| Posted: 28 Jul 2019 09:12 PM PDT So for a while now my pictures have a little explanation point in the bottom right corner. It says something along the lines of "error cannot share". When I try and post them or send them to anyone. I just screen shifted the picture and then sent it or posted it. Very recently my pictures just started turning blank. Just a little white square in my photos. These pictures have a little cloud in the bottom right hand corner. This has only happened to a few pictures and they are all newer. I'm scared of losing my pictures. Does anyone know what to do. Also I've had my phone for about 3 years unused. [link] [comments]  |
| Water damage to iPhone 6 causing broken Touch ID, hot home button, and battery drain in standby. Posted: 28 Jul 2019 07:33 PM PDT I got my phone a little wet and noticed 3 things, the battery started draining super fast, the touch ID didn't work (it gives me an unable to activate message), and my home button would occasionally get super hot. I did some software troubleshooting (hard reset, full restore to factory settings, etc.) and none of that fixed it. I opened it up and nothing looked immediately unusual, but since my home button seemed to be damaged I unhinged the flex cable connector and closed it up. Now that the home button is disconnected, the battery works fine, and it no longer gets super hot. Now I'm just without a home button and touch ID (which isn't the worst, but I'd like it back). I'm no expert, but I've done minor repairs like replacing the glass. I'm guessing there's some short circuit concerning the home button that's draining the battery and keeping the touch ID from working, but I wanted the opinion of more experienced minds. Is this something that I could fix by cleaning the connectors for the home button? Or could the problem be deeper and it's not that simple to diagnose? | Web browsing showing on a different phone Posted: 28 Jul 2019 10:29 PM PDT I'm posting here because I'm at my wit's end with my boss who is complaining of a problem. First things first, you should understand he's a full-on 100% idiot, and his wife's not much better, so I don't trust his description of what's wrong. I wish I was being unnecessarily harsh, but I'm not. Every day is a new problem, usually with his iPhone - which he has no clue how to use. I'm not an iPhone user and the Apple ecosystem regularly baffles me, so try as I might I haven't a clue how to fix his problem which he has told me to fix every day for the last three weeks. What is supposedly happening is at night when he's browsing websites on his phone, they will briefly pop up on his wife's iPhone downstairs when she's browsing Facebook. He wants me to stop this behaviour because "he's scared she'll divorce him if she catches him watching porn" (he makes this joke at least twice a day). His description is that he's been looking at car sales websites, then the car he's looking at will appear on her phone. I told her to take a screenshot but she apparently hasn't been fast enough to catch it. This has happened probably 5 or 6 times. They do not share Apple accounts, and as far as I know he is not signed into any service on her phone or vice versa. He says it's only when they're at home on the same network, but I also assume that's the only time he's browsing the web. Does anyone have any clue where I should start with 'fixing' this behaviour? | Getting data off of dead iphone? Posted: 28 Jul 2019 05:47 PM PDT So my battery finally died for good today, and I haven't backed up the data in a long time (I know I know). Verizon said they'll replace the whole phone, but if I just want the battery changed, I would need to go to Apple and it wouldn't be covered by the insurance. I've been through the troubleshooting steps with both Verizon and Apple support, and can't get past the battery icon screen to even power up to back up while plugged in. Is there any other app or way to backup to save the photos/texts without buying a new battery? Or any other clever suggestions that are beyond me at the moment? Thanks in advance! | Data & Privacy download: Other Data\Apple Features Using iCloud\Mail\Recents.xml Posted: 28 Jul 2019 02:22 PM PDT This may not be the best place to ask this question and if this is the case, please forgive my ignorance and all I ask then is where would be the best place to find correct answers? All help greatly appreciated! Due to a convoluted long story I have multiple apple id's. In an attempt to see if I had anything purchased associated to the first apple ID I thought I would use the "privacy and data" download option and see what it could show me. In one of the areas "other data" I found my bf's name and email address and am wondering if there is anything I need to be concerned about? who would I ask what all this means? I should mention, none of the addresses listed in this xml file are my actual apple ID, if that makes sense. | iMessages gets 'delivered' after a few hours Posted: 28 Jul 2019 04:36 AM PDT So I would iMessage Person A but my the 'delivered' would appear after a couple of hours, I am unsure exactly how long. When I would call them, it goes straight to voicemail. When Person B iMessage Person A around the same time, it gets 'delivered' right away. I asked Person C to block me to test out how blocking works, and the 'delivered' never showed. I'm sure Person A blocked me, but I don't know why it would still say 'delivered' when it doesn't when tested with Person C. My guess is that they only blocked me on their phone, but they would still receive my messages on their iMessage on their Macbook. Can anybody confirm? I am on iOS 12. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 28 Jul 2019 11:39 AM PDT The "wake" animation works perfectly fine when charging the phone, however it gets very laggy sometimes when not plugged into the wall. | Weird area on phone where the screen doesn’t work? Posted: 28 Jul 2019 07:12 AM PDT So about a month ago I was unable to touch a certain area on my phone, like nothing would process. I left it thinking it would go, but it's starting to get wider (i think). As you can probably guess, it's quite annoying since it's right near the middle of the screen where I need to touch the most for certain things. I've been using the screen magnifier thing to help. | Why was my Iphone X "flagged" when trying to repair?? Posted: 28 Jul 2019 12:40 AM PDT ust curious if anyone who works for Apple or knows the inner workings can tell me why the hell my wife's iPhone x was flagged for a simple repair. We pay for AppleCare+. No hardware or software has ever been modified on the phone a single time. She had one accident about 2 months after we bought it that resulted in a cracked screen. We live about 2 hours away from an actual genius bar but we have several Apple certified repair centers in our local area. I simply made an appointment and got the screen repaired same day no questions asked at Best Buy. Fats forward to present day nearly a year and change later she has another accident. Screen gets cracked and I make an appointment at BB. Bring the phone to the GD store only to be told by an associate that Apple randomly flags phones, making it so they must be repaired by Apple themselves. So, I make an appointment and drive 2 hours away to a genius bar. Get there, go through paperwork, and I get told by the associate of the genius bar that my phone MUST be sent out to be repaired not only by a genius bar, but an Apple facility itself. What a crock of S*#^!! Has this happened to anyone else? To say this is a pain in the ass is an understatement. I pay for the AC+ and have never done anything to give Apple the idea that anything untoward is happening with any of my devices. [link] [comments]  |
