    I've purchased an apple TV 4k for apple arcade and other 4k features.

    Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone or mac to setup my game centre login, I can still play the arcade games but it's asking me to login each time.

    I can click cancel it just gets a bit annoying.

    Is there anyway around this, can I set it up on any other device or do I need to find someone with an iPhone, ipad or mac.

    Apple TV+ with Dolby Visions messes up the colors.

    Hello everybody! Like most of you I was excited to gain access to Apple TV+ yesterday, but I ran into a problem I can't seem to solve so I am looking to see if any of you have the same issue.

    My setup: - Apple TV 4K - tvOS 13.2 - Phillips TV, model 43PUS6504. Supports Dolby Vision. - Hama high-speed HDMI cable.

    My issue: - When viewing Apple TV+ content with Dolby Vision, the colors get smudged out almost like you applied a heavy "Beauty" filter.

    My troubleshooting: - Making sure every component supports 4K and Dolby Vision by running the HDMI cable test. The Apple TV recognizes that the components support 4K and Dolby Vision.

    • Plugging the HDMI cable in different HDMI slots on my TV. = The issue occurs on all HDMI ports (4 in total.)

    • Restarting Apple TV from Settings, System, Restart.

    • Trying to play Dolby Vision 4K content from iTunes on the Apple TV. = Playing John Wick 3 from iTunes Movies does not have the issue, and it plays in 4K with Dolby Vision. Also tested with Dolby Vision content on Netflix which also works normally, and played several trailers in 4K Dolby Vision from the iTunes Movies store.

    • Changing from 60hz to 50hz from Settings, Audio and Video. = issue remains in both 50hz and 60hz, but again only on the Apple TV+ content, no others.

    • Changing resolution from 4K Dolby Vision to 1080p Dolby Vision. = Issue occurs on this resolution as well.

    • Changing resolution to 4K HDR. = The content plays normally here, no issues at all.

    I don't have other Dolby Vision HDMI cables or other Dolby Vision enabled TV's so I haven't been able to test the issue with other hardware. I feel I have found the problem to be with Dolby Vision as the issue goes away when setting the resolution to HDR. But it's so weird to me that it only happens with the content in Apple TV+ and no other places!

    Have you had the same issue? Send help! Thanks in advance.

    How to passcode protect AppleTV+ shows?

    I'm testing out AppleTV+ on tvOS 13.2 and am stumped on how to restrict access to shows which are not suitable for kids.

    I'm used to the Netflix model which requires passcode entry whenever I want to playback a show which is more than 13+. This is also similar to the permissions model adopted by the old iTunes movie app.

    However for the TV app I can only configure Restrictions in Settings->General to filter all movies or shows based on a global setting. Once that is enabled shows that do not match the criteria do not even show up in the TV app.

    This means that I have to navigate several layers of settings to disable content restrictions and reenable them when I'm done.

    Is there no way to list the shows in the TV app but disallow playback until a passcode is entered?

    Dolby Vision, but not HDR10 with AirPlay 2. Bug or an oversight?

    So I got myself new TV - LG OLED55C9. It's a top end (other than 8k model) LG OLED TV that supports AirPlay 2.

    I tried it and it works great with movies encoded in Dolby Vision, but movies that only have HDR10 display as SDR with AirPlay 2.

    Is it a bug or just an oversight? Did anyone else try playing HDR10 movies from TV app on their phone/tablet via AirPlay 2?

    I don't want to spend money on Apple TV 4K, since I have all the needed features and apps across my TV itself and Xbox One X. It seems very strange that AirPlay 2 pushes 4K Dolby Vision (a superior format) just fine, but can't to push HDR10.

    Picked it up today on the AT&T special. Set it up and after 15 minutes the picture goes black. The Sleep setting was set to 15 minutes. I changed it to Never and it's still happening. Any ideas? Picture is set to 4K Dolby Vision

    Was watching the Snoopy show on Apple TV+, wanted to screen capture and share with friends but the screenshots all turned dark (subtitles were captured though). Anyone else has experienced this?

    Video settings

    Everything I've seen and read says to set the Apple tv to 4K SDR and then turn on match frame rate and dynamic range. If you set the Apple tv to 4K HDR or 4K Dolby Vision and match frame/range will it down scale to 4K SDR or 1080p? Like if I'm watching the office on Netflix will it switch to 1080p?

    Browser version of Apple TV+ is terrible

    I had so many issues with setting up my Apple TV+ in browser...

    1st issue: Logged in with my Apple ID, choosed show that I wanted to watch. A popup came up that I need to input my payment info. Okay, I put in my debit card info. ERROR. IN CHINESE. (pic1) had to use Google Translator to translate it. It said that they can't verify debit cards...After many tries I figured that I will try to set my payment info in Apple ID settings instead of Apple TV+ settings. IT WORKED. great

    After setting payment I thought that I will finally be able to enjoy shows. NO. Started the first episode of Dickinson and only could hear sound in the background with video stuck in black screen....So I tried Firefox browser. Same thing..Then I tried to rewind to 1 min. OH WOW IT WORKED.

    So I continued watching. Watched the first episode with no problem. The first episode ended so I wanted to see the next. No button "next episode" came up so I had to exit current episode and choose from slider menu episode 2. Watched ep. 2 right until it just crashed to a black screen in the middle of the episode....okay so I went back to the previous page and selected ep. 2 again and rewinded to the place where it crashed. Watched 2 more episodes with random crashing in the middle of episodes until I finished ep. 4.

    Now I can't choose next episode because the slider menu (pic2) doesn't work?? There are supposed to be all episodes out but I can't choose ep.5...

    Apple get your shit together...

    Crushed black levels on The Morning Show?

    The opening scenes look absolutely terrible on my TV.
    Rest of the show looks great so far, but the dark scenes have a ton of artifacts.
    Anyone else notice that? I'm running in Dolby Vision.

    I keep having to restart the show every time I leave the app...

    I'm watching See and if I pause the show to exit the app and go back into it, it'll just restart the whole show from the beginning. I find that extremely annoying and I don't know if that's a bug or if it's just like that. Is anyone else having that issue?
