Logitech K380 vs Keys to go

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 11:15 AM PDT

Just picked up an 2018 11" IPP that I plan on using for school. I'm hoping that the I will only have to take the iPad to campus most days, (unless I need software that I can only get on my MBP or plan on spending a ton of time studying on campus) so I'm looking for a a light-duty keyboard that I can easily toss in my backpack.

One of the main things I'm looking for is a keyboard that is similar in size to a MBP keyboard, as I can't stand typing on compact keyboards. For this reason, I've ruled out the Smart Keyboard case, since the 11" version is much smaller than the keyboard on my MBP. From what I've seen, the 12.9" is almost identical in length (in landscape mode) to the current MBP keyboards, so I'm looking for something that's roughly that size.

In the bit of research that I've done, it seems like the K380 and Keys to Go are the front runners. I'm leaning towards keys to go due to its portability and shallow keys (I love typing on the MBP butterfly keys), but I'm a bit worried about how well it will hold up in my backpack due to how thin it is.

The K380 also seems nice, but it is bulkier and a bit overkill for me as I'll only be using this keyboard for my iPad. However, I've never typed on either of these keyboards, so if the experience is head and shoulders over the KTG I'd definitely lean that way.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Selling Formerly Unlocked iPad

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 02:27 PM PDT

I want to switch my Sprint plan to my new iPad. My old iPad was unlocked before acquiring the sprint plan. After moving the plan to my new iPad, would my old one go back to being unlocked? I don't want to sell it under false pretenses if not.

Keyboard Folio strong enough for lap usage?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 06:53 AM PDT

So I am thinking about getting an 11 inch iPad Pro along with the keyboard folio. This would essentially replace my laptop (almost)...mostly being used for photos editing, media consumption, notes and general web usage.

Is the keyboard folio strong enough to use, say, when you're lounging back on the couch with it on your lap, like a laptop, without the screen toppling over?

    What's been your experience?

Is it worth upgrading from iPad Pro 10.5 (2017) to iPad Pro 11 (2018)?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 06:14 AM PDT

My partner and I are wondering if we should sell our iPad Pro 10.5 (with pencil and smart keyboard) now while we can still get some money for it, and upgrade to the latest iPad Pro 11 model. What are peoples thoughts? Is the new pencil, Face ID and redesign worth it?

    Youtube Unresponsive.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 07:07 AM PDT

At times when I am watching youtube on my iPad it becomes unresponsive while a video is playing. I would goto full screen and then it just locks up but the video keeps playing. I then swipe up from the bttm to shut it down and after I clear it it plays for a few seconds then refreshes to the home screen. Any ideas?

    iPad's and PDF's

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 10:49 AM PDT

So, random question for you all.

I dungeon master for my friends a lot, playing a variety of TableTop RPGs online with my group since we were kids. Life takes you places, but thank god for the internet.

Long story short, I buy my books in PDF format on DriveThruRPG. I have a lot of PDFs. I typically read them on a kindle, but this tablet is getting long in the tooth. Looking at the wider tablet world, it seems that iPad is really the only option for tablets, the Android side of things hasn't done much on the tablet front it seems. I'm not much of an Apple guy, but I love macOS just as much as my Windows and Linux OS's and I appreciate the fact that Apple does what it does with regards to privacy, unlike a certain other company.

So that leads to my question, how well does an iPad work as a PDF reader? Is there a particular app for it? What about the transfer process, is it through iTunes? How well does the iPad handle casual video watching? My wife and I watch a lot of anime and tv shows in bed before we go to sleep, another thing the Kindle is starting to crap out on. I'm looking at this model, I dig the athestics of it and the price is great to boot.

iPad 2: is it still useable with the latest iOS supported?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 08:26 AM PDT

Hello guys. I'm going the second year of high school in September, and I was planning on buying an iPad for notes (I would use an adaptable keyboard for it tho, not with the apple pencil). Now, I don't wanna spend too much honestly, as it's relatively just for notes and Netflix, so I was planning on buying an older model. I came across a very great, great deal. It's an iPad 2 with iOS 9.3.5. Now, I want to know if it's too old. Does the iPad 2 even not lag on this version? Can it still be usable?

    Thanks

    IPad Pro 12.9 Screen Protector

    Posted: 09 Aug 2019 04:17 AM PDT

    Hello everyone!

I recently picked up my first Apple device and I was just looking for a solid screen protector to preserve the device. What is the best screen protector that preserves the quality of the screen while being well-compatible with the Apple Pencil? I could care less about the feel of the pencil.

    Thanks in advance!
