    [Release] 13HUD - iOS 13 volume HUD for iOS 11/12

    Today I'm finally releasing 13HUD to Packix. It currently does a very good job of re-creating the iOS 13 HUD, but it isn't perfect yet, please consider this more of a beta than a full release.

    13HUD aims to almost exactly mimic the iOS 13 volume HUD on earlier iOS versions. If you've seen or used iOS 13 before, you should know exactly what to expect from this tweak ;). You can see a video demonstration of 13 HUD here. 13HUD is also entirely open-source, and I'm happy to answer any questions about parts of the source code if you have them. Any contributions in the form of pull requests are also greatly appreciated.

    The size and position of the HUD is entirely configurable to your preference. Options include:

    • Top padding
    • Height
    • Timeout
    • Collapse timeout
    • Hide ringer indicator

    13HUD does not currently implement iOS 13's ringer HUD, only the volume HUD, but @iKilledAppl3 is working on that for his tweak Rishima, go check it out! Hopefully once that's finished, we can merge the two tweaks to create the perfect iOS 13 volume HUD experience.

    [Tutorial] How to mount HFS/APFS flash drives to an iOS device with Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (or any other USB adapters)

    A month ago, I bought myself an Apple Camera Kit adapter so that I'd be able to connect flash drives to my iOS devices. There were multiple problems which I didn't know how to solve:

    1. It seemed to be randomly impossible to mount the drive using commands mount_hfs/mount_apfs, as they'd constantly throw resource busy error.
    2. Even if it did magically mount, I didn't know how to unmount it, as umount returned the same resource busy error.

    But I've solved both of them.

    1. Apple Camera Kit was designed for viewing photos from USB devices, hence iOS tries to mount it automatically, which is the cause of the first problem. To solve it, after inserting the adapter, you need to spam the mount command yourself so that iOS won't be able to do it first. Now, to know what exactly you need to mount, first run ls /dev in terminal, and take a note of what disk* files you have there. Then, insert the adapter (with your HFS/APFS drive already connected to it), wait a moment (until a pop up "failed to get contents from the media device" appears or until Photos app opens, but if nothing happened or you got "accessory requires too much power" pop up, then disconnect and connect it again), and run ls /dev once more. You'll see that new disk files have appeared. For HFS drive, write down the last new disk*s1 file, and for APFS, it might be disk*s*s1. Disconnect the adapter, create a folder named /mnt2 (though name it whatever you want) in system root directory, and write this in terminal: mount_hfs /dev/disk*s1 /mnt2 or mount_apfs /dev/disk*s*s1 /mnt2, connect the adapter again, and start spamming your command. Eventually, the USB drive will be mounted. (NOTE: for HFS, after a successful mount, you'll get a single could not create property for re-key environment message. If there are any other messages, then the process had failed, and you should try everything again).
    2. To unmount it, run umount -f /mnt2. It's important to do, as disconnecting the adapter without unmounting the drive first will force the iOS device to reboot.

    After all this, you should be able to view and edit contents of your flash drive through Filza (or any other file manager.) This whole process only works with HFS and APFS drives, and the adapter itself requires iOS 9 and up (at least the one which is currently sold in Apple Stores). It's not possible to mount FAT32/ExFAT drives this way, as iOS doesn't support them properly yet (gotta wait for iOS 13).

    P.S. Keep in mind that you can only mount a flash drive if it's connected through a USB adapter. Those drives which have both USB and Lightning connectors on both ends will not work, as they were designed to work with their specific app from App Store. Moreover, you cannot view their contents in Filza or anywhere else, hence they're pretty worthless.

    I bought Eclipse recently and I saw that I couldn't changed my applications (Preference error) I downloaded the rpetri repo and reinstalled PreferenceLoader and RocketBootstrap and it still doesn't work. Any help?

    [Release] aptme.io - Web Based Repository Browser

    https://aptme.io is a new project of Max Bridgland's that allowd you to view repositories inside of Safari or your webbrowser and download/install them directly. Here is a demo.

    If you have Sileo you can download directly through there. Not sure if it works the same for Cydia.

    Max spoke to MidgnightChips as well about adding a most searched repos functionality he just needs to add it to the webpage!
