My new macbook air's keyboard is repeating "i" and "o" Posted: 23 Sep 2019 10:23 PM PDT I got this brand new about a month agoo, I believe it is a 2018 model. It just started typiing i and o twice sometimes, and the repeat soometimes even happens out of order, the i or o sometimes shows up after I type another letter. I'm not sure what to do about this, I turned off key repeat and I'm not sure what else to try. It's bugging me a loot. edit: for example, I just typed this to my friends "s oi shouold use the quadratic equation?" I'm mad [link] [comments]
Best Case/Sleve to protect 15 in Pro? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 10:05 PM PDT Hi Guys, Going to pick up my Macbook Pro on Friday and have been doing quite a bit of reading that indicated getting a case/sleeve to store it in when not in use. I have read that getting a case to protect against the humidity/sudden temp rises/drops is better for the machine. Is this true at all? Will mostly be using indoors and won't be moving it around except for the occasional time I will take it to Uni for presentations and group work. Would prefer something more streamlined, or less bulky, as I would like it to double as a protective case for travel. Can anyone give me some recommendations? I live in Sydney, Australia; so the weather is pretty humid and will be getting quite hot soon. Currently, I am looking at this one from Apple: https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/HMN82ZM/A/incase-15-envelope-sleeve-in-woolenex-for-macbook-pro-with-thunderbolt-3-usb-c?fnode=626013f1026dcbd5e75ffd5b0b43ed56ded09f02401091d8c8555028b2b871f7fa48ab015a8ca89cb951b153d08aa149c1e22d1a563a4844bb35cd1e4522032fac363a068cc36132791279b9805c722cb185d63f1c7e028e96295e9797ff14c6604d6e9a4d289a04c2b7d2864fe9631a&fs=f%3D15_mbp_thdblt3_late2016%26fh%3D4592%252B4804 Thanks for your help guys! How are the batteries on your older MacBooks? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 06:35 PM PDT I've heard of some people having to replace the batteries in their old MacBooks. I have a MacBook Air early 2014 with its original battery and it still holds 93.6% of its capacity after almost 600 cycles. Out of curiosity I was wondering how the batteries are doing on your old MacBooks? [link] [comments]
Is there any good Macbook that is under 500 dollars that will support Catalina. Posted: 23 Sep 2019 05:08 PM PDT Have a Surface Go right now and it began to slow down and I want to get a Macbook. Which one can I get that runs fast for around 500 or below maybe that still runs well. [link] [comments]
2017 13-in. Pro non-touch bar: Insane fan noise at low CPU / RAM usage. Good air flow. Posted: 23 Sep 2019 03:29 PM PDT Any ideas? The fans are just killing my entire experience, had an '09 13" and a 2014 15" and barely even noticed them. [link] [comments]
Is a 16" MacBook Pro going to be a real thing? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:06 PM PDT Is a 16" MBP going to be a real thing or just a rumor? I'm planning to replace my 2013 MacBook Air & Pro. I can pull the trigger now but it *sounds* like this 16" version may happen in by next month. Is that accurate or am I just wasting time waiting for something that's never going to happen? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:44 AM PDT Hi everyone, so I am kind of considering to purchase the newest MacBook Pro but I am not sure if my 2012 MBP is worth it in the long run/better than the 2019 MBP. My current MBP is very slow to load everything but that is because I need to upgrade to the newest SSD. I currently have about 80GB that is being used up out of 500GB. I use the laptop for casual browsing, occasional gaming (Steam and ROMs emulators), occasional video editing (FCP & Adobe Premiere) and for school. I have plenty of storage because I wanna be able to have room for video editing so I also have my own external hard drive (2TB). I guess I'm just wondering if I should just keep my 2012 MBP and upgrade parts or just buy a new MBP? [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Sep 2019 08:54 AM PDT So a few weeks ago my 2017 MacBook Pro started acting weird, I had to reset the SMC a few times to get the battery to charge. I decided to take the laptop to an Authorized service provider for inspection, they said the battery needs to be replaced and they can do it for free under the Keyboard Replacement Program. A few days later, I get a call from them and they say that the "Thermal Paste" has a problem and that's why the laptop heats up and damages the battery, I asked them why this component was failing and they said that they don't know and recommended replacing the CPU. Here's the problem, the CPU was completely undamaged, no burning, breakage or water damage, it had just simply stopped working. The technician said that they can't find anything wrong with it and yet it's failing, so they recommended that I contact Apple since they suspect a manufacturing defect. Apple is now refusing to do anything about it, they say since I don't have Apple Care, it's my problem. I kept arguing that since it's a manufacturing defect, it's Apple's responsibility but so far they've refused to take responsibility. Besides the fact that I've now learned how vital Apple Care is, anyone have a recommendation on how I should proceed? [link] [comments]
Late 2018 Macbook Pro display is acting up... Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:45 AM PDT See the pics. My screen randomly flashes artifacts like this on different parts of the display. I don't think it is something panel related given the random nature, is it possible the gpu causing this? [link] [comments]
Backing up MacBook in its entirety? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:10 AM PDT This may be a stupid question, but is there any way I can completely back up my MacBook Pro (15' Retina 2015) so if I ever lost it, I could plug in a hard drive into a new laptop and have everything there exactly as it was before? I have used Time Machine before but it only gave me the option to drag certain files back onto the desktop. Is there software or hardware available that can do this? I am basically asking this as in the event my laptop was ever lost/stolen could I back it up in its entirety onto something so I could use the new laptop with all the stolen laptop's apps and software. Sorry if this sounds a bit stupid. I would really appreciate any help on this! Thanks [link] [comments]
Macbook Air Early-2014, spacebar registers when resting fingers on it. Posted: 23 Sep 2019 01:21 AM PDT Past couple of days I've noticed that my Macbook's spacebar has gotten very sensitive and a light touch will register a button press. If I just rest a finger on it it will work, without actually needing to press in the key. Has anyone had this issue before? Any ideas for a fix? [link] [comments] |
