Posted: 06 Jul 2019 03:08 AM PDT I have the iPad Pro and I love the 120 Hz screen. However, barely any games support 120 FPS. A list of games that support 120 FPS would be really nice, thank you! [link] [comments]

4 Quick tl;dr iOS Game Reviews / Recommendations (Episode 24) Posted: 05 Jul 2019 02:05 PM PDT Welcome back, mobile gaming connoisseurs, to this weekly mobile gaming recommendation thread based on the games I have played last week. This week, I've played Valve's first mobile game, a new large offline-playable rpg shooter, a shoot'em'up bullet-hell arcade game, and a casual monster-bashing RPG perfect for 2-3 minute play-sessions. Disagree with my opinion? Let's have a friendly discussion below. New to these posts? Check out the first one from 24 weeks ago here. The games are "ranked" somewhat subjectively from best to worst, so take the ranking for what it is. Let's jump in!:Dota Underlords [Game Size: 669 MB] (free)Genre: Strategy / Auto Chess - Requires Online Access Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: Dota Underlords is Valve's entry into the "auto chess" genre of strategy games, and while the core gameplay is as good as the competition, the UI looks like something from a 2012 mobile game (needlessly large buttons, sliders etc.), and it's clear that the game could use a few extra months of development. The nearly cel-shaded graphics make the units we deploy really "pop" though, and despite the lack of features, the game offers a decent experience for Dota fans who dislike Drodo's Auto Chess game. If you're new to the genre and have to pick a single auto chess game, I would either wait for Underlords to be more developed, or play Auto Chess. App Store: Here First Impressions / Review: Here Bad 2 Bad: Extinction [Total Game Size: 177 MB] (free)Genre: RPG / Shooter / Action – Offline Playable Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: It's impossible to truly put a genre tag on Bad 2 Bad: Extinction, but it lands somewhere in that RPG-Action-Shooter zone, and the gameplay is truly unique, offering one of the larger offline-playable experiences of this kind on mobile. The game has us head into one of multiple areas that each have their maps randomly generated every time we enter. Once there, our goal is to complete side-missions to acquire gold and new weapons until we eventually uncover the main mission, and at the end successfully escape before nighttime comes around and makes the monsters much stronger. Using a left-side joystick, we control a group of soldiers as we explore each open-world map, shooting manually or automatically at incoming enemies. The monetization focuses primarily on cosmetics, with a few iAPs giving us extra backpack slots, auto gold and diamond pickups features, and extra grenade damage. App Store: Here First Impressions / Review: Here Boom Pilot [Total Game Size: 136 MB] (free)Genre: Shoot'em'up / Bullet Hell / Oldschool - Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: Boom Pilot is a new oldschool shoot'em'up bullet-hell-like game with a simple art style fun animations and a great control scheme (when avoiding bullets, try flicking the screen to see your plane literally throwing itself in any direction very quickly). There's only a few planes and a single campaign game-mode at the moment, which is currently the game's main drawback. An endless-mode would be perfect. Overall, the game feels great to play, the soundtrack is neat, and the monetization focuses on skippable video ads that can be removed through a single $5 iAP to support the indie developer. App Store: Here First Impressions / Review: Here Micro RPG [Game Size: 114 MB] (free)Genre: RPG / Casual – Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Some tl;dr review: Micro RPG is a simple casual RPG with short 2-3 minute play-sessions, but without sacrificing the feeling of actually playing an RPG; so there's plenty of monster bashing, loot gathering, and equipment enhancing! We control our character with just a single tap on the screen as we attempt to bash all monsters before they get to us, using out 3 different weapons. The monetization is perfectly relaxed, with no energy system, no forced ads, and no real reason to buy iAPs except to grow stronger a bit faster. I'm excited to see where the indie developer will take this game in the next few months! You can signup for a TestFlight invite on the developer's website (link just below). "I Can Count to Ten" is an educational game that teaches children how to count Posted: 06 Jul 2019 01:04 AM PDT This game teaches children how to count using scientifically proven methods. The game was designed for young children in mind, so it's easy enough for anyone to use. The game features cartoon-style hands that are designed to get the attention of the child and keep their focus on the fingers while they count, and counting sounds from another child to encourage your child to copy the counting that they hear. There are no ads and no extra stuff, just as simple as that. Here is the iOS link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/i-can-count-to-ten/id1470895791 [link] [comments]
I really enjoyed the game “the trail” any recommendations of similar games Posted: 06 Jul 2019 06:16 AM PDT The trail was an amazing game and I highly recommend it to anyone. It's so relaxing and different. Y'all got any similar games? [link] [comments]
DEV - Agent Reverb - Rhythm/Idle Game Posted: 06 Jul 2019 08:31 AM PDT Hey guys! We just released our first game for IOS. It's called Agent Reverb and it's a combination of a rhythm game and an idle game. It's free with minimal ads (and the ability to permanently turn them off.) Some Features:
Check it out on the store: https://appstore.com/apps/agentreverb Also, if you're at RTX this weekend, we have a booth set up where we're having a competition to win some stuff. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Jul 2019 08:13 AM PDT I swear to god it's been there for like 6 fucking years it's insane, especially since I have not in my entire life ever heard the app even so much mentioned by any human being in the physical reality. Yet somehow it has maintained a solid #2 spot, right behind Minecraft, since it's inception. I think this brings up a point that the way the AppStore displays its games is fundamentally broken. Games that may have been very popular (unlike Heads Up because nobody ever played that) are still hogging the top 50 of the popular section purely because they have the most reviews. A solution to this would be to introduce an attrition factor so their place degraded over time if they don't maintain some fort of popularity, whether it be by reviews over X time or downloads/purchases over X time (my favorite for a true popularity measure). The fact that this isn't actually implemented and just judged purely on the fact that the 'most popular' apps gained a lot of REVIEWS a year ago or so, gives me the impression that Apple either doesn't know or doesn't care about the AppStore as long as they churn some sort of revenue from it. Also, the AppStore is absolute garbage now. Everything is either a Clash of Clans ripoff grind fest, or some idle clone #120,304 that exists purely to cash grab advertisement space. It's fucking lazy. The games suck now. [link] [comments]

[DEV] Bottle Cap Challenge mobile game Posted: 06 Jul 2019 02:15 AM PDT Hi! The current #BottleCapChallenge trend inspired me to make a game about it. We at Airapport games always produce high-quality games with smooth controls and nice visuals, which often receive awards at various contests. I hope you'll like this one, too. Here it is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bottle-cap-challenge-2019/id1471320821 The player's task is to swipe across the bottle cap to unscrew it and perform tricks. Here's how the gameplay looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgMsld2anlw If you'd like to see how the game was made, here's the development timelapse videos: [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jul 2019 05:47 PM PDT Hey all! Just got an iPad Pro 12.9 inch screen :) was wondering what games to get on it! Preferably ones that will also work well on my IPhone XS Max. I'm into RPG's, gacha, dungeon crawler, hearthstone, etc. I do have a gaming pc and consoles so this wouldn't be my main source of gaming. Raid Shadow Legends any good? Games like that? Posted: 05 Jul 2019 08:22 PM PDT My favourites are Final Taptasy, Realm Grinder, and Clicker Heroes Any others of legendary quality? These three boast non intrusive ads, non intrusive cash stores, while offering ways to automate, with decently quick easy to understand progression Looking for new ones though, any others of wonderful quality that seems to not get boring?
