    Want to get myself a new tablet. I'm a big tech geek, but always had android products.

    Something about an ipad is drawing me in.

    I don't really need one, it's more of just wanting something new, and maybe trying out apple for a change.

    Is this gonna drive me nuts. Or will I get use to it?

    I'm in the UK, but my friend will be in tbr US on black Friday, so want to ask him to bring me one home. Where in the states is a good place to buy one (a shop not online)

    I understand that I can keep my files offline by just making a copy of the file or folder to "on my iPad" but is there a way to keep all my files on my iPad and continuous synced to iCloud? The way I'm using the Files app kinda sucks right now because sometimes it'll just decide to delete the local copy and I have to download a file every time I want to see it.

    iPad Mini 5

    Is the 7.9 inch screen of an iPad mini 5 big enough for music notation apps ? I find the 10.2 inch iPad to be rather big to carry around , at least it looks like that, not that I've ever carried one around myself. I've taken an interest in the iPad Mini 5 because it has very good reviews on YouTube. And also the base model's storage is 64 gb whereas the base iPad 7's storage is only 32 gb. I can't manage to convince myself that 32 gb is enough. I have an iPhone 7 with 32 gb of storage capacity, but that's only a phone. I was looking for a thread about iPad Mini's but I can't find it. I can't seem to find anything here on Reddit. I'm a new user and I only stumble on things by accident. It's my fault I know.

    Is 16GB not enough for proper working in 2019?

    I need to buy an ipad for my parents: casual browsing, email, youtube mostly.

    I found some good Air 2 deals on ebay, but they are 16GB in ROM. Would you suggest buying it for this kind of usage?

    Silencing unknown callers missing

    With iOS 13 came one of the best ways to fight those annoying spam calls — the all in approach of having an option to block all unknown numbers. I love it, it's definitely a QOL improvement. Anyone else bothered by the fact that iPadOS doesn't have this feature nor does it respect my iPhones setting, allowing these unknown numbers to come through to my iPad?

    This was working for me on iMessage and Discord — but no longer. I added the Japanese language to my keyboard and I think that is when it stopped working.

    Anyway to fix this?

    First-time iPad buyer - need advice

    I have never owned an iPad but plan on getting one for Christmas. I will primarily use this for note taking in my Masters classes, light drawing (I'm not an artist and never have been), media consumption, and as a Sidecar monitor for my MacBook.

    My budget is quite small ($450 total) since this will be the only thing I receive and I have two options:

    iPad (7th gen)

    I am looking at the 2019 iPad at 32Gb. Since these are on sale right now for $250, I can also get an Apple Pencil and case for well within my price range. The downsides are the lack of laminated display, less storage, and a 3 year old processor, but I'm not sure if those matter too much for my needs.

    iPad Air (3rd gen) Refurbished

    I recently found a refurbished iPad Air on Amazon for around $400 which is a pretty good price, but I will have to cough up the extra money on accessories and I really don't want to do that. Obviously this is the higher-end tablet and is more capable in most aspects with a better screen and faster processor.

    Would it be worth it to get the Air for what I would use it for? Or would I be better to not know what I'm missing?

    Activation locked iPad

    iPad Air 2 and Metal, Core ML 2, and Core Image

    I've just seen that Pixelmator Pro is free on App Store. Yet, I cannot download it since Pixelmator Pro is not supporting my iPad Air 2. 😓 Why is that so? I checked their website and they say something like "And it uses iOS technologies like Metal, Core ML 2, and Core Image". Which of these is not supported by iPad Air 2?

    How do I keep the app bar at the bottom of my iPad?

    I recently just upgraded from my old IPad 3rd gen to the new iPad Pro (12.9 inch if that matters) and whilst rearranging some apps around, the bar at the bottom of the screen that holds about 4-7 apps has disappeared. I can get it back up for a few seconds at a time by swiping up from the bottom but it doesn't stay. Can anyone help, I want it there to stay.

    Recommendation for workflow of notetaking on blog posts?

    Hi! I'm currently interested in getting an iPad, mainly in order to be take notes with the Apple Pencil directly on the article itself. I'm thinking I would convert to reader view (for sites that allow it), then capture a "scrolling screenshot" of the entire page, then read it on my ipad in the notes app, underlining and writing in the margins along the way. What do you think? What is your routine for note taking on newsletter/blog posts with iPad? Also for PDF's as I will be doing that too. Thanks!

    Buying an used apple pencil, have some concerns

    Hi all.

    Ive found a relatively new apple pencil that has apple store receipt and has guarantee until Jul 2021. I want to go check it out. Seller says it's used max 4 5 hours. Idk this is true but those are his words.

    What should I check on the pen before buying? It's and apple pencil 1 and I have an iPad pro 10.5

    External hard drive (Passport)

    I have a 1TB Passport hard drive. I bought the adaptor to connect it to my iPad 5th gen. The adaptor works with smaller flash drives but not with my hard drive. After a bit of research I realized it was the wrong format. So I reformatted the drive to ExFAT. It still won't work. I plug it in and nothing ever happens. I read through here and several other sites but I can't seem to troubleshoot the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    iPad Air 2 and apple pencil

    just been given an iPad air 2 and I noticed that in the app store it lists Pencil apps but when I look for information on Pencil its states iPad Air Version 3 my iPad air is running the latest version of the operating system 13.2.3 .

    My questions are

    1 did some version id iPad IOS add pencil?

    2 if its still the case that The Pencil is not compatible with my iPad why does apple flaunt the apps is my app store (see screenshot)

    iPad screen on-time

    A month or so ago I bought a second gen used iPad pro 12.9 in off of eBay for $320. I was worried about the battery. Last night I accidentally left the screen on while my podcasts were lulling me to sleep.

    I had a playlist, so the screen stayed on all night till I woke up in the morning. I realized my battery had gone from 100% to 1%. Then I looked at my battery information and settings and this is what I saw:

    iPad pro's insane screen on-time

    I always have my brightness at 50%, But still was surprised as hell to see a 12-hour screen on time! I know this thing has a 10,000 mAh battery but damn

    Color me impressed
