Posted: 03 Sep 2019 12:53 PM PDT I've had corruption problems with external hard drives in the past because the heaviness of the drive And wiggling of the cords eject accidentally all the time so i'd rather have a flash that can just live in my laptop. Thanks [link] [comments] |

Why doesn't my new USB-C charging cable charge my MacBook Air? Posted: 03 Sep 2019 07:29 PM PDT I bought a multi-connector charging cable (USB-C, lighting, micro USB) and tried using it to charge my 2018 MacBook Air with the Apple 30W power adapter. However, if I connect it to my computer, I get a message in the battery menu that says "Battery is not charging". Is this a problem with the cable or do I just need a more powerful adapter? Switch from one Apple ID to Family Sharing Posted: 03 Sep 2019 05:51 PM PDT A work colleague came and saw me the other day. She, her husband and their two teenage sons all own iPhones and have all been using the single Apple ID (in her name) since forever. She's only just found out about Family Sharing and wants to know the easiest (most 'pain-free') method to switch everyone over to their own Apple ID's using Family Sharing. Thing is, they've even been sharing all their own Contacts through the one Apple ID (which is what finally brought this to a head). I've had a google search, but everything I've found is several years old and I'm not sure how relevant a lot of it still is. Thanks for any help. [link] [comments] |
Early 2015 13” Retina Macbook Pro graphical glitches whenever i’m not in safe mode. Posted: 03 Sep 2019 03:40 PM PDT I have tried restoring it, resetting NVRAM, and resetting SMC. I know its not a hardware issue because the screen works flawlessly in safe mode. Any suggestions? It is on the most current firmware. [link] [comments] |

Please Help Need AFPS on Drive Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:52 PM PDT Good Evening Guys, I was trying to open up Xcode but it will not let me because my Mac is not up to date 10.14.2 I try and check for update but it doesn't find any update. The reason is that my disk type is on PCI-Express Internal Physical Volume. I can't update from safe mode nor reinstall Mac OS from recovery. What can I do to update my Mac.... I need to use Xcode for my class ASAP. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:35 PM PDT My iPhone XR recently started having problems where sideways rotation stopped working, and apps don't go from vertical to sideways, or won't flip around when upside down. However, tilting in car racing Games works. Can I troubleshoot this without paying to fix it or opening it up? [link] [comments] |

[Mac] How do I stop applications from opening whenever I log in? Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:05 PM PDT I've searched a handful of sources and they all say: System Preferences>Users & Groups>Select the user>click the "Login Items" Tab>check the boxes you wish to not see when u start up>click lock. MacBook constantly dropping WiFi Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:00 PM PDT I have a MacBook Air purchased new in 2017 that constantly loses connection to WiFi. I know that it's not an issue with the modem/router because all the other devices have no issues. My IPhone has a stable connection, my Xbox never loses signal when I stream through WiFi, and my girlfriends laptop works without interruption as well. We have a very strong signal and pay for pretty fast internet. What's weirder is that if I try to connect to the the network after losing connection it asks for the password and then tells me the password is incorrect...even though it works on everything else so it's obviously correct. Not to mention if I click to turn WiFi off and then back on again it automatically connects and works fine again...for a few minutes. Anyone have any ideas on what I can try to stop this problem? Has anyone else experienced this issue? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Sep 2019 07:54 PM PDT I have a 10.5 inch iPad Pro. I really like it but I've been getting a problem lately. I usually hold my iPad sideways with the home button on the right. It lets me operate the home button with my non dominant hand and operate the other stuff that matters with my dominant left hand and it is the way my case is designed to prop up. But for some reason, my fingerprint just randomly stopped working on my right thumb. The tread on that thumb looks better than my left thumb since that hand normally isn't used as much. It just randomly stopped working with that thumb though. It won't even let me reset it and says I need to use a different finger. My left thumb works fine though. I don't know if there is something wrong with my thumb or if my iPad is messed up. The only major trouble I have with it is sometimes the screen will not respond to touch correctly very intermittently on random occasions. I'm just kinda confused why it would be doing this. Late 2011 Macbook Pro 15 crashing Posted: 03 Sep 2019 09:00 AM PDT Computer began freezing and going to a black screen. On restarting, I get to log in screen and after putting in my password, a loading bar shows up under my user icon, the bar fills about 10% then screen goes black. I have taken it to Apple this week and they ran diagnostics, couldn't find any errors, and at the same time they completely wiped my hard drive and updated to the latest OS. No change in behavior. The guy helping me thinks either the ram or logic board is failing. He is leaning more towards ram, saying I likely wouldn't even get to the log in screen if logic board is dead. Any ideas? I can order and replace the RAM but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something first. [link] [comments] |

Help transferring music files from iPod to PC Posted: 03 Sep 2019 07:20 PM PDT Hello, Is there a way to transfer music files from my ipod to my pc? I have the iPod set up to manually manage music and videos, but when I plug it in and find it on my computer, there isn't a file list on the iPod. I'm trying to follow this tutorial but I'm not seeing the files on the ipod folder. If anyone has any tips I would love to get these albums back. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Sep 2019 06:52 PM PDT TL;DR Years of issues since day one! Multiple parts replaced! Three clean installs! Now, I've yet to re-add my old files and computer is so far good. Slightly longer story: After years of piss ass performance, a failed hard drive, a replaced motherboard (at my request), odd USB failures, weird display issues, and the tick tick of death in my hard drive, I was resolved that my iMac (late 2015, 21.5 inch) was a lemon. The last time I brought it in, the genius was much more encouraging but still mostly stuck to the script. I didn't really get any new insights relative to past visits, but she did say one thing I had long suspected: Don't migrate anything you don't need. So I haven't migrated or restored anything. I'm working on a fresh install with virtually nothing saved local. While my files are safe, I'd rather not be living off a hard drive and/or investing in a new one (I do need a new Time Machine, after all.) Is there some way to I can do like a deep scan or something to find out what the problem might be? I don't think virus/malware is to blame — I really don't — but I can't figure out what else can be the case. Open to suggestions. [link] [comments] |

Bluetooth mouse latency problems Posted: 03 Sep 2019 09:12 AM PDT I use a Bluetooth Insignia mouse while I play some games on my MacBook Pro. I've noticed that there are some significant latency problems with it. Whenever I move the mouse and then stop, it still registers it as moving for a significant amount of time. This messes with my aim a lot, and I was wondering if there was a way to improve the latency or not. Is a wired mouse just better then? [link] [comments] |
Info about icloud subscrition. Posted: 03 Sep 2019 05:35 PM PDT Hello, i hope this is the right section. I have doubts on 2 things about icloud. I paid for 200gb space and occupied 140gb. 1) If there will be a problem with the credit card or something else and for 2/3 days i will be unable to pay the subscription renewal, what happens to my files? I have time to correct the problem or my files will be deleted immediately? On the apple site this is not clear what happens to files from 5gb (free) to 200gb or more if we stop pay the service. 2) I know that this question is near to "impossible" but.. if the hackers or someone else delete the icloud storage, apple have more copies to guarantee us the security of our files? Thank you :) [link] [comments] |
