But the big problem is that you need a cable login to get all that MSNBC has to offer. I've looked at Hulu but it looks like even that requires a fairly large subscription to include MSNBC. Is there a way to get just one channel? Or a package that is like $5/month? That works on Apple TV. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Amazon Video App - How to select a different episode / play from beginning? Posted: 07 Jan 2020 05:53 PM PST Is there a remote shortcut or other to change the selected episode or play a different one from the beginning? I'm in the middle of rewatching The Expanse again and having an issue with how the Amazon app handles episodes. The selected episode (the one with the big picture / full description when you select a series) often fails to update after watching episodes. I can watch episodes 5-8 back to back and the selected episode will still be 4. This is especially true when using "Continue Watching" from the TV app, but it also happens often from the Amazon Prime app too. The problem with this is the only way to initially restart an episode seems to be for it to be the selected episode. Otherwise you have to scroll to the desired episode, quickly pause it, and manually scroll to the beginning (I had to turn off Autoplay as with it on even this is almost impossible). Sometimes if I back out, this episode will now be the selected episode and I can hit the Play from Beginning button. But often it's still on some other one from 4 episodes ago. Am I missing something or is this app just that buggy? Or is no one else having this issue? [link] [comments]  | ||

Not yet available in my country but will available through a software update soon. Should I wait for the update in the TV or are there additional advantages in buying an Apple TV 4K device? | Apple TV 4K black bar raised blacks/flashing blocking Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:19 PM PST So i saw the other guys post about the DV issues when using the OLED tv with Apple TV 4K and I tried myself and can confirm that when in DV, the black bars are not pure black but gray and light and even change color with the image that's playing in the background (if that makes sense)...I think the way ATV4K displays the bars is tied to the content being displayed When in HDR, the black bars start flashing and look like blocks that constantly go grey and black... I submitted a bug report to Apple a while back hoping that helps [link] [comments]  | ||

I leave my Apple TV 4K on pause for 5 to 10 minutes and it automatically plays whatever I've paused. I've had an Apple TV (non 4K) in the exact same place and same setup just last week, but since I upgraded to 4k the problem has appeared. Keep the 'Store' in its own section or allow it to be turned off as with Apple Music. Mixing purchase recommendations in with my subscribed Channels / Connected Apps gets in the way of viewing. Alternatively, move or duplicate Channels / Connected Apps under the Library. 'Up Next' works great but the rest of the App fails at being the great streaming integration solution it could be. | Mirroring from Mac out of sync audio. 3rd gen. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 11:53 AM PST Hardwired AppleTV. Exceptional wireless performance for the Mac. When mirroring the screen on the Mac to the AppleTV and playing YouTube or Vimeo type videos there is sometimes stuttering in the video and the audio may be out of sync a little. Video stuttering I can understand, but the audio sync is not great. Is this just a limitation of the protocol? Limit of the 3rd gen ATV? [link] [comments]  |
