Appreciating some small improvements with Siri: Announce Messages and Reminders Posted: 06 Nov 2019 12:54 PM PST I really have not been a big fan of Siri in the past but always willing to give credit where credit is due. With Announce Messages, I really appreciate that Siri is smart enough to understand lots of random little abbreviations, like she'll say "homework" when she reads a text with "hw" in it, but she's smart enough to read "lol" as el-oh-el. And if multiple messages come in while she's reading one, she'll either say "also from X" or if it's even faster than that, she'll just keep reading the conversation. Surprisingly useful. I haven't replied to anything like that yet but I like the option. And with Reminders, this is a really small one but saves a lot of headache. After midnight the other day I said "hey Siri remind me to ____ tomorrow at 2 p.m." Literally as I'm saying it I realize I fucked up by saying "tomorrow" after midnight but she comes back and says "did you mean tomorrow, November 5th or tomorrow, November 6th?" That's a really really easy mistake to make when speaking to a digital assistant so I appreciate that they've improved things there. Anyway, yeah, not a huge revelatory thing, but some nice improvements I thought I'd point out. Hopefully the team working on Siri sees that people do appreciate this stuff. Anybody else notice little improvements like that? [link] [comments] | ||
