Apple TV 4k home sharing playback issues Posted: 06 Jun 2019 06:35 PM PDT I have been using iflicks to convert some of my 4k blu ray rips into 2160p HEVC format for itunes. All of the videos play fine on my 2018 MacBook pro but on the Apple TV 4k with home sharing from my Mac about half of the movies playback with just the audio and a black screen. Problem with Dolby Vision Posted: 06 Jun 2019 06:54 PM PDT Hi all! First time poster here. I'm in need of some tech support. I wanted to watch a rented 4K movie for the first time on my LGB6 via iTunes. I rented Mission Impossible Fallout which also was in Dolby Vision HDR. The problem I noticed was that throughout the entire movie, every time the scene was dark, there was a constant pulsing light and pulsing brightness in the edges of the screen. What is going on? https://youtu.be/AVJZhtMyqb0 (You'll likely have to boost your screen brightness to see the problem - and make sure to look at the bottom left of the screen. Obviously this is much worse in person/on my TV.) Could this just be poor HDR/Dolby Vision compression? Am I the only one who is getting this bug? How does the BBC iPlayer app STILL not support subtitles? Posted: 06 Jun 2019 01:04 PM PDT From the BBC website: "There are technical challenges associated with delivering subtitles to Apple TV which will require a significantly different solution to that which we use on all other platforms. We are working towards it but don't currently have timelines associated with this support." It has been this way since the app was released 3 years ago. HBO app pause/play not remembering position Posted: 06 Jun 2019 01:25 PM PDT I've had this issue from the beginning, 4-5 months that is, the HBO app just wont remember the position I paused something. I press pause. After a couple of minutes I press play, and it will not start where I paused from. It starts from an earlier point. I keep on watching. Why can't I create another user account on the beta? Posted: 06 Jun 2019 10:31 PM PDT As the title says I have the beta installed and I've tried multiple times to no avail to add a second user to my Apple TV 4K through settings but when I type in the Apple ID and password and press ok nothing happens, it just shows my original account and the add user button... the new one I just entered is no where to be seen. Universal remote question. Posted: 06 Jun 2019 09:40 PM PDT I've just got a question about the way universal remotes interact with the Apple TV. I've got a Logitech hub remote in my setup but am wanting to add a HomePod to the setup too. I tried to use my AirPods to listen to the Apple TV while my partner slept, but realised you can't adjust the volume on the AirPods with a universal remote, only the default Apple TV remote. Just wondering if I would have the same issue with the HomePod or if it connect to the Apple TV in a different way that enables the volume to be adjusted via the universal remote hub. I bought apple tv only, because I need it for Homekit hub. So I don't need the stand to charge the remote, because it will stay mostly there and I don't think it's good to stay constantly powered on. I make quick research and the one that I found is the walnut stand from studio neat. Is's from USA and it's 15$, but I'm from EU and the delivery is 9$...
