Logitech Slim Folio Pro Keyboard case, really love this product over the Smart Folio Case. Already had one bent iPad, not risking it with this one. (Also enjoy the picture of my pupper)

Reading on the iPad Pro 11inch

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 09:21 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I'm an avid iPad user, and I own both an iPad Mini 5th gen and the latest iPad Pro 12.9 inch. I love both, but at times it seems kind of silly for me to have two. I use them both daily. The iPad Pro I use for email, productivity things for work, some light photo editing, taking notes, etc. I can't imagine going without it. I use the iPad Mini for reading, and again I do this everyday and can't imagine going without it.

Like I said, it seems silly to have both. I can't imagine myself reading on the iPad pro as it's so big so that's why I have the mini. But I'm wondering if it might be worth it to just sell both and instead get the iPad Pro 11 inch as a compromise. That way it's still powerful enough to do all of the tasks that I need to get done but hopefully small enough that I can read comfortably.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Do you think we'll see iPad 7th Generation at Apple's September event?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 01:17 PM PDT

Apple hasn't updated this iPad since March 2018, so I was wondering if we can expect this iPad to be refreshed?

I am thinking about buying the 6th generation iPad, but am more than willing to wait 2 months to get the potentially newer iPad.

I’m running the iPadOS beta on my iPad Mini 4 and I just got back from Micro Center with a USB 3 to Lightning adapter connected to my Cana Kit mini-keyboard/trackpad. Thank you to u/maybe_its_you for the recommendation of the adapter.

Binding action to mouse buttons on iPadOS 13

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 12:03 PM PDT

Hey guys! So I've been giving the iPad a shot as a computer replacement. I use multiple instances of PDFs open at the same file by having multiple instances of the Files app open.

I have bindings for different action with my mouse button. However, I couldn't find a way of binding the App Exposé to the mouse in order to easily switch between pdfs.

Has anyone been able to achieve something similar to this? Let me know how you quickly swap between PDFs!

    About LTE iPads, again

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 04:24 AM PDT

I've posted a question wondering if buying an iPad with LTE is better than WiFi only. I've received so many answers: thank you! But, I've noticed a detail. Most of the people who prefer LTE models, live in a country where data plans and tethering are not as cheap as here in Italy. I've a 40gb/mo data plan for my phone with free hotspot. I think that if you have a plan like this (and you have WiFi at home and at work) you should better grab an WiFi only tablet, since a new sim-card and a monthly fee for the iPad would be a waste of money.

    Do you agree?

PDF Apps with multi word search

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 12:56 AM PDT

So I've been looking for sometime and trying various apps for the iPad, but I have yet to find any that can search multiple words at once. To preface anything that I type between - - we will what I search because "" will change a search. But here's an example. If you open a pdf in preview and search -how to- you will find all pages with "how" and "to" on the same page. Now if you change your search to -"how to"- you will only show pages with "how to" (aka how to must be next to each other).

So I'm wondering if there are any apps on the iPad that can do the first example aka just search for any words and if possible have the " " marks use so I can also search for exact matches. Thanks in advance!!!

    Video subtitles

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 03:35 AM PDT

    Hello everyone,

On android VLC is capable of downloading subtitles straight from The app. Is there any app that can do the same on ipad, or does the new ipados allow to drag and drop subtitle from files to the video?

To those with both a laptop and an iPad, why?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 12:23 AM PDT

I can't see myself ever giving up my Mac. It's just too damn useful. But an iPad to maybe do some reading on? Maybe. Curious what others out there do. Like if you have both, do you still use your laptop as much? Do you split your time between them? Only use the laptop when absolutely necessary? Also curious about working professionals that need their laptops for work. Like programmers.

    iPad Pro usb adaptor

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 02:32 AM PDT

    Hi all!

Okay, so I currently have the 12.9 2018 iPad Pro and I am in need of an adapter that will allow me to download files from a usb drive to my iPad Pro. Is this even possible? I would need to download a textbook from the usb drive onto my iPad.

I'm currently not on the the new IPadOS beta, so I don't have any of the new upgrades that the new update offers. Any adaptor recommendations?

    Thanks for the help!

What’s your favourite video player besides VLC?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2019 06:38 PM PDT

Run iPadOS. Files is full with MKV but native preview app does not play. VLC seems to copy file if playing. What do you use?

What are your experiences with the swiping keyboard in the iOS 13 beta?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2019 10:06 PM PDT

First off, it's an ergonomic godsend and I'm glad they implemented it.

I do find the reliability can be really hit and miss, it's seems to struggle when I'm typing slightly more technical terms, and sometimes it does confuse a word for another word. Unsurprisingly, swear words refuse to come up, fuck becomes duck, shit becomes shot, cunt becomes count, you get the point.

I also wish it worked on the larger keyboard as well and gave me my ducking number row.

One thing I do like is that it seems to sort of pick up words you frequently use and prioritise them in lieu with the word suggestions feature.

So what are your thoughts on it so far?

    Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayon?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 01:39 AM PDT

Just ordered the iPad mini 5 and not sure which stylus to order. I'm not an artist, I just want to take notes from time to time. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Pencil because there are cases for the iPad that also hold the Pencil (haven't seen any for the Crayon yet). Thoughts?

iPad 9.7" 2018 Case, Keyboard or Folio

    Posted: 05 Jul 2019 06:36 PM PDT

I saw zugu case in one of the images posted here; it seems to have been said as to protect iPad from 5 feet falls. Zugu seems to be not mentioning on the number of 5 feet (152.4 cm) falls case would protect iPad from (bare ipad was shown in one of the youtube videos as to have cracked screen after 4 falls on a concrete floor). I saw UAG, it seems to protect iPad with zero damage from 4' (121.92 cm) 26 falls. I saw otterbox, it seems to have two cases from iPad 9.7" 2018, and seems to have many parts for one of the case; it seems to be not mentioning on the extent to which it would protect iPad from. I saw logitech folio reviews in amazon and in apple site, most of them seem to have had their keyboard keys coming off, or seem to have had plastic broken. I saw keys-to-go keyboard in this site, I might buy that one along with UAG.

Would you suggest other accessories than UAG+Keys-to-go? If yes, can you say on why you would choose other accessories?

    Thank you.

Trying to find a note-taking app for all my specific needs.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2019 12:10 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I don't have a lot of requirements for a note-taking app, but what I do need can be rather specific. Does anyone know of any app with all these features? ↓

    Must-Haves

    • Drag-and-drop shapes: Rectangular, circle, etc.
    • Convert hand-writing to text (Not just OCR).
    • Infinite canvas: I won't ever print my notes, so this is preferable.
    • Dark mode, or at least I can change the text and background to white-on-black.

    Nice-To-Haves

    • Export to HTML/Web archive: I don't want to rely on just iCloud. I prefer anoher hard copy backup.
    • Audio: For the rare occasions.

    Thanks.
