Posted: 04 Jul 2019 06:59 PM PDT I have a relatively new iPhone XR. Today, when I was trying to get a Smart Plug set up, I realized that hardly any WiFi networks are showing up for me in Settings. My husband (who has an older iPhone) was sitting next to me and he had about 7 more networks showing for him, including the one for the Smart Plug. It never showed up for me and I realized my wireless printer isn't showing up either. I tried a network reset and it didn't resolve the issue. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Jul 2019 08:12 PM PDT Just some quick background: I have an iPhone SE with AT&T and it has the latest iOS. So yesterday night, my friend tried to get a hold of me while I was at home watching a movie. She messaged me through imessage, facebook message, snapchat, and even tried looking for me on find my friends. However, her messages were not sending through any of those, besides snapchat, and apparently my location could not be found. She also doubled check to make sure there was nothing wrong on her end by messaging other people. So that most likely means something was wrong on my end. However, I had my phone next to me, and I am always constantly checking up on it to make sure I don't miss any notifications. But for whatever reason, I didn't receive any of her messages or notifications, until I got up and moved around my house after I had watched the movie. Once I did, all the notifications hit me at once. Now I wasn't connected to my home's wifi at that time, but I saw I had signal on my phone, whenever I checked it. So basically now she thinks I ignored her on purpose and is seriously pissed at me, when in reality I wasn't ignoring her at all, and I was just relaxing and I had no idea any of this was happening until I moved around and received all the notifications. Does anyone have any ideas on why this potentially happened? And does anyone have any suggestions to show to her I was actually at home watching a movie? She doesn't believe anything I'm saying and I don't know how else to prove to her I wasn't ignoring her on purpose. [link] [comments] |

It doesn't happen in any type of routine. It just played 3 times in a row and most days it doesn't play at all. I have no clue where this is coming from. Please help me make it stop! [Help] Messed up contacts after switching IPhone Posted: 04 Jul 2019 02:47 PM PDT My Mum switched from her old IPhone 7 to an IPhone 8 today. As always when switching phone I made a backup on her computer and then set up the new IPhone with the backup. But we just noticed that her contacts are completely messed up. For Example: there is a contact with my first name and my phone number but a different last name and another email adress or my sisters number and her first name with another last name and the birth date is off by a few days. It seems like the contacts were randomly merged together? Some details that might help: The contacts are not saved on her ICloud account as far as I can tell. At least logging off and back in didn't change anything. The newer IPhone was updated today so it runs the latest ios version available for IPhone 8. The older one was updated last at the end of last year I think so the ios version is a bit older but not completely outdated. The computer I made the backup on isn't an apple product but it runs the latest ITunes version. Does anyone know how to fix this? She has about 2000 contacts so it would be hard to fix them by hand... Or maybe there is a way to only re-sync the contacts? Because everything else works perfectly and I would rather not set up the whole phone again. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Jul 2019 01:53 PM PDT Yeah I did a stupid thing a trusted the water rating and accidentally had my phone submerged in a pool. Today is the day after it spend the night in rice and there is no change. I have checked my warranty and found that my phone is still covered by Apple Care + and that the liquid exposure indicator in the sim tray is still white and fine. There is slight fog inside the front camera, not to the point where there is a problem with face ID though. The normal back camera has slightly more moisture than the front, but the 2x zoom lens has visible droplets of water. TLDR: My iPhone X took a dunk. Liquid damage indicator is fine (not red) still and there is condensation on the cameras. Otherwise phone is fine. Phone is still covered by Apple Care Plus so will they treat this as liquid damage or can I just have it be a normal $99 repair? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Jul 2019 12:59 PM PDT My first is that the bottom quarter inch or so of my screen is flashing a translucent version of the top quarter inch, so for example I see stuff like the time and my battery percentage on the bottom. I've determined that this is from swiping up to the control panel, but it doesn't happen every time I use the control panel. It also goes away randomly. I tried screenshotting and it didn't show up on the screenshot My second problem is that my WiFi disconnects and sometimes reconnects every 5-20 seconds. It only happens on the WiFi network at my house, and resetting the router didn't work. I'd also like to note that this isn't happening to other iPhones in my house [link] [comments] |
[HELP] iPhone 7 Stuck in Bootloop - Home Button No Longer Working Posted: 04 Jul 2019 03:00 AM PDT hey Guys, I have a Jailbroken IPhone 7 on ios 12 The other day I was on a Facetime call and my battery was low so my iPhone turned off. It then got stuck in a bootloop when the apple logo would appear, the screen would then go blank, and the apple logo would appear again. I tried charging in DFU mode, a hard reset, I also did an iTunes update and restore in DFU mode. Nothing. After leaving the iPhone on charge overnight it opened to the "Hello" setup page, but my home button no longer works! So in order to continue setup you need to press the home button, or turn the iPhone on and off. I did so and now it is stuck in the same bootloop and occasionally shows the hello screen. The homebutton works half the time when it does load... I managed to go through the setup and onto home page and the iPhone restarted and got stuck in bootloop again. My iPhone was working perfectly until this point, all the buttons worked and the battery was ok. I also don't think the problem is Jailbreak related because I did restore it in DFU mode. I assume this is a hardware issue. My research shows that it could be the battery, IC sensor, Audio code, motherboard or the front camera. Any recommendation as to how to fix? [link] [comments] |
