Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:48 AM PDT So we're watching the climatic battle in Avengers: Endgame and suddenly in the top corner pops up a message: "Remote has lost connection". My wife sighs loudly and keeps watching but it definitely takes us out of the movie. Next day we watched 2001, and it happens again in the star gate sequence, but now my wife just looks at me. Married men. It was that look...the "you made me watch this movie, and now there's this?"-look. Laugh all you want, but we'll all be there one day. Is there any way to turn this off?? | Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:03 AM PDT Hi, I bought LG 55sj850v last year. Half a year later I bought Synology D118, installed Plex and was happy. This year I decided to give a chance Apple TV 4K, because of AirPlay, better UI, games. So I've got some experience...
So, that's all what I use on my TV. The only one thing I'm missing is AirPlay for sharing content from my iPhone, Mac, iPad. I can't say that Apple TV costs that one feature. The question is how do you manage such differences and what benefits for you in using Apple TV instead of smart TV (webOs in my case)? [link] [comments]  |

For some reason I have no option for 4K resolution in my video settings. I'm plugged into the right input on both the receiver and TV. I've tried different cables for both runs. I've tried going straight from the Apple TV to the TV. I only get 1080p. What do I do? [link] [comments]  |

| What’s the purpose of the menu dimming Posted: 11 Oct 2019 04:58 PM PDT On the Apple TV 4K, if you're in the main menu and wait about a minute without touching the remote, it changes appearance slightly. It starts to highlight the currently selected button and find the rest of the menu. Does anyone know why it does that? What's the point? | Digital noise artifacts on bottom black bar in Netflix Dolby Vision content - help! Posted: 11 Oct 2019 06:09 PM PDT https://streamable.com/2qaqs Since at least July, I've been having this weird problem with my Apple TV 4K on my Sony X900F. Whenever I play Dolby Vision Netflix content in an aspect ratio that has black bars, there are "digital noise artifacts" flashing on the bottom bar. Not sure how else to describe it, and it's really hard to film with my phone because it's basically gray blocks flickering in random places on the black bar, though you can kind of see a change in the blackness level in the streamable video I linked here. I haven't been able to find anything about this online and it drives me nuts. Any ideas? TVOS 13 didn't fix it. I can also confirm this doesn't occur in regular 4K, non-DV videos on Netflix, nor does it happen in DV content through iTunes. [link] [comments]  |
| CTV app not working (Canadian users) Posted: 11 Oct 2019 04:19 PM PDT Hi all. I bought my Apple TV a few months ago and all has been fine until recently. I have the CTV app and I can open the app but when clicking on a show, nothing happens. This is only an issue with the CTV app. Any thoughts? The other strange thing is that the remote will no longer turn on the device. I can turn it on via my iPad and then the remote works fine. But it won't turn the device on. (re: cutting the cord) Posted: 11 Oct 2019 12:39 PM PDT I really like the idea of the new Apple TV app which combines many streaming providers/content into a single app, but is it possible to also show OTA channels (i.e. my HDHomeRun OTA tuner, etc)? I haven't cut the cord yet, but I'm looking to see if I can use the TV app with some streaming providers (Amazon Prime, Disney+ [next month], Hulu [maybe], etc). (Philo TV also looks great for $20/mo but doesn't integrate into the TV app and won't be in the near future it sounds like) [link] [comments]  |

I went into the settings and extended the time to an hour for sleep. Is there anyway to fix this so I can listen to music for longer periods of time without the device going to sleep?
