"How did Google get Pixel 4 face unlock this wrong? Whenever I read about these epic fails by other phone manufacturers (like this or the Samsung exploding Note or it's failed fist folding phone), I think that if this was an iPhone or any other Apple product, how many haters would come out.

The next iOS update should allow you to update the os with your cellular data and just wifi.

    Is "scratchgate" nonsense?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 07:21 PM PDT

Is scratchgate nonsense - or is it possible there is a legitimate manufacturing defect?

Obviously no phone can be impervious to scratches. But there are many reports of people finding the iPhone 11 surprisingly scratch prone. Sure people have always complained about their phone getting "mysteriously scratched", but the number of reports for the iPhone 11 seems higher. This thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250669687 (on which "scratchgate" articles were based) is up to 76 pages! Were there similar numbers of reports for older phones? Are people just hearing about "scratchgate" and being more likely to post online about it as a result?

Nano-texture glass from the pro display on iPhones?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:31 AM PDT

Do you think it's possible, and if so, will apple give future iPhones a nano-texture glass like on the pro displays? Do you think it would be a good selling point? (I mean it would reduce glare and could maybe be more scratch resistant as it's textured) Will the screen feel weird when using?

Does upgrading to a newer iPhone improve data speeds significantly?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 09:46 PM PDT

I switched my carrier from T-Mobile to AT&T because of a new plan and the savings. Where I would have 3-4 bars on T-Mobile I would only get 1-2 on AT&T. LTE speeds downgraded from 70 Mbps (T-Mobile) to 12 Mbps (AT&T). I have an iPhone 7 Plus bought from day one and that was only 3 years ago. I was told that in order to take improve signal and increase data speeds I would have to get a newer iPhone to take advantage of the new cell tower technologies? Or perhaps I live closer to a T-Mobile tower than an AT&T tower. Does upgrading your iPhone to a newer model improve data speed substantially?

For email, move the "Move to Junk" option out of the Mark menu to the Move menu, where it belongs. I selected all of my email, and accidentally hit Move to Junk. Took me two days to figure it out. All of my email was gone, and I wasn't getting any new emails. I was to the point I thought I'd gotten hacked and changing all of my passwords.

Should I use a case on my iPhone XR?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 06:53 PM PDT

Currently I'm using a case but I always hate missing out on the premium luxury of holding a phone naked. The glass is satisfying to feel but if I drop it, I might crack it. Should I use a case or not?
