    There are very few things that I keep neat and organized, but my photo collection is one of those things - and it's dear to my heart.

    I've got pictures from before I was born, all with correct (or close to correct) exif data - mainly date and location. Unfortunately the app I used, Investigator, no longer works. After years of neglect, much of the UI is white-text-on-white-background.

    Do you have a recommendation? I'm happy to pay for a well written app. - especially with a photos.app plugin.

    HELP! Photos database rebuild

    Hi guys,

    I have just made a clean installation. So now I want to copy my photos to iPhone but if I make it with Photos.app on Mac, photos won't be erasable. Coz of it I copy the photos directly to DCIM folder in the phone but now photos won't be shown on the photo library. What should I do?

    App recommendation (iPad) for wirelessly projecting PowerPoints/PDF's

    Hey all -

    I'm a professor, and I recently got a new iPad with pencil. I'd really love to be able to wirelessly project PowerPoints or PDF's from my iPad to the projector connected to the classroom computer.

    Couple caveats:

    1. I'd like to be able to draw on the images in the PowerPoint/PDF and have the annotations show up too.
    2. I cannot install software on the classroom computer so any accompanying software would have to be able to run from a USB or use a website like the app AirSketch by Qrayon.

    Anyone have any experience with this? Have any recommendations? Any other good apps a professor should know about?

    I know that using Airplay would work, but that requires me to hook up an Apple TV to the desktop in the classroom. I know there are plenty of other apps (AirServer etc.) But many of hem require software which I cannot install on the classroom computers.

    So my kid cousin made a in app purchase from a game, and it was paid with paypal. Others say that I should find the email from apple and initiate it from there, but I haven't gotten any email, just my paypal receipt. Any solution to this problem?

    PNG not appearing IOS 13

    iOS 13.3, iPhone 11 Pro, in the last week some of the apps not working properly. Facebook is not loading anymore, just open white screen and crashes. Sometimes Reddit app too. Any suggestions, help please? Thank you

    Today I noticed when you’re typing with left hand using one handed keyboard feature, the send button is still very hard to reach. I was having tough time texting with left hand cuz of it. Its not a big deal but it would be nice if apple could shift send button to a bit left too along with keyboard

    Put my phone down and went about my business for about 30 min. By the time I came back, I noticed my iPhone X was booting up. I thought nothing of it as I had assumed it was automatically updating. 5 min later, it was still on the same plain Apple logo with no progress bar and making no apparent progress to be usable again. I tried restarting it and at that point realized my iPhone was stuck in a boot loop. Why? I don't know. It wasn't doing anything intense when I originally left it. Didn't get any funky iMessages or emails. And the best part, this is the third iPhone I've come across that has randomly got stuck in a boot loop requiring a fresh iOS install in order to return it to working order. Yes, the other two were also running iOS 13.3. What's going on?

    Anyone notice a flicker when deleting an open email after upgrading to iOS 13.3? I grabbed a screen recording and it seems the animation is repeated causing a flicker effect.

    Considering coming back to iOS as a long time Android user.

    iPad Pro's 120hz screen, cpu power, full photoshop/lightroom & iPadOS ability to use external storage is very appealing.

    My last iOS device was an iPhone4 (2010), but I still use a Macbook 12" which the iPad might replace. As a long time Android user there are a few things holding me back or reluctant before taking the jump.

     

    Ad blocking

    On Android I would have Adaway(root) which does host base blocking system wide. Alternatively, in Firefox or Kiwi(chrome) I could have uBlock extension enabled. Which is also what I use on MacOS. Not a Safari fan.

    So the only way on iOS to have system wide ad block is a VPN which filters?

     

    VPN

    To secure connection & privacy my choice of VPN is currently wireguard(kernel) & openvpn. How does using this affect the workaround of VPN-based adblocking ios apps? Can they be both run at the same time or can only have one or the other?

     

    Multi-user

    I like having multiple user profiles. One for work, personal and guest. Does iOS have the ability to quickly switch between users? Last I recall it only just one user.

    Headphones make a clicking/popping noise right before I play something and shortly after I pause it, anyone know what this is?

    I just got beats pros and I noticed when I plug them into my iPhone XR I hear a clicking/popping noise right before I play something and again shortly after I stop playing whatever it may be.

    Anyone know what this is and why it happens? I tried it with AirPods as we and I hear a similar yet slightly different noise.

    Dark Grey Vs Fully Dark Mode

    Hi,

    Apple launched Dark mode months ago along with the IOS 13 release. I have been using dark mode when I'm in my bed and even with the lights one is noticed like some screen flashing when scrolling, and I found out that is because of the high contrast difference between the fully dark background and the white text letters so I replicated this using an app that have a dark grey background like the Apollo app and is much better and comfortable for the eyes. So I found out some good articles on the Internet, specially this one (https://uxmovement.com/content/why-you-should-never-use-pure-black-for-text-or-backgrounds/) about this and I would like to start a discussion:

    Should Apple implement a new Dark Grey Mode or continue with Dark Mode as it is right now?
