removing default desktop pictures Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:38 AM PST Is it possible to delete these? I have to clear a ton of space and it'd be useful to get rid of them. They're in /System/Library/Desktop Pictures if it helps at all. [link] [comments]

How to switch windows like Windows? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 11:02 PM PST I love mac but the only thing I miss from win is the ABILITY TO SWITCH TO THE PREVIOUS WINDOWS I WAS WORKING ON with a keyboard shortcut (regardless of the app). In mac you need can only switch between windows of the same app and always either to the right or left direction. The gesture to show all windows at once is ok but still not what I want, [link] [comments]
Hard Symbolic Links High Sierra+ Posted: 26 Dec 2019 04:03 PM PST Can anyone confirm that hard symbolic links are supported from High Sierra and above? I heard its not, but am not sure [link] [comments]
Which macos to install (beginner). Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:06 PM PST Asking for a friend, since i am only good with Windows i'll ask here politely for help. He got late 2010 macbook air super cheap, but it doesn't contain any OS installed on it from what he said. So wondering which OS should i install for him, its pretty bad specwise but i guess thats normal for mac? He has 2gb ram 1.4gz i think, here he linked me this: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook-air/specs/macbook-air-core-2-duo-1.4-11-late-2010-specs.html?fbclid=IwAR0lIccGoP3r5_7hcL9pZhqKsWUphPrHaYiZVDLbDq6itqjQv831oxjSsEk We're looking for fastest OS, or do we have to actually test out which one works the best? Any help is greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas everyone! EDIT: Any information about how should we proceed the installation or what should we be looking for while installing is more than welcome. Any post installation requirements etc. Never used nor installed MACOS before. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:06 PM PST Hi guys, I tried to cram in the entire problem statement within the title but here it is in detail. I'm using Catalina + Logitech MX Master along with Logitech Options. I find that every so often (I'd say once in 20 - 30 minutes), my vertical scrolling stops working completely. At this time, left and right clicks are working, it's just the vertical scrolling that seems to get stuck. I have verified that this is not a hardware issue. Because all I have to do to fix this is - Go into and toggle the option for "Logi Options Daemon". The moment I do this, everything starts working perfectly fine. Until about 20-30 minutes later, when the daemon gets stuck again. I have tried reinstalling Logitech Options and also using a Unifying receiver instead of using bluetooth. I tried uninstalling Logitech Options at which point 50% of the buttons become non-functional, so that's a no go. Online, people are either suffering from a hardware issue (this isn't it), or for the ones who're facing a software issue, they seem to be happy that the toggle in Accessibility worked. I have not seen anyone post about this recurring behavior where after a little while the scrolling stops working again. Hoping to find some fellow MX Master users here and get your feedback on whether you've seen this issue or not. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Need to delete hidden "Deleted users/old user" folder, but operation not permitteed Posted: 26 Dec 2019 08:43 AM PST Hi, I am at my wit's end trying to free up 30GB of space by getting rid of an old user folder. Scenario: I used Migration Assistant to move data from an older Mac, but on the 1st try the process got interrupted and I basically had to reinstall Catalina on the newer Mac and do it over. Apparently somewhere along the way, the user account was sent to "deleted users" as a hidden(?) folder and a new one created in the usual Users folder, so I attempted to simply trash the old user folder. (The folder was visible at half opacity, so I assume it was hidden). The trash wouldn't allow deleting of everything in there, an 25GB remained, so I went to the command line and ran But I get "operation not permitted" for the old user/system/..... contents. How can I delete this old folder and reclaim the space? I did change the folder to have Read & Write privilege for admin, plus the current user, but no luck. [link] [comments]

which update would you reccomend? (from El Capitan) Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:06 AM PST I've been using a mb pro 15" late 2015 for 3 years now and I've never upgraded the Os becasue it worked ok for me. latley I've been considering update, tu upgrade software, security reason and beacause some software I want to use (Adobe XD) wouldn't work on my os version. I could've update to catalina but I haven't heard good things about it and also I think I'd like to have the possibility to still install 32bit apps. So I wanted to ask you if it's possible to update my system to a previous version than catalina and which version would you reccomend me. Thanks! [link] [comments]
