2019 Macbook Pro 15 in, 32GB RAM , 1TB, Vega 20 -- HOT and slow to boot, is this normal? Posted: 05 Sep 2019 03:49 PM PDT I recently upgraded from my 2015 MBP which I loved (i goofed on a battery replacement and tore the keyboard switch on logicboard...) and I was curious as to why my top of the line MBP fails to boot as fast as my now almost 5 year old MBP. Anyone with similar issues? [link] [comments]
[Question] Dual macbook charging dock Posted: 05 Sep 2019 11:45 PM PDT Does this exsist? A dock where you can click/slide in 2 macbooks and they will automatically connect to a charger? Would be really nice since my gf and I both need our macbooks the next day. Ofcourse 2 chargers would do fine, but this is just a bit more practical. [link] [comments]
Charging a phone with a MBP charger Posted: 05 Sep 2019 10:51 AM PDT Stupid question but I'd like to have an answer. Can I damage my phone if I use my MacBook Pro USB-C charger to charge it? Will it damage it on the long term? [link] [comments]
"Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse is present" option not working? Posted: 05 Sep 2019 07:31 PM PDT So I'm assuming the option "Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse is present" is supposed to work as it states. When I connect my mouse via Bluetooth, nothing happens though. Both the mouse and trackpad function, and it even states that I have a mouse connected on the Mouse preferences. Can anyone help? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Question about my MacBook OS options. Posted: 05 Sep 2019 12:57 PM PDT Hey all- total Apple newbie here. I needed a computer for school, but rather than buy a new one (money) I took my wife's old/slow Macbook Pro and wiped it totally. It's running fast and well- the only problem is that it's old enough to not support some browsers, and consequently, some web functions. I've attempted to research and fix this as well as possible, but it's problematic. Here's what I know thus far: So I'm wondering if it is at all possible for me to upgrade to a new OS and what is the best way to do that. Thanks in advance for all your help! If there is a better subreddit to post this in, please let me know. [link] [comments]
MBP logic board crashed .... couldnt handle load? Posted: 05 Sep 2019 08:39 AM PDT i have a MBP that is a 15-inch, 2016, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB. i recently had to send it off for repair. they replaced the logic board for sypmtoms of no power/light, power adapter ok. 2x i/o board cables defective, mylar bmu edp TCON cables defective. not sure exactly what all that is other than the logic board. my question is does anyone know what may have caused something like this? i had been using it everyday for about two weeks for extended periods of time, in which i had quite a heavy load running. assuming this is what caused it. i had 2 separate windows running a game called runescape, which has very basic graphics, also which i had on the lowest setting possible. youtube running a video, and a couple tabs open as i was listing things on ebay, all simultaneously. is this too much for a mac to handle? i monitored temp while doing this, it never rose over about 52c. dont want to crash it again if this is too much for it. luckily i was still under warranty and they fixed it and shipped it back within 2 days of dropping it off. thanks for any help [link] [comments]
Pinch to zoom issues, is this normal? HELP! Posted: 05 Sep 2019 01:05 AM PDT Two weeks ago I bought my very first Macbook pro. A 13,3 inch 2019. I've been using the Acer spin before my MacBook and one feature that I thought Apple was known to be the king of, is mind boggling laggy and non responsive at times! The pinch to zoom. I can't live without this feature and it's driving me nuts how laggy it is in Chrome especially and how it sometimes doesn't even register the pinch in a lot more apps than it does. I've tried it with many apps and Microsoft Word seems to register the pinching the best. Although maybe 85% of the time. Safari is horrible and Google Chrome is by far the worst, here it sometimes doesn't even pick up the pinching. In browsers, what's also very frustrating is that PDF previews like in emails etc, don't even register the pinch to zoom and only register scrolling left, right, up and down within the pdf! This makes mr have to tap the + and - icons on the pdf window to be able to zoom in! Is this normal? Or is it a bug in my MacBook? My windows laptop would pinch to zoom so buttery smooth on ever single app that was in use. Scrolling works buttery smooth just the zooming in and out is horrible. Extra info: ·I noticed the lag from day 1 ·All apps are up to date and so is my software ·My MacBook is new and I have very few apps installed that are third party: -Telegram -Chrome -Microsoft office bundle Thanks to anyone who is willing to help! AppleStores SF Macbook 13' 16GB Posted: 05 Sep 2019 05:11 AM PDT Hi Guys, I will be in SF for 7 days and I'm planning to buy the new Macbook 13' but with 16GB (custom instead of default 8GB), but the problem is that normally you need to order online first. I don't want to pre order or post to my hotel, does not seem that safe to me... Do you think AppleStores in SF could have in stock some 16GB versions? Maybe another shop in area that could have in stock 16GB version? Thanks in advance! Regards, Leandro [link] [comments]
Questions regarding MBP 2019 fans RPM Posted: 04 Sep 2019 11:57 PM PDT Hey, so I just bought my first Macbook Pro (2019 - 13 inch, i5 2.40 GHz, 8GB, 256GB SSD, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655, macOS Mojave) and I have a question regarding the fans. I was using Safari (2/3 tabs open), Spotify and Final Cut Pro in the background (FCP did not render anything, just a new project that was open - so it didn't use CPU) for about an hour or so, when I noticed that the palm rest and keyboard were really hot (45-50 celsius degrees). Also, according to iStat Menus, the fans were running at about 1300 RPM. So my questions are: 1) what should be the base RPM of the fans (i read somewhere that is should be somewhere around 2000) 2) why didn't the MBP automatically increase the RPM? As a side note, after noticing that, I installed Mac Fan Control, set up a higher RPM for the fans and the temperature got lower (to about 35-40 degress) with noticeable effects (the keyboard and palmrest did not feel hot anymore). Thanks. [link] [comments] |
