help deciding between getting a mbp 15 2019 on sale or waiting for refresh next year? Posted: 07 Nov 2019 06:47 PM PST probably asked a million times, but here we go: Currently have a 2012 Macbook Air, and want to get a MBP 15 for full stack development. Stuck between buying the $300 off deal on Amazon (15 inch/16gb/512gb SSD), or waiting until the refresh next year (mid year?). I'm not really too sure on what to expect for the refresh in terms of improvements other than the keyboard though. I'm not in a huge rush to buy, but I figured the Amazon deal was pretty good since good apple sales are supposed to be rare. [link] [comments]

Safari ram usage keeps increasing Posted: 07 Nov 2019 04:53 PM PST The ram used by safari keeps increasing after I go through a couple of pages. Almost like safari is caching everything. Right now it's at 5 GB/8 whereas on chrome it would be around 4GB with the same pages open. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Nov 2019 01:30 PM PST So I'm thinking of buying a early 2015 MacBook Air is it worth my money in 2019 and how does the latest macOS run on this model? [link] [comments]

What is slowing down my Macbook? Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:26 AM PST Images of "Activity Monitor" CPU and Memory here. https://imgur.com/a/qxUAz88 All the processes / programs I run are pretty simple but something is slowing my "the new" Macbook down (2015 version). Is it the RAM or the CPU? It seems like RAM? Which confuses me because the now-discontinued Macbook is supposed to have 8GB, which I thought was a lot. I'm considering upgrade to a new laptop and would like to know which component I need to upgrade / get a more powerful version of :) Thanks for your help1 [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:54 AM PST Need help on which to buy... Currently the 2017 air is $799 at bestbuy and the 2019 is $899 at best buy. I have a 2019 pro that I think I'm gonna return because those two devices are cheaper and should be good for what I need. Just need something to use Microsoft word, OneNote and write essays .. is the 2017 air good enough for the task or should I take a risk and buy the 2019 air and pray the keyboard doesn't fail on me and lose it while it gets repaired [link] [comments]
Experiencing random, horrible slowdowns on IGPU Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:47 AM PST I have a 15' MBPr with Dedicated and Internal GPU. Of course they switch when needed and I have a piece of software that tells me when it does. I use Safari and other smaller, basic programs for work. The computer DOES not overheat. Randomly, framrate on my desktop / mouse will drop to 5-10 fps, making the whole operating system completely unusable until I reboot, or manually switch to the Dedicated GPU, which of course kills battery, and the lag still is there, however not as bad. I am on Mojave 10.14.6 and has been happening for at least the past 2 Operating System updates. Fresh install did nothing. Help? [link] [comments]

MacBook Pro 13" 2019 - Configuration advice Posted: 07 Nov 2019 01:53 AM PST Hey there, I am looking to buy my first ever MBP as for my decision for a career path in UI/UX Design. While I'm working on a Desktop PC with heavy specs there's no problem with anything regarding the software i use to work/study. I'm defiantly going for the 13" 2019 model, i just don't know which is the best value for me and my workflow. As i'm looking for at least 4-5 years period with this MBP. considering the ram usage, speaker quality, thermals and usb connectivity. My workflow - mainly web browsing with 5-10 tabs frequently, spotify/youtube playing in the background. Programs used - Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Adobe Lightroom, Sketch and Figma. Would like to have the option to edit on Final Cut X with 1080p/4k footage from iPhone - not something special. Options are : 1) Base clock 1.4" Ghz with 128GB and 8GB of Ram. (1299$) 2) Base clock 1.4" Ghz with 256GB and 8GB of Ram. (1499$) 3) Base clock 1.4" Ghz with 128GB and 16GB of Ram. (1499$) 4) Base clock 2.4" Ghz with 256GB and 8GB of Ram (1799$) 5) Base clock 2.4" Ghz with 256GB and 16GB of Ram (1999$) Thank you for your time reading and i would highly appreciate your comment. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:59 AM PST So I have a 2019 base model MacBook Pro, I've heard the new ones have bad keyboard reliability. Costco will be selling the 2017 MacBook air with Intel core i7 and 8gb ram on Thanksgiving day for only $699.. Should I return my pro and get the air and save a ton of money or is the pro gonna be just as reliable as the 2017 air has been for people [link] [comments] |
