Posted: 30 Jul 2019 02:21 PM PDT I have an iPad using a Lightning to Ethernet and camera adapter for power. Currently I only have Ethernet enabled. If I turn WiFi on as well, what gets priority?? Ethernet connection or wireless? If Ethernet fails will wireless automatically kick in if both are enabled?? [link] [comments]
what's the best way to view/highlight/write on a university textbook pdf file? Posted: 30 Jul 2019 12:38 PM PDT I tried loading a Math PDF textbook onto Notability but the bookmarks don't transfer over onto Notability. And you can imagine with thousands of pages, bookmarks can be quite important. Looking for a pdf reader that can keep its bookmarks (I don't need to MAKE new bookmarks, just want to keep the original bookmarks), highlight and also jiggle down notes directly onto the pdf itself (not as a "comment"). What's everyone else using for these tasks? As always, free apps > paid apps preferred! [link] [comments]
App for diagram drawing (software) like drawio/notability Posted: 30 Jul 2019 12:32 PM PDT Wondering if there's a good app for software design that incorporates notabilities drawing/autocomplete of shapes with drawio's premade components/software icons. [link] [comments]
Screens vs Jump (Remote Desktop) Posted: 30 Jul 2019 12:11 PM PDT Hello, I use Remote Desktop apps frequently from my iPad Pro and even my iPhone. I've used Chrome Remote Desktop (which I've abandoned due to concerns about privacy), TeamViewer (only as a backup or to connect to my Linux server until I can get Jump/Screens working on that platform), and currently using Jump. I find Jump's interface much easier to use than TeamViewer but I was recently introduced to Screens. It seems like a great app and I like that it has the ability to use an iPhone as a touchpad but I was wondering if anyone actually has compared it to Jump and/or TeamViewer. I'd love to hear any experiences and comparisons. I know that it doesn't have the two choices of protocols that Jump has but it definitely looks good. Any info would be super helpful. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Is iPad OS Beta 5 worth installing? Posted: 30 Jul 2019 05:38 AM PDT Hi. I really want to install the iPad OS Beta but have been holding off, because I am scared my iPad would freeze as it is my primary device I use at university and don't want to have a non working ipad when I need to study. Is beta 5 stable enough to install or should I rather wait till the official release? [link] [comments]

A keyboard case won't turn your iPad into a good laptop replacement. Posted: 30 Jul 2019 11:04 AM PDT So recently I've been trying out different keyboard cases for the iPad pro 11 to try and make it more of a laptop replacement with iPad OS. Currently I have the Zagg Rugged Book Go which is the best keyboard case I have found thus far. But for me iPad OS hasn't really changed anything, when using an iPad with a keyboard the experience is very inconsistent and doesn't work nearly well as it does on a windows or mac machine. Not to mention pretty much every keyboard case I've tried for the iPad makes it much heavier and thicker than many laptops available, and there are still now ports. So I guess what I'm getting at is, if you are fine getting your work done completely on a touch screen then the iPad pro may be able to be your main machine, but if your plans are to go out and buy a keyboard case to use with your iPad from day one, then just get a laptop instead. P.S. I just want to add that I tried out the Apple smart folio case which is the only keyboard case that is so thin that it might be worth keeping on the iPad at all times. But apple really screwed up that keyboard, its the most unsatisfying keyboard I've ever typed on in my life. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jul 2019 07:01 AM PDT At my work we use an iPad in our conferences rooms to enable Zoom. The problem is sometimes people accidentally unplug the charger sometimes, then the iPad dies and the next person can't use Zoom. Is there an app that sends out an email or text when the battery is low? I've seen apps that notify you on Mac via WiFi sync, but that won't work since there's no one owner of the iPad. Ideally the entire office would be notified via email, text, or Slack [link] [comments]
Long press taking to much time Posted: 30 Jul 2019 10:12 AM PDT Hello When I use safari I sometimes want to open a link in a new window. I can do this by long press a link. The problem is that the long press takes too much time. Is there a setting that I can adjust to my liking? Kind regards [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Jul 2019 09:55 AM PDT So I have a iPad mini 2 and I'm wondering what the expected battery life on full brightness and minimum brightness compared to what I have. Full brightness on a full charge is 4 hours Minimum brightness on a full charge is 8 hours. [link] [comments]
Anyone here use 2018 iPad Pro for filmmaking? Posted: 30 Jul 2019 09:36 AM PDT I'm new to iPad Pro, loving it so far. I was curious to see your setup for importing and editing footage. I'd love to make my iPad Pro a mobile video creation powerhouse. Send any tips my way! Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jul 2019 07:27 PM PDT After searching through all the post suggesting these are the best two apps when it comes to handwritten notes, I have one question I couldn't answer. I am planning on using the apps for school and what I am looking for is after I import a pdf file of lecture slides or textbooks, I want to be able to quickly clip an image on that pdf file that I can paste onto a flash card app like Anki. Ive heard notability can reform that with a scissor tool, I just wanted to confirm it and see if good notes could also perform that same function. [link] [comments]
