last week, I saw that my device has the same issue. I went to Apple and they changed it again. I got the new device yesterday. I paired with my phone and didn't wear it. Today, when I wear it, I needed to check it because I had bad experience with it. BANG. I have it again. It's my 6th device in last 6 months with Series 3 devices.

If you have same issue, please comment about it. Thanks.

Watch doesn’t know who I am

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 07:14 PM PST

On my phone, Siri knows who I am and who my wife is. When I ask Siri "who am I" on my watch, she says she doesn't know and to update my information in Siri settings. Obviously my information is correct if my phone knows. How does one device know and not the other? How do I fix the watch to know who I am?

    Series 4 running watchOS 6.1.1.

    Hypoallergenic straps?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 04:14 PM PST

I have a mild nickel allergy which means that most 'cheap' metals make my skin quite itchy after extended contact.

The standard sports band is fine for me but I'd really love one of those cute metallic mesh ones.

I figure nickel jewelry allergies are common enough that hypoallergenic bands must exist! Anyone else who can relate and/or point me in the right direction? TIA.

(Ideally somewhere in Canada or that ships to Canada.)

    Apple Watch vs regular watch?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:08 PM PST

For those of you that wear an apple watch often, do you think the Apple watch can be as flashy and as eye catching as a regular wrist watch? Do you consider it a piece of jewelry, an expansion to your phone or both?

Belkin Valet Charge Dock for Apple Watch & iPhone - any good?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:56 PM PST

I got an Apple Watch for Xmas, and I'm looking for a charging stand. I normally steer away from Belkin, but Costco usually has good quality stuff. Anyone have any experience with this? Or is there a go-to stand that people recommend?

Do I need to keep my Fitbit?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 01:30 PM PST

I got a fitbit and then I just ended up grabbing an Apple watch after. I already got used to the fitbit and I like it to fitness but kinda weird to wear both.

I have time to return the fitbit but I already know how everything works. Does the Apple Watch do all the same stuff?
