Apple Watch saves me from being locked outside my house for hours in my boxers. Posted: 03 Jul 2019 07:14 AM PDT I've recently started having to go to back crazy early so I can get to work at 4am but my dogs have no gotten on the schedule yet and still want to go outside around 9 like we used to take them. So last night I get out of bed, and take them to the back yard via our sliding glass door. They do their business and I go to open the door again only to find it locked. Apparently the hinge the holds the lock lever is loose, so when I shut the door it knocked it down, locking the door with me outside. So there I am, super frustrated that this happened. Trying, with no regard for reason, to slide open the sliding door. I wasn't going for long so I left my phone on my night stand, but luckily I wore my watch to bed that night and was able to call my wife to come home from work on her lunch to let me back in. So thanks Apple, for letting me make phone calls via Bluetooth or WiFi or however it's connected, with my watch. [link] [comments]
AutoWake good for 24% of my battery consumption Posted: 03 Jul 2019 04:55 AM PDT AutoWake is good for 24% of my battery consumption over the last 10 days (iPhone XR), 41% over the past day. My gut feeling says that is a lot for a fancy alarm clock. Am I the only one with this issue or is AutoWake just a big energy slurping alarmclock? [link] [comments]
Just Scored an S4 40mm silver aluminum GPS only for $175 Posted: 02 Jul 2019 11:54 AM PDT Just picked this up off of Craigslist today. Brand new in sealed unopened box, for $175 cash. It's all paired and charged up. Pretty happy with this deal on what will become a backup/chores watch S4 for my 44mm GPS/LTE. ;-) [link] [comments]

Is there anyway to avoid pressing the knob everytime after I get a notification? Posted: 03 Jul 2019 06:31 AM PDT I am starting to get bored of the constant "pressing the knob to go back to watch face screen" after getting a notification. Was hoping for the notification to stay for like 5-10 seconds then goes back to the watch face/home screen by itself-like how notification works on the phone. [link] [comments]

Best Series 4 case (44mm) that is ACTUALLY thin. Posted: 03 Jul 2019 08:26 AM PDT I just want scratch protection, I don't care about protection from impact. I have purchased two now from Amazon that are described as "thin", but they are most definitely not thin. Looking for something that provides scratch resistance while maintaining the sleek shape and edges of the watch. Any recommendations? [link] [comments]
Anyone else have problems with swim tracking Posted: 03 Jul 2019 08:22 AM PDT I have the S4(44mm) and I use it for tracking running and swimming at my school gym. Running works fine, but it won't accurately track my laps in the pool. I set it to the 25 yards that the pool is and when I do 4 laps it says 6. When I do 6 laps, it says 8. I tried changing it to a 30 yard length to compensate, somehow that made it worse. It said I did 9 laps when I only did 5. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 08:18 AM PDT I was browsing reddit yesterday and saw that someone found a cool eater egg for Apollo. If you wanted to access it early then you'd have to set the date and time on the phone to July 4, 2019 and do whatever that was required to do the Easter egg. Well I did that and then set my date back to automatic. After that I noticed that my last hour for my stand goal was never reached even though I still have 5 more hours of the day left and I made sure to stand every hour for 5 mins walking around also. I was tired so I said screw that and it's not like that matters to me. Fast forward to today I had to mow the lawn so I started a work out and once I finished it, my move, stand, and exercise remains at 0. https://i.imgur.com/DapLaMt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1LSPAAw.jpg Looked at app and it shows and registered that I had done absolutely nothing for 2 days... https://i.imgur.com/0ucjWYO.jpg Is my move streak pretty much a lost cause now?... cause that would suck Edit: wow thanks for the help guys. What a swell community we have here [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 05:53 AM PDT I'm trying to decide between the GPS and GPS+Cellular version of AW4. Since I have my phone with me 90% of the time, I'm leaning toward GPS, but there are times when I don't have my phone with me, and need to receive critical txts, emails and maybe even calls if they're an emergency. My big question is, if I get the cellular AW, will it only use cellular data when I'm not near my phone or on Wifi? I'm on an unlimited data plan, so I'm not concerned about data usage, I'm more concerned about battery life. Put another way, if I were to activate a cellular AW4, and always have my phone with me for a month, would the battery life be the same as an AW4+Cellular? I don't want to get the cellular version if my battery life will be cut in half, even though I would rarely be somewhere without my phone. Thanks [link] [comments]
Sharing activity between iOS 12 and iOS 13 Posted: 03 Jul 2019 05:09 AM PDT Anyone having issues setting up a new share activity between different versions of iOS? I'm on iOS 13 and friend is on iOS 12 - both are running the latest version of Watch OS. [link] [comments]

One the fence about a new apple watch Posted: 02 Jul 2019 10:13 PM PDT So I've had my apple watch series 1 for about 2 years now and it still works great. But my birthday is coming up and I feel that an upgrade would be nice but not necessary. So talk me into it or talk me out of it. Give me your opinion. [link] [comments]
Fantastical complication question Posted: 02 Jul 2019 12:32 PM PDT Hi folks, Just a quick question regarding the Fantastical infographic complication for those who use it. Can it be set to list all non-scheduled reminders from a list? For example, if I had 2 scheduled reminders and 6 non-scheduled, it would list 6 reminders? Alternatively, could is list all scheduled/non-scheduled reminders on one list, so using the values above it would state "8"? Thanks! [link] [comments]
My watch series 4’s activity move count triggers for smoking cigarettes Posted: 02 Jul 2019 09:06 PM PDT Hi, I picked up my watch series 4 a week back. I haven't concerned about burning calories before but since I picked up the watch I started to give it a try and I have been walking with light running everyday. But I'm a heavy smoker my concern is my daily activity move count keeps increasing during smoking and it helps to achieve awards too. I feel terrible to being rewarded for smoking. Anyone else facing this issue? [link] [comments]

Series 3 cellular or series 4 standard Posted: 03 Jul 2019 02:50 AM PDT I'm tossing up whether to buy a series 3 cellular or standard series 4 however I've seen that there maybe on going charges for S3 cellular and when I'm out and want to respond to a text with my watch I want to send them not receive (why I want cellular) However my friend told me I can do that as long as I have my phone on me with a standard Apple Watch. Is this true? Also I would like to hear the pros and cons to each watch and if anyone own either of the two please do let me know your opinion on them. Thanks [link] [comments]
