My experience with Sidecar so far Posted: 04 Jul 2019 03:26 PM PDT I've been using it with the 2018 12.9 ipad pro and a 2018 13" mbp. Latest beta (3?). Noticed a few things
Context: I like the idea of using the ipad as second display on the go. For this it must be quiet enough to use in public places and it must not drain the battery too much. overall I am very impressed with the performance, but the risk of it running the mac even louder and hotter than normal is a pretty big problem for me [link] [comments]
Has anyone been in Apple Developer Academy in Naples? Posted: 04 Jul 2019 07:54 AM PDT I've completed the application form and will have my exam next week. Just wanted to ask past students: What is the difficulty level of questions on the exam? The self-assessment quiz is easy. Are calculators allowed? lol What kind of questions do they ask on the Skype interview? Will I have to present my previous projects? (I have some) Where did you live? In dorms or did you rent an apartment? What job opportunities did you get after finishing the Academy? [link] [comments]
Does the iPhone use the microphone to anticipate searches in Safari? Posted: 04 Jul 2019 10:58 PM PDT I can't find any documentation, and only one program (not safari) has ever requested access to my microphone. I've had several searches anticipate what I wanted based on conversations I was having (or TV I was watching). The Siri assistant is not enabled. A few weeks ago I was watching "Lucifer" and the main character was playing the piano, and singing. I opened up Safari, and before I finished typing the first generic word "lyrics" it had already brought up lyrics to the song that was being sung on the TV. (Creep - by Radiohead) which I had never searched for before Today it happened 3 times, once we were talking about Tom Brady's wife immediately before I opened Safari (to find out how old Brady is) and before I had typed in "Tom" Gisele appeared as a suggestion The most recent time I was talking about one of Mozart's songs, that I hadn't heard of before today, and had never searched for, and before I finished typing "Mozart"... the very song I had just discussed was the suggested link. Anybody else getting a lot of suggested links that seem based off conversations you were literally just having, that would suggest your phone's microphone is listening. [link] [comments]
