Posted: 06 Aug 2019 08:41 AM PDT Considering how difficult it is to get refunds on poor apps, I now see it as anything that doesn't have a trial is just not worth putting my money toward. I understand the reasons this is not the case (high potential for abuse), but I would much rather put money towards developers if I knew they had an incentive to create high quality paid apps instead of the current lottery with every purchase... Remember to REJECT ARBITRATION Posted: 06 Aug 2019 04:05 PM PDT To the people that have been getting approved for the new Apple Card, you should reject the arbitration provision. The following is from another comment I wrote: Heads up y'all, there's an arbitration clause. If you plan to apply for this card and get accepted, then I strongly encourage you to opt out or reject the arbitration. I tried to make a new post out of this but auto moderator is hiding it. From [https://www.goldmansachs.com/terms-and-conditions/Apple-Card-Customer-Agreement.pdf](https://www.goldmansachs.com/terms-and-conditions/Apple-Card-Customer-Agreement.pdf)
By not rejecting this provision, you will forfeit any public court claim against Goldman Sachs. If you are not familiar with arbitration, basically it's a third party HIRED BY Goldman Sachs in order to review the claim by you (the plaintiff) and settle the matter. In cases of arbitration, decisions are typically in favor of the defendant. If you want to read up on arbitration in the US, there are plenty of resources online and I encourage you to form your opinion. While it states you only need to submit the rejection once, I suggest to complete all three options and send the rejection letter via certified mail. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Aug 2019 11:50 AM PDT TLDR at the end ;) Hey all, First of all, I wanted to thank you mods for allowing me to make this post. I love Reddit and even though I don't post much, I spend most of my day on here. Most people check Reddit on their phones. Reddit has a great mobile app and there are lots of alternatives, but I'm a software developer and I spend all my time on my computer. It was about 2 years ago (around the time Reddit introduced their new website). I was getting really frustrated with the new site and decided to build the best desktop experience for Reddit. Since I use a Mac, I wanted to start out with a native macOS app. I wanted to build something that works fast, feels smooth & modern. I had to build something that feels like Apple themselves took the time to build a Reddit client for macOS. As I was working on it, I realized most online communities are the same. There are channels, posts, comments, likes/votes etc. So I thought why not build an open source plugin architecture which allows other developers to build plugins to bring their favorite communities into the app. So far, I already built plugins for YouTube, Hacker News and Indie Hackers in addition to Reddit. I plan on open sourcing all plugins after I polish a few things on my end ;-) Fast forward to today, the app is almost done and I am now looking for early adopters. It's hard to believe it ended up being almost 2 years project but looking back, it was well worth it! I'm calling the app Yack! and you can check out the screenshots here: Please comment here and let me know your OS version and if you're interested in beta testing my app. TLDR: I have been working on a native macOS Reddit app for the past 2 years and it's finally Here's a link to screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/iDV2qIU Please comment here and let me know if you're interested in beta testing it. EDIT: Thank you all for your support 🙏🙏 I honestly wasn't expecting this much love and it's been great getting feedback from all of you 😍😍 My inbox (RIP) is unusable at the moment. If you still want to join Yack! beta, please sign up using this link: As soon as you sign up, you'll receive an invitation code in your email. If you don't get it within a few minutes, please check your spam/junk folder. You can download Yack from here: https://yack.io/download and unlock it using your invitation code. Just got approved for Apple Card! Posted: 06 Aug 2019 08:40 AM PDT I got a push notification about 10 minutes ago saying that Apple Card setup was available in the wallet app. Going through the entire process of applying, setting up the card in my Wallet App, and getting my physical card shipped took maybe 5 minutes. Very impressed overall. I got a pretty decent credit limit and interest rate. If you have any questions please post below ! [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Aug 2019 12:12 AM PDT Recently, I've been considering getting what would be my first iPad first one since the original iPad mini from 2012. In my scouring the internet of reviews, recommendations, and whatnot pertaining to which iPad I might get, I realized that after what has felt to me like shaky marketing ever since the release of the iPad Air, I think Apple has finally found a solid iPad marketing strategy/four-device lineup. I thought it would be cool to visualize the almost decade-long history of the iPad, and what it's taken to get to the (in my humble opinion) really nice marketing scheme for one of the most popular personal computers on the market. In case any of y'all are curious, here's the timeline I created. [link] [comments]
I gotta say, these AirPods are damned nice. Posted: 06 Aug 2019 08:36 AM PDT I'm not super happy with the price (I got the $199 model), but I do love the convenience of the charging, and they sound much better than I was expecting. Also, I don't know why these don't fall out when the wired ones did; the wired buds seemed lighter than these, so I thought they would hold on better than the wireless. I must say, these AirPods are complete crap when it comes to listening to music on a plane. The ambient engine noise cuts out the music to the point where it's worse than not even having them in my ears. I am super glad I purchased the Bose headphones for that - it's a WORLD of difference. But the airpods are super convenient and sound great! [link] [comments]
Apple store experience is lacking Posted: 06 Aug 2019 09:27 AM PDT Years ago I'll admit they seemed over staffed (it felt like more employees than customers) but it was always a quick and convenient experience. I have a couple of stores within a few minutes of my work or home, so it's always been easy to pop in and buy something. I know exactly what I want, I don't have any questions, I just need to give them my money. Yesterday I went in to buy a pair of Powerbeats Pro but as I wandered the store, I couldn't find any sales associate that wasn't already busy with someone else. When I finally was able to talk to someone, I was told I had to wait in a queue to buy the item. Waiting in line to buy something in a store is totally reasonable - but the way the Apple store is laid out is a poor experience. When staffing was high you could just walk up to anyone and make a purchase. With staffing being cut, you're wandering around not knowing how long each associates' virtual queue is. Might as well go back to the traditional retail mode of registers and lines so you at least have an expectation of what the wait will be. Is it just me? Does anyone else feel the Apple sales model just doesn't work right with inadequate staffing? My last purchase a few months ago took about 45 minutes (to get a sealed box in my hand - no setup). FWIW, I ended up buying the Powerbeats on Amazon as I didn't need them immediately and at least I know what to expect with Amazon. [link] [comments]
