Did my charging port break or my charger

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 10:09 PM PST

I have a 2015 macbook pro and some unbranded charger that came with the macbook I bought on ebay (preowned ). I had it for three months and today, when I plugged in the charger, I heard a spark. It was loud enough for me to realize something went wrong. And now my macbook doesnt charge any more. Im not sure if the charger broke or the macbook port broke. I have no way to tell as I do not have an extra macbook or an extra charger. Everything still works fine on my macbook. I am using it to write this post now. Any advice is appreciated.

I have 2 people willing to trade these 2 laptops straight up for my iPad Pro. Just curious if anyone has a recommendation on which would be the better deal for me. I'm thinking the 2018 based on specs but not a Mac professional so looking for some help. Thanks!

How to reset external monitor refresh rate?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 06:08 PM PST

Long story short, I hooked my MBP late 16 into a new monitor and just for testing, i tried to set refresh rate to 85HZ and the monitor started flashing like crazy. The problem is with the flash I can't even reset it back to the normal 60HZ now. Any idea how I can have my MBP "forget" my setting for the monitor? I tried the reset PRAM trick and it didn't work Thanks!

I would sell my new Imac tomorrow for a 14" Macbook Pro with a good mechanical keyboard

I'm using just a basic $50 keyboard with my iMac right now, and it's such a pleasure. I'd gladly carry the extra weight of a mechanical keyboard as part of a 14" iMac.

    Macbook Issues

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 11:56 AM PST

Hey Everyone, new to Macbooks and Macs in general.

Good Impression so far. I've Updated to El Captain and started having an issue. I installed Google Chrome because I prefer it over Safari.

So anyway, Whenever I go fullscreen on Chrome by pressing the green button and try to access the menu bar to do something or to minimize or close, my system Crashes and restarts. Any help would be appreciated. Its a 2011 MacBook Pro 15" with a core i7 and 4GB RAM Running MacOS El Captain.

    Macbook Pro vs Air

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 03:04 AM PST

After years of using Windows computers, i decided to make a change and use an apple computer. I've been stuck, deciding whether i should buy macbook pro or air. I'm not a programmer/developer or coder. I want to upload some videos to youtube, so i'll be video editing once in a while. I'm thinking about opening a blog. I watched lots of videos on which macbook to buy. People recommend Air for users who aren't doin' productive things(such as video editing, photo editing, making music etc.), and Pro for productive users. I know I'm not gonna be a programmer or photo editor. Like i said before, i'll do video editing once in a while and i'm considering coding as well. Also, i watched comparison videos of pro and air. Pro has better sound quality, and it has a brighter screen + keyboard issues have been fixed on Macbook Pro 16'' as far as i know. Obviously i can't buy 16'' because its too expensive. Air is cheaper than Pros. So, which one should i buy ?

    Should i get a Macbook Pro 13 128gb?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 04:20 AM PST

I will be going into college in about a month and iam currently looking for a new laptop. Iam just wondering if 128gb will be enough for me if i will be doing some programming and web browsing. I already have a Windows desktop which i do most of my stuff on when i'am home. Should i invest more money on more storage?
