Out of all apps, how does Settings not support slide over / split screen? Posted: 31 Aug 2019 12:06 PM PDT Even in iOS 13, its ridiculous to have to exit whatever app I'm in and pull up settings in full screen. It feels like a perfect app for slide over when a quick adjustment needs to be made in it. [link] [comments]

Need a way to manage music library without a *real* computer Posted: 31 Aug 2019 12:08 PM PDT So. I'm the proud owner of an 11" 2018 iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and XS Max, love how these devices work together etc. etc. Lately, I noticed I haven't really used my MBP as much as I used to as it feels slower than the iPad, it heats up and it's display isn't as beautiful so I started to consider selling my MBP until I realize I can't be without it if I want to continue managing my iOS/iPadOS devices. As far as I know, there is not way to backup or restore my iPhone from my iPad and there's no way to download a zipped music album on my iPad, unzip it and add it to my library then sync it to my iPhone. So, how does Apple expect us to do without our actual macOS/Windows computers if the mobile devices are still incredibly limited on what the can do? I know many of you will simply recommend using Google Music, Apple Music, Spotify and cloud services but other than photos I can say they don't work as well as having my music in local files that I can tag, change album art and organize myself (besides, 90% of my music library can't be found on these streaming services). Has anyone found a way to completely do without their MacBooks and just go with an iPad and iPhone alone? How do you manage your local backups and media? Hoping for some good discussions on this topic. [link] [comments]

Has anyone had issues with PDF expert view area breaking? Posted: 31 Aug 2019 12:38 PM PDT I started having this issue last night after converting an epub to pdf and opening it all inside pdf expert. As soon as I opened the pdf, I noticed the view area was all bugged and wonky. So, I tried to delete the pdf and open another assuming it was an issue with that particular pdf and noticed the second one was also having the same issue. I deleted the app, reinstalled and the issues are persisting. I also tried powering off my ipad and powering it back between delete and reinstall. Deleting any cloud information associated with pdf expert did not solve the issue either. Basically pdf expert thinks only the left most 2/3 of the screen can be used as the viewing area and it's so irritating. Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it? I've attached two photos where you can see in better detail what i'm talking about. To add, I've also reached out to readdle but have not received any kind of response yet. [link] [comments]
Notepad++ equivalent on iPad OS Posted: 31 Aug 2019 07:54 AM PDT Notepad++ on PC is very convenient to go through any programming language script. Would like to know whether similar app or at least code viewer for HTML, JS and C# available on iPadOS? [link] [comments]
A taller tablet holder was a good investment Posted: 31 Aug 2019 04:24 AM PDT Now using my iPad mini with a mouse is even more enjoyable, and no more neck pain. [link] [comments]
Does GoodNotes5 take up significantly more space than Notability? Posted: 31 Aug 2019 09:59 AM PDT I'm choosing to buy either GN5 or Notability, and I'm currently heavily leaning towards GN5 -- except for the space issue. I was watching a video by "PaperlessStudent" on Youtube and it looks like Notability takes up 3MB per note, while GN5 takes up about 100 MB per note (!!!!). Has this been true for everyone else? It's kind of surprising that GN5 would take that much more space than Notability (that's 33 times more!). I have a 64 GB iPad Air and I don't want it to get filled before college ends (at least). Posted: 31 Aug 2019 07:26 AM PDT I've been wondering what the best way is to go about organising my home screen. I'm used to Android phones and an app drawer, which made it easier to declutter my screens. Now everything I installed is just put in the order that I downloaded it. I use search most of the time to get the apps I need, but everything looks so messy. How do you keep everything tidy? - do you have 1 screen with everything sorted into folders? - do you have 1 home screen for every different use case? (Work/play/photography/...) I'm curious what you use now or what you think is best practice. [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Aug 2019 01:54 PM PDT Hey guys ! I was wondering if anybody could recommend me a good series of tutorials on Affinity Designer, I'm already pretty efficient with it but I'd like to improve my workflow even more. Their own tutorials are indeed informative but I'm not a fan of the guy being basically dead inside when talking. Thanks in advance ! [link] [comments]

iPad Brightness Changing but Auto-Adjust is OFF Posted: 31 Aug 2019 01:05 PM PDT Brightness on my iPad mini 4 keeps changing, but the brightness slider says it's at full the entire time and the auto-adjust option is off. Happens about once every couple of minutes, regardless of the app being used. [link] [comments]

Have Apple patched the Sidecar workaround? Posted: 31 Aug 2019 11:59 AM PDT Im currently running Mac OS Cantalina V10.15 on an early 2015 MBP alongside Ipad OS 13.1 on 11 inch Ipad pro. I have tried all the terminal patches but cannot for the life of me get sidecar working. It's not even an option in my system preferences, i can however search for it in Spotlight Search. I am not sure if i am doing it wrong or I have just missed the boat before apple have patched the workarounds. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or has anyone found another way to override the hardware block on earlier Mac models? [link] [comments]
Does sliding apps up in the iPadOS Slide Over switcher force close them? Posted: 31 Aug 2019 11:56 AM PDT I hate force closing apps unnecessarily. Can anyone test how this behaves? Are we encouraged to close apps in the Slide Over switcher? IPadOS testers get in here! [link] [comments]

Someone moved my cheese, can you assist? Posted: 30 Aug 2019 10:36 PM PDT I'm a teacher who loves using his IPad in class. Last year every class started with a kid plugging my IPad to a projector. Alas, the school decided to "upgrade" the system and now you need to have an app called DisplayLink on your device in order co connect it to the projector. The app is not available for Apple products. No I need to bring my clumsy laptop, like a barbarian, and connect it. Here's the question, how can I take advantage of my spare iPad?[link] [comments] |
