| Difference between iTunes Store and Apple TV app Posted: 27 Dec 2019 12:58 AM PST Asked this in the applehelp subreddit, but got no response, so I'm trying here: I was planning on buying the digital version of the extended edition of the LOTR trilogy. At first I looked at the TV app, as I thought all video content would be on there. However I only found the normal edition of the movies there. At the iTunes Store I could find the extended edition and it even was cheaper than on the TV app. So I don't quite know anymore what the difference is and where would be best to buy it. In the "apps not on this TV" it let's you download apps previously installed on her iPhone. I scrolled through and saw Tinder. The tv is HDR compatible and 4K The Apple box is set up and running with the following: 4K SDR 50hz HDMI output yCbcr Chroma 420 Match frame and hdr turned on. My TV is compatible and plays 4K hdr through my Xbox one S If I try to use chroma 444, Apple TV will not load or play anything. If I try to set Apple TV to 4K HDR 50hz it will not play or load anything. Am I missing something as this is driving me insane ! [link] [comments]  | ||

| HDR in Apple TV app on Fire Stick 4k is way too dark. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:01 PM PST I noticed this while watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, some scenes are so dark I can't make out any detail and even the brightest of scenes are dim looking. So I started comparing movies I had in both the Apple TV app and Movies Anywhere and Movies Anywhere was way brighter like it should be, like a 4k disc would be. Full daylight scenes in the Apple TV app don't look any brighter than SDR. Note that while testing all of the above HDR was properly engaging on my TV and turning the backlight all the way up like it should. It's worth noting that SDR content in the Apple TV app appears to be as bright as it should be and overall brighter than HDR. So does anyone have any ideas what's going on here? Is this a known problem with the Apple TV app? Is Apple putting SDR content in an HDR container? [link] [comments]  | ||

It's an old projector, it has 2 dvi ports on the back. I have a dvi to hdmi converter and I plugged it into the apple tv but it didn't detect the input. What am I doing wrong? Specifically I'm getting "REQUEST FAILED VALIDATION " on all menus in the app. I've tried killing the app and restarting the AppleTV. Will having two Apple TV's, both being the 4K version, turn each other on? I mean will the remotes control both. I had this issue when I bough two of the same Samsung TVs. I turn one off and in the other room the other turns on kinda thing. Also I use family sharing so can my wife watch my Apple Plus shows or whatever the heck it's called that I'm paying for? Not an Apple guy but not an Apple hater either. I have always been an android guy regarding phones and a big Plex enthusiast currently running 2 Roku's. I am kind of on the fence about keeping this or selling it for a Roku 4K. The device is impressive to say the least. But I have no music on itunes. Honestly it may take some effort just to recover my itunes account back from yesteryear. I guess I am hoping for some input one way or the other regarding similar users. Thanks in advance. When I selected a 4k video from YouTube using appletv. Stats for nerds shows its only HD. When I select the same video from smart tv stats for nerds shows 4k.
